Can a perky optimist and a moody bachelor overcome their differences to discover that opposites make the best matches?
Sarah I will let nothing get in my way as I navigate my demanding position on the Home Design Network, especially not a grumpy, gorgeous 6’4 man built like a tank. Jeremy Chance may resent that he’s been assigned to be my babysitter—and he voices it, rudely often enough—but as we tackle the job before us I can’t help but feel drawn into his quiet appeal.
Jeremy Reasons I should never offer home repair help. 1. Everyone takes you and your time for granted 2. The job is never just fifteen minutes 3. The customer is ALWAYS right (especially when they’re WRONG.) 4. And now I've been saddled with an ambitious, take no prisoners workaholic who has no clue what she signed up for
But something about Sarah’s Hayes sweet, frazzled determination tugs at my well-buried heartstrings and I can’t stop myself from helping this hardworking charmer succeed.
Author’s Note: A steamy, swoony, laugh-out-loud workplace romantic comedy with a grumpy hero determined to save the day and a feisty heroine who is realizing that there’s more to her co-worker than just a man that can get the job done. This is a stand-alone romance with a HEA!
Nikki Kiley is an author of Contemporary Romance who lives in a tropical paradise. A voracious reader, who felt transported and transformed by the stories she read, since she was a young girl she dreamt of writing stories that would entertain and move her readers, like she was and still is, by talented authors. Finding herself working from home during lockdown, she could not resist the opportunity to make those lifelong dreams a reality. An accountant by profession, when not working the day job of running a medical office, she spends hours crafting and writing stories about characters – everyday heroes and heroines - earning their chance at love. She makes her home in Puerto Rico with her very handsome husband, two young adult children, and a gentle giant, the bullmastiff, Kira, who many readers will recognize in her stories. She loves the beach, her Nespresso maker, and cupcakes (S’more in particular).
DNF at 40%. I could not get into this book. It seemed like a great concept and I love a good handyman hero, but the first few chapters failed to engage me. The writing style was, frankly, bad. It needed a good edit. It was overly wordy and meandering. I kept wanting to take out a red pen and rewrite the sentences to make them succinct and remove the run ons. I don’t know if this book knew what it wanted to be, a grumpy sunshine? A handyman, blue collar hero trope? But they were working on a home Reno show? But it didn’t feel like they were a production crew. I was confused. Lots of side characters who either already have a book in the series or have one on the burner. I couldn’t keep track of them, and honestly didn’t really care. I’m tapping out now. I have too many other worthy books to read.
Thank you to NetGalley, Victory Editing, and Nikki Kiley for the advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Jeremy and his brothers own a construction crew that has been contracted to do work for the Home Design network, in addition to a show they’ve already started. Then he meets Sarah, the assistant from the network, who he can’t help be attracted to.
This story had some potential. I didn’t read the other books in the series prior to this, but it was described as a stand-alone. I definitely felt like I was missing some backstory and some character info.
Overall, the writing just didn’t flow for me. It felt jumbled, repetitive, and was just tough for me to get into. I finished it, but only to see where the story might lead, and I was ultimately disappointed.
This is the 3rd book in this series, and this is Jeremy and Sarah’s story. Jeremy and his brothers are the construction crew for a Home Design network, and Sarah is an assistant for the network. Jeremy is grumpy, while Sarah is feisty, ambitious, and optimistic, and these two may be complete opposites, but they complement each other perfectly. This is a good story which has humor, witty banter, romance, fun, and love, which leads to a steamy and heartwarming page turner. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am really loving this series of books about the brothers of Chance Construction and their partnership with Home Design Network's program "Renovated". Each book is better than the last as the series is picked up for a full season run. Start at the beginning of the series to learn all the background, or just dive in here in the middle for a crash course in home and office renovation.
This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
This story held my attention from start to finish. The clever way the personality of each main character was developed was so enjoyable.
In Nikki Kiley's Resolved, Sarah falls for Jeremy. This is part of a series with interwoven stories, you do not have to read the others to read this book.
This was my first time reading this author and I found myself enjoying this fun romance with an easy to read opposites attract romance. I loved the characters (particularly Jeremy and Sarah) and I loved the storyline. I really enjoyed that the mc's were both scarred from past experiences, and that bought then together.
Overall I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys romances, opposites to attract romances and heartwarming love at the end.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I very much enjoyed this book. The ending came a little too fast, but I liked the excitement on the way there.
Career driven, scared from love, Sarah is on the path to her dream job. She is assigned to an assistant role in producing a renovation television show and if she succeeds, she will be in the running for several promotions. While on site, she meets Jeremy, a small town, local contractor who challenges her love-life choices.
Thank you to NetGalley, Nikki Kiley and Victory Editing for allowing me an advance eCopy of this book.
Nikki Kiley really hit her stride in the third book in the Chance Brothers series. It can definitely be read as a stand-alone romance novel.
Sarah has been stuck in the admin pool at the Home Design Network in Nashville. She jumps at the chance go to Miami to help the Renovated TV series’ producer. Her first task is to oversee the set up of the office. Managing the project is Jeremy, one of the Chance brothers, whose construction firm provides work for the TV show. He’s a bit grumpy but sparks fly.
I really loved Sarah. Not only is she an optimist, but she’s ambitious. Based upon her childhood experiences, she is fiercely independent. She doesn’t let anyone get her down, even grumpy Jeremy. Behind Jermey’s gruff exterior, there’s a kind and gentle man, who had experienced heartbreak in the past. I particularly liked that Jeremy recognized Sarah’s brains and drive, and that was part of the reason he was attracted to her. Their dialogue was snappy and sparkled.
There were plenty of secondary characters. Sarah’s mother makes an appearance, and it helped readers to understand Sarah. In addition, there was the show’s producer, the main character in the previous book. She was important to the plot, but details of her romance were left out. And of course there were five other Chance brothers…. bros helping bros.
I live in South Florida, and found the descriptions of Miami very accurate. Judging by the description of a Cuban restaurant, I’ve eaten there!
This contemporary romance novels features
- grumpy/sunshine trope - flirty and sparkly dialogue - good sense of place (Miami) - several open door sex scenes 🔥🔥
This was a light-hearted read, perfect for the summer. I look forward to reading more in this series.
Quick Summary: Contemporary romance with a good dose of zing and a large amount of brotherly love
My Review: Resolved by Nikki Kiley was aces as a NA romance. This modern-day love story brought together Jeremy, a by-the-numbers good guy who had been burned by his first love, and Sarah, a no nonsense, career-focused woman with an unstable upbringing who was afraid to give love a chance.
About the Couple: I really liked this story. From the beginning when Jeremy and Sarah met, they struck sparks off each other. Their playfully sarcastic jabs at each other served as a precursor to the hotness which was to come. The thing that worked for them was that they became friends along the way to completing the job before them. As they both worked towards stability in their relationship, they became partners.
About the Brotherly Love: The whole family angle in this story was a huge boon. I adored the Chance brothers. The way that they looked out for one another and showed their love and support gets high fives from this reader. Also, I loved how they welcomed Sarah into the fold. All I know is that I am definitely interested in reading all of their stories. Bring it on!
My Final Say: This was a quick and enjoyable read. It served as a great introduction for what I hope will be a wonderful series. I plan to read every single book.
Rating: 4/5 Recommend: Yes Audience: NA Re-read: Yes
Appreciation is extended to the author and to NetGalley, who provided access to this work in exchange for an honest review. The words I have shared are my own and have not been influenced by the aforementioned in any way.
Sarah works for a house renovation reality TV show on the production and planning side, and Jeremy is involved with the construction side. There may be someone sabotaging the TV show and Jeremy and Sarah are working together in order to solve the problems. The two are physically attracted to each other
There was a lot to like about this story but I found some of the writing a bit cheesy and I lost my patience with the characters doing their will-they-won't-they dance. They get interrupted while making out a couple of times and instead of scheduling a date with more privacy they think the universe is cockblocking them. Jeremy feels possessive of her but wary of committing to a relationship because he thinks she will leave when the TV project is over. Instead of giving her reasons to stay he feels sorry for himself. Her annoying mother's love life is a giant train wreck and Sarah has decided she needs to live differently and find her self-worth in something other than men, so somehow this has her feeling guilty that she likes Jeremy, and she's got the idea she shouldn't openly date someone she met on the job.
Despite the book title, unless I missed something, the sabotage plot thread was never really resolved.

Sarah Hayes was hand-picked by producer Rebecca Walton, sister of the network CEO, to run the local production of Renovated. Jeremy Chance is the brother in charge of estimating, budgets and project organization & management. He was tasked to teach Sarah about the possibles and practicalities of selecting homes and families to appear on the show.
The attraction between Jeremy and Sarah is instant and blazingly hot! But Sarah's family history makes her distrust that chemistry. Jeremy is just as cautious about putting his heart out there after his high school girl dumped him when his lifeplan was short-circuited by a drunk driver. Watching them tiptoe around each other keeps the suspense on high heat.
I received an ARC copy of this story from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to share my review.
The third book in the series has Sarhar Rebecca’s assistant working with Jermey one of the Chance Brothers. The banter between the two of them is good when they are together, yet for a good portion of the book, they are in two different cities. This for me threw off the story in the middle t least between the characters. I understood the reason as far as the story but not as far as the characters. Every time the author went to put them together she would then have them apart. I would be a grumpy bastard as well. She got that part of the story right. Then when you find out that Rebecca was pregnant at the end of the last book and going to Vegas you get nothing about that in this book what the? Though I liked the beginning and the end the middle was difficult. The characters were good like the first two books and though I did not like this one as much as the first two I will just say we all have different days and see things differently as well. I will read this author again. I received this book from Netgalley.com
What I enjoyed most about this book was the tour of the Miami area (there were neat culinary and architectural descriptions), the abundant amount of spice, and the fact that the MCs were both kind, thoughtful adults trying to do their best despite their issues and blind spots.
Unfortunately, the book did not work for me. The premise (A home renovation show? Network? Construction company? Some combination thereof?) was a bit disjointed and there was a very large cast of secondary and tertiary characters that were hard to keep straight and added/dropped seemingly on a whim (especially the male MCs ex--she was introduced and then...not much). There were several writing style issues that became impossible to ignore. The prose is casual to the point of being unpolished, has a tendency to get bogged down in unnecessary detail (I don't need to be told that trucks beep when they back up), and is very repetitive. There's potential for an enjoyable story here, but it's begging for a good edit.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.
It had been a while since I read the first two books as they left Kindle Unlimited. But I noticed they back on so I read this. It was just ok.
Sarah is Rebecca's (last book) assistant. Rebecca and Dale are not together in this book so I'm not sure if this was supposed to run side by side with their book but it threw me off a little. Jeremy is Levi and Dales brother.
The 2 of them are tasked with getting the offices set up. She is late which annoys Jeremy but they are attracted right away.
Its all very insta lust.
I thought Sarah when she spoke was funny. After they have sex one time someone asks how she is and she says she 'I took a pounding today' making Jeremy nearly choke but it was funny but her internal monologues - oh man - she is so hung up on not becoming her narcissistic mother that she was missing what was right in front of her. It was the same thing over and over and over again. Way too repetitive
Jeremey was ok but he was so sure she was going to leave once the office were finished that he could never admit how he felt. He was always yeas I want her, no I don't, yes I do, no I don't. It was annoying.
I honestly can not remember anything else about it. I know there must have been a 3rd act breakup/misunderstanding but I cant think of it right now
I do know her mum needed therapy. She moved from one guy to the next. I think she has 3 men in just this book.
Overall just ok and not a real epilogue
There were a lot of mistakes. Its told from first person but kept switching. At one point it said 'she put her napkin on her knee' but should have been 'I put my napkin on my knee' There no spacing between paragraphs or any kind of gaps . One sentence there in the office next their on the street. There is a bit about 20% in were it finishes the page with a full stop but the next page is halfway through a sentence. Its like a page was missed.
Resolved was my first Nikki Kiley book. And i easily can say that i liked her pen and this book. Enjoyable read. This book is a part of chance brothers. But you can read it like a stand-alone. You don’t have to read the other books in this series.
I want to start of with the characters, our FMC is Sarah, i loved her. She is cute but not gonna lie, sometimes she was annoying. But that’s ok. And then, Jeremy. I loved jeremy too. It was a good experience to see that they both cleansed from their traumas about wrong person and etc. When they both have the same trauma, same bad experiences it’s so cute to read.
Main plotline and storyline was good. I think that if you’re on a slump or etc, Ms Kiley’s pen is going to save you. I highly recommend it!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review 🫶🏻
This book has it all- Sarah and Jeremey are both career driven people who have to overcome their pasts and trust issues to let them fall for each other and we understand why by getting glimpses of his ex and her mother. Their heat, steam and witty dialog is off the charts and so much fun. She has never had a family or anyone she can trust, but the Chance brothers and associated family including her boss Rachel (WOW!) are all there, in her corner and trustworthy - she just has to believe in herself and them. Although this is part of a series (and they are all wonderful and easy to read if you have KU) it can be read as a standalone. It was a great book and I couldn't put it down wanting their HEA. I can't wait for the next one.
Resolved is the third book in the Chance Brothers series but I had no trouble reading it as a standalone. I loved meeting all the Chance siblings; this is Jeremy’s story. This was a grumpy vs. sunshine trope which is one of my favorites. The cute meet between Sarah and Jeremy certainly clued us in on the book's trope. The book was entertaining from the beginning and even though it was fast-paced the plot had layers. I really enjoyed watching Sarah and Jeremy as they learned to work together and became friends. This was a light and fun rom-com that kept you laughing until the end. I look forward to reading more of the Chance siblings’ books. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was a sweet romance, it’s part of a series of interconnected characters. I haven’t read the others yet but It didn’t take away from the story. Jeremy and sarah are total opposites who find themselves attracted to each other. Both have a past that they are trying to get over. Sarah is quite a strong character and fiercely independent and is excited when given the opportunity to assist her producer. Jeremy is the grump to her sunshine. There is definite chemistry here And makes it for easy reading.

I love a Rom-Com as a nice pallet-cleanser! In this Grumpy/Sunshine, workplace romance novel, we follow Sarah and Jeremy on their journey to HEA. Sarah is a career-driven individual with a goal to prove to herself professionally. Sarah is an only child with a mother who depends on men for her happiness. Jeremy is a carpenter and part owner of a construction company with his six brothers. When Jeremy and Sarah are teamed up to work together on a home renovation show, sparks immediately fly, but is Sarah too jaded to open her heart to a man when she’s been so career-driven? Will Jeremy chance another woman breaking his heart when she leaves for bigger and better things than his small town?
This story held my attention from start to finish. The clever way the personality of each main character was developed was so enjoyable. I really loved the sassy, independent heroine vs the hot, broody hero and all the “stolen” moments. The emotions and backstories were well written and relatable. The main as well as the supporting characters had so much depth. This was my first read from this author, now I’m going back to read the first two books in this series because her style of writing has impressed me. I see the side characters that have their own story that I can’t wait to read.

This is the third book in the series, though the timeline is parallel to book 2, and can be read as a standalone although reading in order gives a better insight into the relationship between all the Chance brothers and with the TV network. This is a pleasant romance in which Jeremy and Sarah explore their attraction whilst trying to overcome past experiences and Sarah's expectations of career. The characters are all interesting and likeable. Enjoyable romance. I received an ARC of this book from Booksprout but voluntarily leave this review.
Sarah Hayes and Jeremy Chance had some life experiences that make them shy away from any kind of commitment. Sarah works for a Home Design Network, and Jeremy’s family owns a construction crew working for the network as well. Sarah and Jeremy are attracted to each other. While Sarah sees Jeremy as a grump who complains too much, he sees her as an ambitious and demanding workaholic. But they can’t help but try to get together and interact. Will they give whatever is between them a chance to develop further?
Sarah is an admin at Home Design and has been given an opportunity in Miami to help Rebecca. Jeremy is the Chance brother that handles the project estimates and starts helping Sarah on the projects she been given. Both have been burned in the past and are hesitant to start anything but then things heat up between them. This was an easy read, fast paced with some humor and steam. Can be read as a stand-alone in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Chance Brothers saga Co tiniest with Kiley's newest release Resolved. In this story, Rebecca's assistant, Sarah, falls for Jeremy. They each achieve love by pulling each other out of their thoughts. Jeremy didn't think he was enough because of his scars and past luck with love, while Sarah was scarred from a childhood with a mother who was always running toward the wrong man. I enjoyed the story and the cameos of characters from the previous books.
Resolved A Grumpy Sunshine Romantic Comedy by NIKKI KILEY
Sara has just been employed on a trial basis as the administrator of The Home Design Network and Jeremy’s family run a construction company and they do the physical part of redesign program. Jeremy is overseeing Sarah and she is overwhelmed by it all.
A well written and easy to read book.
Loved the characters especially Jermery’s younger brothers working with him who all have an opinion.
Very enjoyable easy read. 4.5/5

Easy to read, but maybe a bit too many characters in the story? I liked the main characters and their interactions, but the premise itself did not engage me much. Maybe because I am not into renovation tv shows at all. I do however like the grumpy hero-trope, so that saved it for me. Overall an enjoyable book!
I want to thank Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book. All opinions are my own.
Author isn't subtle about the insta-attraction she brings to the characters, from the 1st chapter. Typos, poor grammar, missing punctuation, missing words (" is first on my list.") all annoy the reader. The writing style is too much (repetitive) detail; borders on cheesy at times. She has a sociopath for an annoying mom. The ONE plus to this story is the setting; I like the Cuban/Latin atmosphere.
So excited to finally read the 3rd installment of the Chance Brothers series. It can be a stand alone read but you get invested in the characters and want to know what happens next. Being Latin and living in Miami, I love all the references. I am really getting into Nikki Kiley series. This is a great beach read, easy and fun. Love the romance and family dynamic
A very enjoyable read. I really enjoyed reading Jeremy and Sarah’s story. Loved how Sarah treated Jeremy when he was being grumpy. The two were well suited and I cannot wait to read the rest of the Chance Brothers meeting their match.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a pleasant little romance that provided a good beach read. The plot is fairly predictable and the couple is a bit insipid but it still makes a good story. And, there are five other hot brothers that, no doubt, will have their own stories to come. I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway for this honest review.
Really great book!! I Loved the chemistry between Jeremy and sarah, and I thought the concept of having a romance set in the background of a home renovation set was super original!.
