Four years ago, Sierra and Mickey had a hot encounter neither could forget. But Sierra’s family would never approve of a match with the guy from the wrong side of the tracks -- so she runs from his bed, trying to forget it ever happened.
Nine months later, her little bundle of joy ensures that she will always remember.
Mickey left town long before Sierra’s belly grew big, so her secret is safe.
Or so she thought.
Three years later, Mickey, now a famous rock star, returns for a wedding in their hometown. And when Sierra runs into him, she discovers she still has all those feelings.
He’s in town for just a little while. What would one more passionate encounter with the hot bad boy hurt?
It should be fine . . . So long as she can keep her secret . . .
Enjoy the newest Tangled Web series book -- a steamy single mother - secret baby - second chance - rock star romance!
Jade C. Jamison writes steamy contemporary romance that’s full of heat, heartbreak, and hard rock. Known for emotionally raw rockstar romances, sizzling billionaire stories, and unforgettable second chances, Jade delivers passionate stories with fierce heroines and brooding heroes.
When she's not writing, she's jamming to metal, sipping strong coffee, or spoiling her pets and family. Whether set in small-town Colorado or on tour with a band, her books take readers on an intense, romantic ride—one story at a time.
Ms. Jamison is one of those authors that knows how to write a book that pulls you in from the very first page until you turn that last one taking you away in a world you want to escape in. Her rock romances are books that are always my favorites and Totally Off Limits checked all the boxes.
Sierra and Mickey shared a night together but then she ran because her family would never approve of him because he was the bad boy that parents don’t think are good enough for their daughters. Mickey left town to become a rock star but now three years later he’s back home for a wedding and knows nothing of a secret that Sierra was keeping from him.
I loved the second chance romance especially when bad boy makes good in life. I can only hope for more rock romances from this author.
I loved it! Nothing good can come out of the decision to keep secret the sperm donor that gave you your 3 year old daughter, but Sierra and Mia were perfectly happy living in their own isolation. Nobody knew the name of Mia’s father. Meanwhile everyone loved Mia! Sierra’s parents doted on her during the day when Sierra went to school, and even Sierra’s close friend, Mickey, enjoyed playing with her when he would visit. Mickey was a musician in a rock band whom Sierra had dated several years before, and happened to run into again at a wedding reception. She tried to hide, but that didn’t work. She simply did not want to rekindle what they had, and hoped they could just be good friends. Would this work out? Or did Mickey have a different idea?
I love Jade Jamison’s books and this one didn’t disappoint. It is Book 5 in the series, Tangled Web Rockstar Romances, but could very easily be read as a stand-alone.
Totally Off Limits by Jade Jamison is the 5th book in her Tangled Web rockstar series. Jade knows how to entice 1readers into her stories with good storylines, plausible plots, and steamy love scenes—filled with drama, indecision, and unrequited love with a three-year-old toddler’s future hanging in the balance. The story unfolds as Sierra encounters her childhood friend, Mickey, and former one nightstand at a friend’s wedding. The sparks still arc, but each wants more, but neither is sure “more” can happen. What a read! Character transformations occur between the pages, not only with Mickey and Sierra but with side characters. Jade Jamison’s entire Tangled Web series is a must-read. Totally Off Limits can be read as a standalone, but the reader will know more of the back stories when the complete series is read. A prequel named Anything But is a novella n the Tangled rockstar books about Mickey’s and Sierra’s one-night stand. Any book by Jade Jamison is a refreshing story in which readers need to immerse their selves.
Awesome Second Chance Romance Another great rockstar romance by Jade C. Jamison. It is well written with exceptional characters. Sierra and Mickey have been drawn to each other since they were grammar school, however, Sierra is always striving for her family’s approval and her family would never approve of a friendship between the two of them. However, after one hot steamy night they are attached forever. Now almost four years later Mickey is back in town for a wedding. The steam is still there, but so is all the baggage and now secrets as well. I was so captivated by the tangled web of their story I could not put the book down till I was done. Love Jade C. Jamison's writing. I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.
I've loved this series for years, and this story was fabulous just like the others.
This is Sierra and Mickey's story who shared a one night stand years ago but she ghosted him afterwards. He left to become a Rockstar and sees her again when he returns a couple years later for a wedding... and she's been keeping a secret for that whole time!!! Her three year old daughter, Mia, who was the best thing to come from that magical night together. Except Mickey doesn't seem to be able to connect the dots... lol.
Jade C. Jamison is the queen of Rockstar romances and this book is Double-Platinum. Every girl loves a bad boy especially one in a band. Sierra and Mickey have a history going back to grammar school and enough sparks to be the pyrotechnics at one of his concerts, add in a ex boyfriend, a controlling, judgmental mother and a secret child, you will not be able to put this book down.
This is a captivating second chance romance with defined main characters, I loved the sweet Rockstar hero but was less than impressed with the heroine whose family biases seem to mean more than being open to her love interest. There is drama, steam, a secret baby, a meddling mother, and a second chance at happiness. I liked this book. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
Jade Jamison knows how to write a story with real characters and real issues. Not giving too much away but I absolutely hated Sierra. Because I actually knew someone like her and I never understood how she lived her life and was so unhappy. Thanks for helping me understand her, Jade! This book was my favorite of this series, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mickey was such a sweetheart, too. Well done, Jade Jamison!
I received an ARC of this book from the author and it’s another one of those books that take place in Winchester, CO, and connects to other characters in several different rock bands. It’s hard for me to keep track of who’s who, but I’ve loved all of them. I’m going to describe the plot because I think it’s necessary to understand my review. Some might think it contains spoilers, but I disagree because most of it is fairly obvious from the beginning. I mean, it follows a formula. Nevertheless, if you want to avoid a plot summary, skip three paragraphs.
Sierra is caring for Mia who is the child of Mickey (a bass player), but she hasn’t told him Mia is his. There are multiple reasons—when she discovered she was pregnant she went to tell him and couldn’t find him because he had moved, but more importantly, she is convinced her parents would never approve of him. Several years later, she runs into him at the wedding of mutual friends and he wants to catch up with her. She doesn’t want to spend any time with him because she’s afraid he’ll figure out the secret she is keeping. To be clear, she hasn’t told another living soul. Despite her reluctance to spend any time with him, she cannot help herself because she truly cares for him. However, every time she begins to fantasize about having a life with him, she convinces herself they can never have a happily-ever-after. Even when he tells her he loves her, she is stopped by her fear. Every time they get too close, she runs away, a behavior he has commented upon repeatedly. He’s surprisingly patient and understanding.
Meanwhile, Sierra’s parents have decided that she should marry Austin—her high school/first boyfriend and son of rich parents whom they wish to tie themselves. At the same time, Mickey confronts Sierra and accuses her of keeping Mia from him. He is disgusted with her, and for good reason, because he has given her so many opportunities to confess and she has lied every time.
Austin is very nice and he’s a good friend, so Sierra feels she could be happy with him, even though she’s certain she will never love him. But she can’t get Mickey out of her mind, although things ended badly between them the last time they spoke. Eventually, she realizes she’s in love with Mickey and must come clean to her parents, and risk losing them. Unfortunately, she has hurt him too many times and now he’s gone again. She leaves a message confessing everything and doesn’t hear back from him. She resolves that when he demands visitation/shared custody of Mia, she will do whatever is needed to make things up to him.
There were times while reading this book that I wanted to hit Sierra in the head to knock some sense into her. However, the internal conflicts she experiences were absolutely necessary to the tension in the plot. Truly, all of the tension is inside of Sierra’s head. She struggles to understand herself. She questions her motivations, her desires, her willingness to be brave and to act independently, and she keeps coming up short. The only surprise is the amount of time it takes her to acknowledge what she really wants and to stand up for herself. This is her journey.
The POV never switches to any other character, even though it’s told in third-person. There were times when I wondered what Mickey was thinking or feeling, but he was actually fairly transparent. He wanted Sierra in his life, and although he struggled with how to react to her behavior, he still admitted he loved her, and each time she ran away, he waited for her to return. Until he didn’t anymore. And that’s when she realized how much she had hurt him, how much she actually cared for him, and that this was her life and she should choose what would make her happy, rather than striving to earn her parents’ approval. At that point, it doesn’t actually matter whether Mickey forgives her or allows her back in his life. Of course, we want her to spend the rest of her life with him because we want them both to be happy. But she has grown immensely because of her struggles and has become a better person, and that’s what’s really important. I really enjoyed Sierra’s journey and I recommend this book.
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review. The tangled webs we weave and oh boy did Sierra weave a web. She had a one-night stand with her friend and then left in the middle of the night. She held on to a secret for 3 years but when she came face to face with Mickey at a wedding things began to change. Sierra only wanted to be accepted by her mother but always fell short. She made up her mind she was going to get her degree and leave town. Mickey is the sweetest Rock Star I have ever read. He was determined to change his life course and not end up like his parents. Mickey had a plan and he stuck with it didn’t matter what anyone thought. He was so great with Mia and the way he treated Sierra, swoon. I loved when we got to see Mia and Mickey interact, they were so cute together. I also like seeing Sierra interact with the band members and their women. Absolutely loved the entire scene of Sierra and Lance, her brother, at the truck stop. To see they had a lot in common and to have Sierra hear what Lance was saying to her was a turning point. Sierra has 2 choices to follow her heart and do what will make her happy or follow what her parents want and be complacent the rest of her life. Although I was rooting for Mickey and Sierra to get together, I did like seeing Sierra and Austin together. Who does she choose Mickey or Austin? Does she listen to her heart or go with what her Mom wants? Both are great guys but Sierra will have to make a decision.
This book was boring. I skimmed through it because I had already invested time into reading the first chapters hoping it would get better. The h was not likable at all 😒She was foul mouthed, wishy washy, created drama where there was none. She was supposed to be leaving town when able but decided to think about marrying someone her mother ( whom she hated) for security when her daughter’s father was there. She had no reason not to tell the H about his daughter. She did not treat the H fairly and she came off as a liar and user with her parents ( because she needed a babysitter), the father of her child(because she wanted sex), and the ex- boyfriend( because she wanted an escape)! Then the proposal was super quick and not at all believable. Also these writers all copy each other with this crap …btw JESUS CHRIST IS LORD not a curse word!!!!!
I have a thing for bass players so reading this book was great. While I enjoyed the story I found Sierra annoying to say the least even though I got where she was coming from. Then again who could blame her with parents pressing her at every turn to behave as they wanted. Then there was Mickey…always having Sierra duck out on him was frustrating so he was the bigger man and got his hea. I just knew that he knew Mia was his daughter!
Wow, just wow! I truly have enjoyed the other books in this series, but Sierra and Mickey’s story was truly the best. The pressure that Sierra endured from her family was life-changing. To live up to that scrutiny impossible. Mickey, being from the other side of the tracks just wouldn’t measure up. There were times when I cringed, and times when I cried. I felt all the emotions. This was one amazing story. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
How and why will Sierra not tell Mickey about his daughter? Even after meeting him again when the kid is three years old? She was hanging out and having sex with him even. She was also going out (or dating) her old high school boyfriend at the same time. Her excuse? Family pressure. Yeah sure *sarcasm*. It also seems to me as if the ending was rushed.
Four years ago, Sierra and Mickey had a hot encounter neither could forget. But Sierra’s family would never approve of a match with the guy from the wrong side of the tracks. This was an entertaining book. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
This was a heartbreaking story to read. The romantic part of the story was a long time coming. The storyline seemed to stretch a tad too long, well into the last quarter of the road. It may just have been my head-space when reading this novel.
I wasn't really into Sierra. I felt she was terrible as a person. She was messing with a good guys heart. The end was ok but all these books drop off and you never see where they are going.
