This was a really good read! I wasn't exactly expecting a sequel from the first book so this was a surprise. Some of the mathematics and science confused me, but overall it was very easy to read! I enjoyed being back in this little strange world that the two main characters happened upon in the first book. And according to the ending there's going to be a third one, so I am excited to see how this trilogy ends!

I love a good sci-fi film that delves into the unexpected and unknown! Thomas and April are quite the duo and their adventures prove this unknown is nothing as was expected. It’s fun, vivid, and captures your interest from start to finish. The author did a great job of leading you in and peaking your interest. There is definitely more to tell and I am eager to be apart of it.

A fun continuation.

The pair continue their journey of time bending and exploring what seems to be a place in an alternate universe. It’s such a cool concept and I like how the interactions feel real.
I’m curious to see what happens in the next book.

This book, more or less, picks up where the previous left off. A couple months have passed and we find out that Thomas and April are keeping in touch, they are still friends. Even better, April thinks she figured it out. She believes that she has found a way back to that surreal world they had previously visited. The aperture the duo had previously used to journey to the island and find Flick was lost in an earthquake, April thinks it moved to Alaska. In no time at all the friends are gearing up for another adventure, hoping to see their old friend Flick once more.

The author does a phenomenal job in once again painting a strange, surreal world, one where things are just not quite what you expect. Of course, things aren’t quite the same as the last adventure, the changing circumstances served to add a nice bit of tension to the plot. We continue to have some fun dialog peppered with pop culture references, and a better memory for math than I have. All in all I would say this serves as an excellent follow up to the previous novella, and of course ends with another sequel tease. If you enjoyed the first, you are bound to enjoy your second trip.

April and Thomas shared an out of this world experience in the first book. Now they are both ready to go back and explore more. After research and hard work, April believes she has found them a way back. The planning into this trip is a bit more than before, but now they will not be starting close to home. Once everything is in place the two are off. They hope to visit Flick and explore areas they didnt get to last time. Once the two pass through the entrance they realize this may not be as simple as they thought. Sand like substance as far as the eye can see, no evidence of the ocean they expected. Just how much time had passed in this place? Will they be able to complete they trip they planned? Will Flick still be alive? Will his planet even exist not? What will they experience on this trip?

Stevens did an amazing job picking up from where the first story left off. The story draws you in from the start keeping you emerged throughout. I can not wait to see how this trilogy rounds out. It is defiantly worth the right though I do suggest starting with book 1.

Having read and enjoyed book one in this trilogy I was excited to be back with main characters Thomas and April, and to continue their sci-fi adventure with them. I would personally recommend reading these books in order as the storyline picks up from the end of the previous novella. After receiving an intriguing text saying, “I think I found it.”, Thomas and April set off to explore the world they discovered previously. The pair go with a plan this time and hope they will be able to visit their new friend Flick along the way, but this undiscovered world has something else in store for them. It’s a good job their motto is, “Expect the unexpected”! The authors descriptive narrative and wonderful world building really brings the setting vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the story, as though I was exploring alongside Thomas and April. I look forward to the third book in this trilogy.

The Second View (The View from Here Trilogy #2) by Leon Stevens

This isn't the first book I've read by the author. The Second View is the second book in The View from Here Trilogy. Thomas and April are back and looking for the View they first met over. Will they be able to do it again?

Thomas is back and has kept in contact with April. They've been watching the news about the earthquake. They've been trying to find the opening again. When they get there they are trying to figure out what is going on. The quote I chose for Thomas is: “It could have done worse than immobilize me.”

April has been spending her time with Thomas and trying to find the opening. Then she finds that there is another opening. She calls Thomas and lets him know. Now they are on another adventure. The quote I chose for April is: “We need to run.”

Highly recommended for Sci-fi adventure lovers.

When I saw there was a second installment of The View From Here, I had to grab it immediately! The first book was so excellent and the second did not disappoint. At the end of the first book, I wanted more, but I couldn’t figure out how that could happen with the earthquake. When the book opens with April telling Thomas she found another entrance to the realm they visited, I was excited for the newest adventure of these two friends. It seems they are more prepared on this journey, there are some laughs and a lot of mystery into this world and the beings they are seeing. The description of everything is so excellently worded, I really truly felt I was there, the world I created in my mind was so vivid. I really can’t wait to see what happens in the third book, although I am going to be sad to see it end. This author really has a way with words.

The Second View (The View from Here Trilogy Book 2) by Leon Stevens

The Second View is the second book in The View from Here Trilogy and is a Sci-Fi Adventure that I couldn’t put down. I highly recommend reading the first book if you haven’t already as this one picks up where book one ended. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m hooked already and truly enjoy their style of writing as it’s a bit refreshing to read especially after reading other genres. This story finds Thomas and April on yet another adventure but they will quickly learn things aren’t always as they seem and don’t always goe as planned. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I loved not knowing what was going to happen ahead and the unknown was intriguing. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

The Second View is Book #2 in The View Trilogy by Leon Stevens. It follows on from The View From Here (Book #1) and we pick up with Thomas and April as they set out on another adventure, exploring the world they discovered in Book One. They think they are prepared – but things don’t always go according to plan.
This is a fantastic second instalment in this highly original and interesting sci-fi adventure series. With fantastic detailing and descriptions- Mr. Stevens easily brought his characters and ‘world’ to life, keeping me immersed in the story all the way through to the end. As I mentioned previously, I can see it making a great movie, or TV series.
Bring on Book #3!
Happy reading.

Thank you, Leon Stevens!

This is the second instalment in the story of Thomas and April who initially happen upon each other on a hike and end up in another world and now return to tackle another exploration.
As their adventure continues, several changes to the environment trigger a new set of curiosity and experiences.
The author describes the surroundings in a manner that keeps you engaged and hooked. The characters are likeable, albeit a tad super fit. Their curiosity and courage to explore is delivered very well and keeps the reader wanting more, making the book hard to put down once you start. A good and quick read for a dip into some fun sci-fi. Definitely recommend!

This is really a very interesting book. The second in the series,it will take you back into the center world on another unknown adventure with our travelers. Travel to a place of mystery, a little adventure, a bit of solitude and a lot of sand. Maybe you'll run into AI? I found the story to be engaging in spots yet a little dry in others. I enjoyed reading about the travels into the unknown world. At other times, I sort of felt like it was some type of video game. It also felt like maybe, a warning. Could we face this on our Earth? Fiction or could there also be a little message in the story. It left me thinking about what i read, which is good. I can't wait for the next adventure.

The Second View is book two of The View trilogy which is a sci fi adventure story. I really liked the first book in the trilogy and this one just as much. I love the unexpected and this is what we as readers and the characters come across.

April and Thomas continue in another adventure where everything is unknown. Another place or another time? This imaginative story will entertain whilst keeping you guessing and on your toes. I was once again drawn to Leon’s quirky and vivid imagination. He definitely has a way with words.

I can't wait to see where Leon takes us for the next adventure.

Here we go again!
An earthquake demolished their original entrance to a parallel universe but April found another so off they go to visit and hopefully find their friend flick

However when they enter the vast ocean that was there is gone all sandy bottom which begs the question what happened... where are the residents... what time is it in their parallel world.... is flick even still an existing being?

Don't miss another great Sci fi story with lots of built In logic puzzles, physics, and math along the way!

The descriptions in this story continue to floor me... this author has a vivid imagination and it brings so much to the story!

This book did not skip a beat from the last book, it picks up right from where the first book ends. The development of these characters in this book was very interesting and more in depth which I enjoyed.
This phenomenal job on writing about this strange, unreal world, where things aren’t what you expect had me memorized into what was going to happen. The drama, the adventure to new lands, the conflict, culture, and just trying to make life better, was an interesting read, that I couldn’t have a better follow up book to the first. Highly suggest reading the first book adventure before jumping into Aprils and flicks second.

The second installment of this trilogy was just as interesting as the first. Thomas and April's adventure continues right where it left off in book one. Just as last time, they face challenges along the way, and learn that things don't always go the way we plan. They soon learn to expect the unexpected and know that as long as they have each other, all will be well. This is my second read from this author, and just as in the first book, his world-building is wonderful and the characters are relatable. As I'm not a math/science person, I did get a little lost in some of the details of the story, but not to the point where I could not enjoy it. Looking forward to book #3!

Picking up where we left off from book one, we're tossed back into the sci-fi adventure! I was excited to see this second book and read more about the creative world the author had made. Science fiction may not be my forte, but I really enjoyed reading the first book so decided reading this one would be worth it - and of course, it was! The pace of this book was perfect and the story connected well with the first book and makes way for the third. I can't wait to see where things will go from here!

This book was definitely one of the more interesting ones that I have read this year. Having read the first book, I was pretty excited for the second book and devoured it as soon as it hit my kindle. The characters were as brilliant as before, a brilliant and surreal word, an interesting plot, and so much more that I just simply couldn’t put it down. Our author did an amazing job of picking up where the previous story ended and there is definitely a third book coming. I for one can’t wait to see how this trilogy ends.

I was so excited to see this second book in The View From Here series. April and Thomas are off on another adventure. The wonderful part of this series is that you will not stop turning the pages. You want to know what is coming and what happens next. This second book takes us back to the universe that they discovered in the first book. Trying to find out what happened to the inhabitants. This book series is really interesting and I am anxiously awaiting the next.

I was exciting to start reading the second book in this trilogy as I had enjoyed the first so much. I am pleased to say it lived up to my expectations. It was great to revisit the characters and the worlds. I was so easy to jump straight back in it was almost like I had moved from book one immediately into book two.
This series is definitely a brilliant sci-fi series so far and I am very much looking forward to book three. I can’t wait to read more about these characters and their journey.

I am so happy to learn that Leon Stevens has turned this into a trilogy. I am not a fan of sci fi but the world building in this book and the first before it is amazing. The imagery and attention to detail is fantastic. This is a fast, well paced read that leaves you wanting more in all the right ways. I am excited to see what the third installment has in store for readers.

Thomas and April return in this second instalment in the View From Here and this new adventure all starts with a text from April saying “I think I found it.” She is of course talking about the door, the door to the other world, ever since the last one was closed, they have been wondering what would happen to them now, they are very much still friends, but they have never forgotten the experiences they had beyond the other door.

Thomas goes straight to April’s house as soon as he gets the text and she cannot wait to tell him what she has found, so when she practically throws some papers with graphs and charts at him, along with some excellent coffee, she explains what she has found and why she thinks that it is a new doorway, as well as where it is and as they are both excited and the idea they could see their friend Flick again sets them into planning mode, so they book a trip, organise their supplies and head out.

The journey to the designated area is easy and uneventful, but as they enter the doorway, in yet another cave, they do not know what to expect when they get through to the other side, but they know whatever they find, that it will be another adventure, but what they do see is definitely not what they thought it would be, so a reformulation of the plan is in order.

Their motto of “expect the unexpected” is well and truly the order of the day, but what will they find this time round and will they be able to find their friend again? This is another dystopian adventure across a familiar, yet strange world where nothing is what it seems and knowledge is always on the horizon as you get sucked into exploring alongside the characters and being amazed at what is found along the way.

I read all of the trilogy and will be posting the same review for each book.

I found the series to be enjoyable, intriguing and amusing. Stevens gives us a read that is not demanding but remains compelling in that it sparks curiosity and wonder.

If such a thing exists I would call the series a science fiction comfort read. His two main characters pair for an excellent buddy dynamic. A younger lady, April, and older gentleman, Thomas, find unexpected friendship and the joy of wonder in exploring a strange and enigmatic world that is their very own secret.

The buddy dynamic shines with smooth humorous teasing/gotcha lines that carry a deeper understanding that Thomas and April genuinely cherish their friendship. The interplay is well written and feels incredibly natural.

The world they explore is a riddle requiring some thought in solving and sometimes just a roll of the dice. I enjoyed following along with the April and Thomas to see what the next obstacle held in store for them and how they would address it.

I could easily imagine myself in their boots and wondered how I might react or what choices I would make.

With one exception in the plot this is a feel good scifi read. You'll have to read the series to find out what that exception is.

Don't hesitate to click the buy button.

Nicely done Mr. Stevens.

I had dearly loved the first book by this wonderful author, in the same series. This one appealed in many ways as well to me. It was beautiful, with its own contrast. I could not put this down, I was deeply moved.

The story continued from events of the previous, with a nice flow and tone. I was deeply immersed as I read. Beauty was all around, as the reading went on. I found this time, our characters got more than they anticipated at first glance! Great characters and their development as I read. I was intrigued all the way. I absolutely enjoyed this and how the author writes with their writing style! There was much to love!

Wonderful part 2 of the first book. It definitely exceeded my expectations for all that it was, and all that it held. A must read all around. Highly recommend this book, and if you have not read the previous, do so!

This is book 2 in The View Trilogy series. I do highly recommend reading these books in order so you have a full understanding of the story and what had happened to get to this point.

We are back with Thomas and April as they go back on an adventure to discover the world they found in the last book. This time they feel prepared and think they know what to expect. But things aren't what they seem and they find themselves in situations neither expected.

The author does an amazing job with the character and creating the worlds. The science behind the world's and the details really make you feel like this fantasy place could really exist.

I can't wait to see what happens next with these two and what other things they will discover.

April and Thomas continue in this second book in The View trilogy, and pick up right where book 1 left off. As with many sci-fi stories, not everything tends to go as planned, as they continue to explore the world they have discovered. Exploring this desolate world brings to question many things. Where is everyone…what happened here…where are they…or when? I especially am drawn to the way the author builds his worlds, so vivid and full of explanation and detail. Between the mysteries left to be solved, and the humor mixed within, this book did not disappoint at all, and leaves plenty of room to expand into the next installment. Definitely grab book 1 before delving into this one, you will not be disappointed. Well done and well written!

The moment I heard there was a sequel to the first book in this series I snatched it up so quickly! The book starts out following the ending of the first book, with the park being partially destroyed by the earthquake, but shortly after the start the characters find themselves back in the alternate universe they discovered in the previous book. The adventure the characters find themselves in was just as good as the one in the first book, if not better in my opinion. Similar to the first, the author does an amazing job at including details of the world they are exploring to the point that it feels like you are there with them. I definitely had high expectations going into this book, and the author certainly didn’t disappoint!
