Lovers' Wit

Rate this book
Sex, relationships, marriages, and affairs have driven even the most levelheaded individuals to sudden outbursts of flushed-face anger, childlike excitement, and hand-wringing despair. In calmer moments, these matters of the heart can prompt amusement, cynicism, or philosophical mutterings about the absurdity of it all. Lovers' Wit offers up pearls of wit and wisdom from the lover, the loved, the lost, and the lecherous. With timeless observations from humorists, writers, actors, politicians, and musicians—ranging from Woody Allen to Anton Chekhov, Napoleon Bonaparte to Denis Leary—it proves that when it comes to love, everybody has something to say.

The content cracked me up on numerous occasions, but for all of the typos and reprints, and some of the things that should not have been in the book at all, I have to admit irritation in my English major brain.
