Nope. No, no, no, no.

I don't know what I expected going into this, but what I got certainly wasn't it.

When I reached the 16% mark and the had already started getting physical with each other I knew this book wasn't for me. The FMC and the guys went from 0 to 60 at breakneck speed. No emotional connection whatsoever. I could probably look over that if the smut was any good, but it wasn't really.

Everything happened so fast at the beginning. One of the guys sees the FMC get beaten by some other dudes, saves her and then leaves. She then tracks him down because she thinks he can help her find her brother, just because he saved and beat the other guys up. He and the second guy in the harem refuse to help her, the they send the third guy in the harem to keep an eye on her. Some of the bad guys break into her house to kidnap her?? and the the Guy no.3 rescues her and takes to the house he shares with Guy no.1 and Guy no.2. And the we learn that a few days pass and they start having sex and they decide to help her.

I didn't feel anything for anyone. The heroine was annoying, childish and cringe sometimes. The guys didn't get enough chapters imo, so it was hard to connect with them. The plot wasn't engaging enough and I found it rather boring. And as I said before not even the smut could save this book.

I started skimming after the 50% because I wasn't interested in anything.

I mostly liked this book. It’s not my favorite by this author, but I appreciate the effort that went on it. The characters’ struggles feel real, and the mercenary side of things – dealing with people from the underworld – was nicely detailed, something I have to mention because of a recent bad experience with a different book also dealing with romance and the world of crime. That book wishes it was Given to the Mercenaries.

What I definitely did not like was Brynn. Both she and the men like to say she’s not a damsel in distress, as if the book didn’t open with her getting beaten by multiple men in a filthy alley and being rescued, due to her own idiocy. Between that, her constantly storming off in a snit because she isn’t getting her way (by which I mean ‘the guys won’t let her put herself in unnecessary danger’), and regularly wandering away on her own despite being told by three experienced mercenaries to not do that – she is a very unlikeable character. Not the worst I’ve ever read, but one I can’t see one, let alone three men, liking.

Then again, the entire romance aspect of the book felt rushed. One chapter shows them being wary of one another, the next one they’re banging on the couch because after an off-screen week together they’re just that close. Previous to that, the pacing was fine. Then someone hit the Fast Forward button because they simply couldn’t wait for the smut to start. It was a bit jarring, is all I’m saying.

And while I like smut as much as the next person, I wish the epilogue had covered the loose thread that was Evan. Did he get clean? Did he go back to a life of crime? What about Brynn’s Event Planning business? I would have loved to hear about any of that more than the extra smut.

I still liked it, mind you. It’s just not my favorite book by Krista Wolf.

Krista has written another great RH!! I loved Brynne and her men. The sparks were flying and the scenes were really spicy. I loved the last group scene. There was also just enough drama to keep it interesting. I can't wait for the next one.

At 16% I could not go on any further. At first I thought this was a first book for this author, but no. Not my first RH, so it started off as a difficult read because there was very little cohesiveness. There was zero connection or anything leading up to any chemistry between the MCs.
Completely lost my interest, it was almost silly.

This is a definite must have for any reverse harem romance collector because of it's sizzling chemistry between its three male leads and single female plus it has an original storyline that hooks the reader, so it's not all about the steamy scenes. This book starts out with Brynne Fletcher following a man she knows hung out with her brother who's currently missing. She's hoping that by secretly trailing the guy she can find out where her brother has disappeared to. She is at a local club watching her brother's acquaintance skirt around in the dark corners surrounding the dance floor. She sees him meet up with his twin brother and then continue out a back door. She makes the decision to continue following him and when she goes out the door she finds out what a mistake it is because while she thought she was being inconspicuous she was seen following him. She steps through the door into the quiet alley and then something hits her hard in the side of her face. She falls to the asphalt and is set upon by three men. They are beating her up when a stranger passing by comes to her rescue. Her rescuer takes care of the three guy pummeling her and actually recognizes him as someone he needs to stay away from, either him or his brother. He grabs the arm of Brynne and hustles her down the block, constantly checking over his shoulder to make sure they aren't followed. It starts to rain so he gives her his jacket to give her some protection. When they get several blocks away he stops her and gets a good look at her and finds her very beautiful. He hears someone coming behind them and her presses her between his body and the wall. He can feel every inch of her. Their eyes meet and they share a smile. He removes his jacket and gives her directions to the local hospital and police station. He doesn't think she'll go and she says that she won't. He leaves her with the advice to stay away from the Lozanos. The next day she gets off of work and gets on the bus to head home. While on the bus she reflects on the night before incident. It helps that she has a near photographic memory because she remembers certain details about her rescuer. Putting it all together she shows up a local large MMA gym located in the center of town. She gets in the gym and starts looking around. She approaches the boxing ring and sees two men boxing with each. She waits until they're done and approaches one who looks eerily like her rescuer from the previous night so she asks if she can talk to him.He brings her to his office and ends up telling her that he may know the guy who helped her. While they're talking to each other in waltzes her rescuer. Her rescuer, who she learns is named Silas, relays the other evening's occurrences to the boxer, Santiago. She explains why she was following one of Lozanos because he was the last person to be seen with her brother who is now missing. She asks them for help in finding him and points out the men's matching tattoos which allude to liberating the oppressed. She poses the question to them if the tattoos actually mean something to them or was it just something to decorate their arms with. Santiago tell her, they can't help her and for her to leave. She's on her own again. She goes to a bar that she and her brother would go to and starts drinking her troubles away. She ends up finding out from the bartender that the men at that particular gym are mercenaries and people went to them when in serious trouble. She thinks to herself how much she needs their help and the never mentioned their services or even given her a price. Instead they turned her away. Later on, at her apartment, a group of men are seen breaking into her place. The person watching this occur is Cody, a member of the group of mercenaries she visited at the gym. The ones that asked her to leave, forcing her to face her problems on her own. Cody sneaks up on the people breaking into her apartment systematically stopping them in their tracks, non-lethally. He gets to Brynne before the criminals could harm her. He tells her to get dressed and escorts her out of the place calling her by name; telling her that there's four guys trying to kill her and he's the one guy trying to save her. Before she leaves with him a shaggy brown dog comes bounding to her and they all get in the car he stole earlier. They take off and he brings her to the safe house he lives in with Silas and Santiago. Silas isn't that happy with Cody for doing that because Santiago is going to be peeved. Cody tells Silas a play by play recollection of that night's activities. Silas asks him if he wore his mask and Cody tells him he didn't have time to put it on before the attackers struck. Brynne asks them if she should just go talk to them, then they will leave her alone. Cody and Silas both yell no at the same time. Cody tell her to stay there where they can make sure she's safe by keeping an eye on her. Next, it's movie night at the men's house that Brynne is now staying at. She sits between the men with a bowl of popcorn on her lap with her barely there shorts and her long naked legs on full display. She's definitely getting noticed by both Silas and Cody, of which both of them find her enticingly sexy and gorgeous. Before too long they are all full on flirting with each other.and things are definitely heating up between the three of them. Thoughts are running through Brynne's head, who should she choose, but why choose? Silas gets up from the couch and goes to the bathroom. In the meantime Cody and Brynne start kissing each other. Before too long, Silas comes back and joins in the fun. They promise to make it enjoyable for her, each taking their turn to fill her with pleasure. Then Cody picks her up off the couch and brings her to a bedroom where he deposits her on the bed and Silas is not far behind them. After a long night of pleasure, they all go to sleep exhausted. Brynne is surrounded by her gorgeous protectors on either side of her. Sleep comes quickly for her because she feels totally safe. At the first light of morning Brynne slowly wakes up, glances at the sleeping giants around her and looks at the bottom of the bed to find Santiago standing there eating a bowl of cereal. She starts to tell him that it's not what it looks like when he tells her that it " looks to him that she screwed a Navy SEAL and a MARSOC Scout Sniper totally and completely unconscious." She couldn't tell if he was impressed or jealous so she kept her mouth closed. He tells her to get dressed that he needs her to come some where with him. Here is where I'll leave you but just know that the heat is far from over in this book. It is a definite sizzler! It seems that the three men are actually going to help her find her missing brother, but the question is at what cost to all of them. Will Brynne break through the stoic walls that Santiago keeps himself hidden behind? Will he finally break and let Brynne in to see the real him? Is Brynne's brother back on drugs and just staying away from her so she doesn't see him addicted again? These and more questions will be answered in the rest of the book. It is really a fantastic reverse harem to sink your teeth into with a fabulous, original and realistic storyline with strong alpha male protectors. Plus a strong female character who will stop at nothing to keep her loved ones and family safe. It's a definite must have and a perfect addition to any reverse harem collection. Be warned though, the heat coming off these pages just might melt you e-reader... it's scorching!!.

Super hot, sexy and exciting read.

Another stunner of a sexy book from Krista Wolf. She really knows how to write brilliant, strong, courageous woman, and the men - phew! Sexy, swoony, sweet and sensational. Silas, Cody and Santiago are not exception - and the magic they make with Brynne in the bedroom (or elsewhere!) is quite something else. I also enjoyed the intrigue and danger of the story and the importance of family and 'brotherhood' to the characters.

Dangereux et extrêmement risqué. Alors, lorsqu’elle se retrouve secourue par un homme, Bryanne ne s’attendait pas à le revoir le lendemain, dans un club de boxe. Krista Wolf a une plume incroyablement sensuelle, superbement enivrante et particulièrement intense. Elle ajoute toujours une touche d’aventure surprenante, de suspense intrigant et de péripéties entraînantes. J’ai passé un délicieux moment avec ces personnages; on pouvait facilement distinguer qui était qui. Par ailleurs, ils étaient particulièrement émouvants et doux. Malheureusement, j’ai trouvé ce roman drôlement court… Toutefois, j’ai adoré l’histoire et les péripéties. À lire!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "GIVEN TO THE MERCENARIES" OMG!!!! This hooks you from the start its a page turner for sure full of riviting intense action packed scenes, suspense, intrigue, angst, emotional turmoil, secrets, danger, steamy scenes, twists that make this a very addicting read.
Brynne is looking for her brother Evan whos disappeared on the streets of Oakland she looked for weeks nothing she's alone broke, her search out her on Loranzi's crime family's radar apparently her brother go in with some bad guys.
Silas, Cody & Santiago military ex-special forces now mercenaries for hire have become Brynne's saviors when she needed someone in her darkest time of her life she wasn't their plan but became their shared goal to help her safe in their underground apartment things heat up quickly their chemistry was scorching hot.
Brynne has not only trouble for herself but for Silas, Cody & Santiago when the vicious Mexican Cartel rears its ugly head on the streets of Oakland even the deadliest of men have to watch their backs.

Given to the Mercenaries is a very spicy reverse harem book by Krista Wolf. Our heroine Brynne is looking for her brother Evan who unfortunately got mixed up with some really bad guys. Brynne decides to follow a guy her brother was last seen with it into an alley where she is attacked and fortunately saved by a mercenary. Silas intervenes and saves her from the guys. Brynne notices Silas’ tattoo and is able to track him down at a gym that him and his friends (Cody and Santiago) own. Although she has no money to hire these mercenaries to rescue her brother something about her appeals to them. Cody later rescues Brynne again when they attempt to harm her in her apartment. Cody brings Brynne to their apartment to keep her safe. When they are staying safe in the apartment is when all the fun begins.
In the midst all the leads they follow to find her brother they engage in a lot of sex. There are numerous scenes where she is with at least two of the men, and a few with all three. There were some touching scenes where she is with one man at a time and that’s when we get to see her fall in love with the man as she gets to know him personally.
The mystery was great. There was a lot of action in the book. Sex was plentiful and hot. I especially appreciated that Brynne wasn’t one of those helpless female characters. She was strong and determined and the men respected that and treated her like an equal. This book delivers all that reverse harem promises.

I love Krista Wolf reverse harem novels because they start with a rush and add a long unravelling with action, suspense, a lot of heat, and a bit of humor.

This one is no exception. The women are very devoted; Brynne is searching for her missing brother, Evan who appears to have fallen in with the wrong crowd. The emotional journey of what Brynne finds when she is rescued then helped at different times by the mercenaries is what keeps me reading.

These men are tough, tender, smart, and just enough to keep up with the incredibly smart, but clearly not always street smart Brynne. As an RH story, it worked well.

The one aspect of Brynne that can be annoying is when she is clearly out of her depth and does not acknowledge it. Knowing something with one's head and using common sense to stay out of dangerous situations without prearranged backup are two different scenarios.

A few times, I wondered if Brynne was going to be killed or worse because her actions did not make a sense in terms of self-protection.

Overall, I would recommend it to lovers of a good reverse harem novel.

Thank goodness it's Winter for me at the moment because this was one tremendously "HOT" story to read.
Fantastic characters each and everyone of them, even Sebastian the dog.
I was honestly left wondering how on earth does an Author come up with some of those mentioned scenarios and positions!!!
I think reverse harem romances have become my all time favourite after reading this story.
Not only are you taken on a wonderful physical ride but also a highly emotional one in the search to find Brynne's brother Evan Fletcher with the help from three scrumptious mercenaries all while trying to avoid two both equally dangerous groups. A well constructed plot with a great balance of erotic romance, corruption, enough danger lurcking everywhere, sensuous hot ex military men reading to protect the woman they love.

Our heroine is trying to find her brother who seems to be mixed up with some very bad dudes. She is in way over her head, so it is a good thing that our heroes came along when they did.

Once again we have another steamy military reverse harem story from our author, something that she does quite well. The story is well written with a nice combination of action and steam. The characters are well developed, with each of the men having a distinct personality and style. And once things take a turn for the carnal, the reader is treated to a variety of styles and approaches there as well. Overall, it was a fun and sexy read. It is not a short book, but it is an easy read, providing some nice weekend entertainment.

Highly recommended.

Given to the Mercenaries is a delightful romantic suspense penned by Krista Wolf. In it readers follow the Brynn Fletcher and three mercenaries—Silas Floreo a former marine scout. Cody Abraham, a former SEAL; and Santiago Romero, a former green beret. In this polyamorous relationship, readers follow along as these three rugged and strong mercenaries help Brynn locate her brother, Evan, a drug addict. This searching journey is filled with suspense as they travel through the world of organized crime families. Their romantic journey is touching as all participants heal emotional wounds as their love grows. Ms. Wolf does a superb job creating multi-dimensional lead characters. I like that they have a support system with a cast of secondary characters. Dialog is rich. The sexual relationship is explicit so if this offends you as a reader than be weary of reading this book. The plot is more than a sexual one so for me the suspense and intrigue in wading through the criminal underworld garnered my interest. I really wanted to find out what happens with finding Evan.

I wish I loved this book but unfortunately this one did not do it for me. I usually enjoy Krista’s RH books but for some reason I found myself struggling a little to read this.

Given to the Mercenaries brings us Brynne, a strong and stand on your own bad ass who goes out of her way to find her brother who got caught up with the wrong crowd and has been missing for a few days. The only people Brynne could think to turn too were the owners of the local mixed martial arts gym. Not only were they fighters, but they were mercenaries who took an interest in Brynne and her struggles. With the protection and help of her mercenaries it’s not long before they became close and created their own little unit.

This book was so close to being amazing for me. There were just one or two things that just didn’t do it for me. For instance, I didn’t particularly care for Brynne’s know it all, do it yourself attitude when it came to things. While she could stand on her own, finding her brother alone was never a possibility and I wish she knew that before she kept on walking away from the people trying to help her. She was just almost too stubborn. Aside from that, the only other thing was that I just needed more. I felt like so much was thrown together in this story. I think it wouldn’t have felt so rushed if just slowed down and maybe elaborated a little more on certain things.

What I did love was the overall concept of the book. The guys background was really neat, so was their initial meeting. I liked the fact that they were all into MMA and that they owned the local gym. It seemed really bada**. For the most part I really enjoyed this book. It still doesn’t top some of Krista’s other works but I’d still recommend this to RH readers.

Brynne's brother is into drugs and has gotten involved with some bad people. When she tries to follow a lead, it lands her in some trouble. Silas steps in to help her and gets her out safely. Brynne wants his help, so she tracks him down to ask for it. What she didn't count on was Santiago and Cody. Sparks fly between them all and they come up with an arrangement before they go looking for her brother. Will they find her brother? Will something more serious grow between them?

This is a great story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. It's a book that any book lover would enjoy.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I love a story that’s more than just romance, this story has lots of intrigue and action against the gangs who are well known for destroying peoples lives. Brynne, Santiago, Cody and Silas are combining their skills to find Brynne’s brother who has gone missing.

Who knew that following one of the leaders of a gang would bring danger to her life? Brynne was in luck when Santiago was passing the lane when three men set upon her. What started as a job, turned into lots of hot steamy sexy times and finally ended up being a happily ever after.

This book rocks! When her brother goes missing, Brynne finds herself in a bit of trouble with the wrong people. Silas will be the first to step in to help and soon his friends Cody and Santiago are in on it as well. The four soon find themselves unable to deny the chemistry between them as they do their best to find her brother. Answers will be found and danger will be involved but it will all work out in the end in a wonderful way. I love the sassiness between Brynne, Silas, Cody and Santiago as they grow closer each day to not only each other, but to their shared happily ever after.

Krista is a master at writing reverse harem books and Given to the Mercenaries is just another example of how great she is. Brynne is the main character and is trying to find her brother who has fallen in with some really bad guys. Silas stumbles upon the situation and helps her out. Later she finds him as well Santiago and Cody and at first they act like they aren't going to help at all. But when the bad guys come after her. Cody is there to protect her and take her away. Then they all come to a agreement they help her and she gives them herself. Along the ofcourse they fall in love. And we all get our HEA.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Brynne is a little over her head, investigating the disapearance of her brother, who's fallen into the wrong circles of "friends". Never did she even think, she might get help by three muscle-bulking mercenaries she's stumbled over. Within a couple days the for of them are a team that not only concentrates in finfing her brother but other activities as well. With a huge sword over their heads - a time's set up to meet with some ... people ... but something just might turn ugly for some participants... Great story with a lot of action!

Cody, Silas and Santiago rescue her a couple of times. I liked how resourceful Brynne is and how she convinces them to help her. The four share very hot times while discovering what happened to Evan. The local crime family crossed the wrong people and by exposing it, they got Evan back. There was lots of danger in the story and all four fell in love. It was nice how the guys got Brynne while providing for Evan.

This is a great read if you are into reverse harem! This has a good storyline, along with lots of sexy time. I love the guys and they all have different personalities. Brynne can be childish at times, but after giving her a moment she figures it out. The back story line was good too, although I wish we would have gotten more epilogue with her brother and what was going on there. This was a fast paced, page turner read, I read in one afternoon!.

Krista write great RH and does it again with Given to the Mercenaries. Brynne’s troubles brother goes missing and she is determined to find out why. She gets tangled with the mob and a swoon worthy hunk comes to her rescue. Little did she know that there were two others who she needed help from to find her brother. The men are brothers in arms and come together to help. Some great sexy sexy time on this book and always a happy ending. Another great.

Brynne was searching for her brother who had gone missing and needed help. She happened upon a group of mercenaries who owned a gym and asked the three guys Santiago, Silas and Cody for help.
This was steamy, romantic and full of non stop action and dangerous situations. It was so good, all the drama and the intense moments.
This was a truly good reverse harem story with really wonderful characters you can't help but adore. Fantastic book!!!.

Totally enjoyed this book. The storyline is really good and the characters even better. Brynne gets into trouble while looking for her brother. Its Cody, at first who rescues her from the men then Silas and Sebastian who are there as well. The men are mercenaries, but have they bitten of more than t hey can habdle when they are dealing with really bad men.
A good book to read i know readers will just love this story.

She Has Nothing But Herself As Payment…

Brynne is searching for her brother (he’s gotten mixed up in drugs and gangs) and she needs help. Silas, Cody and Santiago are former military, current gym owners and mercenaries. They reluctantly offer to help her, even though she has no money to pay them with. I enjoyed how strong and determined Brynne was - she wants to find her brother and keep her men whatever the cost - and she’s smart and quick enough to succeed. This book is pack with hot and filthy bedroom action along with the action on the streets, making it a great page-Turner.

I thought this romance was just so exciting and steamy hot. It starts off with some excitement and then Brynne meets Silas, Cody and Santiago. She somehow gets them involved with something evil and dangerous, and these men will band together to keep her safe. The chemistry Brynne has with these men is definitely hot and totally steamy! I found this book to be another great read from Krista Wolf.

Hold on tight...
I won't dwell on the story which has been covered by prior reviews. It was such a compelling read although I questioned which way was up at times. The heroine was delightful & the three hero hunks were former military special forces who were also experts in the bedroom where they claimed & shared their gorgeous woman who you'll likely envy. The dialogue was great & I now rank Krista as the Queen of RH. Highly recommended. I recived an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

I always enjoy reverse harem books written by Krista Wolf because they always have great flow and the chemistry between the characters is more than just in the bedroom. This book was no exception and Brynne was such a strong person who was trying to find her brother. I loved that Silas, Cody and Santiago were ex special forces and found Brynne just in time to help her and them getting together was very enjoyable.

Brynne is a far better person than I am. Would I look for my brother if he was missing? Absolutely. Would I look for him if he got mixed up in cartel and mob business? …….. I’ll hopefully never have to answer that!
The guys are all pretty great, with Cody, maybe, my favorite. The bad guys are ok, but it is mob and cartel business so there is that. The only reason it lost a star is because I can’t decide how I feel about her payment type.
