Cooper- There was a time in my life when I allowed myself too much. Too much booze, too much partying, just… too much. Four years ago I pulled myself away from it all, and have been living a life with very little indulgence since. But something about this gorgeous, sweet firefighter makes me want to give in to everything he has to offer. With the threat of a dangerous arsonist out there, it’s my job to stop them. When I discover he may be connected to it all, will we be able to survive? Or will our newly ignited relationship go up in flames? Tatum- I’m a man who needs control. The few times that I’ve allowed myself to let go, everything in my life began to spiral. The sexy and mysterious detective I’ve been lusting over for months makes me want to surrender all of that control to him. I know that by giving into our undeniable desires, it'll end with me alone and heartbroken. But it feels as if he's left me with no choice. So until the flames of our passion die down, I’m going to enjoy the burn.

My name is Jenni and I love to write! For as long as I can remember, I have loved creating my own little world and telling stories. I always find myself growing attached to these fictional characters to the point that they feel like my family.
I’ve been married to my amazing husband for over eight years and we have two gorgeous daughters and one incredibly handsome, rambunctious little boy. I grew up with five brothers and a sister, so quiet has never been anything I’m used to. Though, I really wouldn’t have it any other way.
At the end of a long day, there’s nothing I prefer more than spending time with my family, then ending the evening with a good glass of wine and an even better book.

*** I reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.***

Burn it Down is an entertaining romance between a detective and firefighter as they navigate a one night stand that eventually turns into something more. One of my favorite aspects of this story is the overall low-angst vibe of this story. Yes their is miscommunication and drama, but it doesn't extend longer than necessary.

Burn it Down is very insta-lusty between Tatum and Cooper who have been enamored with one another from afar, but once their shared interest in one another is known they agree to a simple friends with benefits situation, which of course does not go according to plan.

One of my favorite aspects of the story is the intense possessive nature of the detective, Cooper. He is smitten with Tatum and reveals his dominance in many scenes. Tatum is more than willing to succumb to Cooper's dominance, which leads to many encounters of confusion as feelings become more muddled. Their dynamic is so much fun to see develop and grow from only physical to something more emotional and substantial.

Overall Burn it Down is a great steamy romance mixed with a great overarching mystery as uncovering a serial arsonist. Cooper and Tatum have wonderful chemistry and their journey to an HEA is not too dramatic, but has just enough bumps along the way to make for a compelling read.

Hmm, I threw myself right into the fire with this book. And I'm not sorry, because there's nothing sexier than sparks flying between sexy firefighters and detectives.

This was my first encounter with the work of 𝐉.𝐉. 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 and I must admit I was very pleasantly surprised. The book was read extremely quickly, easily and left many pleasant emotions in me. It was a perfect after-work read.

𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐦 turned out to be one of those couples that I just can't help but love at first sight. Their troubled pasts, worries, fears, the tension between them... built them as super realistic characters. I liked that, and it made me empathize with them in their emotions and experiences.

I really liked that the relationship between them started as insta-lust. It was really cute how they both had some kind of crush on each other and things just happened in a super natural way.

I can't help but mention Cooper's dominant side as well. It was so SEXY his vibe during the sex scenes - how he totally owned Tate but made sure she was okay and comfortable at the same time. In a few words – a dream man!

And, yes – the sex scenes were really HOT and SPICY. The author is a true virtuoso in sex scenes. They were described so well that I instantly felt like a participant in them!

The story itself was enjoyable. For me personally, there were a few predictable moments and others that surprised me greatly. Such as revealing the identity of the "criminal" (I won't explain more because I don't want to give spoilers.)

The epilogue and bonus epilogue were PERFECT. An expected and very good ending to the story of 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐦.

Had the pleasure to ARC for JJ Grice for the first time, also my first time reading a MM book. Lots of spicy scenes, well written, great flow, good characters would definitely recommend for a romance reader.
“Everything Cooper does is aggressive and demanding, and I never even knew that was something I liked. But fuck, I love it.”

“I’m not looking for a relationship, Tatum.”

“But I don’t share, either.”

“Tatum is like a Greek God who should be immortalized in a statue.”

“It’s unnerving to me how no matter where we are or what we’re doing, my gaze always finds him.”

*****ARC Review*****

This is my irst M/M Romance and I have to say JJ Grice did a great job.

I love 911 Lonestar and this novel based on the show was on point! I loved it.

There is so much action between the fires and the shooting.

There’s nothing like a man in uniform! The way Tatum and Conner look at each other on calls and the way the are with each other is beautiful.

Great Story!

I loved it! This was my first book by JJ Grice and my first MM romance and I enjoyed every page! I also loved how JJ mixed an element of mystery about who was setting the fires in with all of the steamy romance. Burn it Down is one of the best books I've read this year. 🙂

This is my very first book by this author, and I wasn't disappointed it at all. I finished it with wanting more. I love it. I am a MM romance lover so whe. I saw that this was going to be one, I knew I had to read this book.

I love mystery of the story. It definitely kept me on what to know what happens next. The drama, the Banter it was amazing. The story had a perfect element of everything.

Cooper and Tatum both got hurt in the past relationship, so instead of having a relationship that have a one night stand that eventually had turn into something more. The both have had eyes on each other, but didn't want to get hurt.

If you like:
- steamy romance
- MM romance
-banter
- romantic suspense

This story is an steamy and must read story. So if you want to try a new author or new book give this a try.

Oh man, where do I even start with Tatum and Cooper. I will be honest at first I was not sure how to feel about Cooper. He took a hot minute to understand a bit better. Tatum is pretty much an all around good guy....you get the vibe from him right away. Once I knew more about Cooper I think I actually ended up liking him just a smidgen more than Tatum.

Both of these men have had their hearts broken in the past and are just trying to live their lives. Tatum has had his eyes on Cooper for a while now but due to their professions (firefighter and detective) he figures looking from a distance is best....until one night he ends up at the same place as Cooper on personal time. From that moment on everything changes.

Cooper is kind of closed off when it comes to relationships. He has a good reason for this and therefore is adamant that he and Tatum only get one night. He does not do relationships yet finds himself in quite the predicament when it comes to Tatum because it is impossible not to fall in love with him...he is so genuine. Cooper's instinct is to take care of Tatum and before he realizes it, that is exactly what he is doing.

These two...oh these two are so freaking adorable. Tatum reminds me of a big teddy bear and Cooper is the strong one there for you to lean on. They work so well together. There were times I would be angry with them for letting issues from their past halt a future for them. Then of course in classic J.J. Grice fashion there had to be events that had my heart racing and anxiety spiking....always a good thing. J.J. did such a great job with this beautiful love story between Tatum and Cooper. It is impossible to not love this book, T and C, and the many side characters you meet along the way.

“Oh yeah? You psychic now, Shawn Spencer?” (Yes!!! one of my all time favorite shows PSYCH finally referred to in a book!)

Cooper's a cop, Tatum's a fireman...Gotta love men in a uniform... saving the world and each other in more ways then one!

This book has it all, the spice, the action, plots to drive you crazy and a bit of intensity on top.... and an arsonist? This was just fun and while reading this book I thought of the two amazing guys in the show 911 Lonestar (A cop and a firefighter romance in that too) and it just warmed my heart. Also, you know how much I hate miscommunication drama, but in this sceanario I put myself in their shoes and thought "oh my goodness I don't think I could communicate that well either!" So cudos to the author for making the only miscommunication drama i'll ever agree with! But altogether this book was sweet, and enjoyable and really spicy! Thanks for letting me be on this team @katieandbreypa and the author

I went into this book with no expectations. I’d never read a book by J.J. Grice before but jumped at the chance to receive an ARC of her upcoming MM story. I can say, after reading it TWICE in 2 days, that I’m a fan!

Cooper & Tatum start off as colleagues crushing on one another from afar (Cooper's a Detective & Tatum's a Firefighter). After his car runs out of gas one day, he calls a tow truck & walks to a nearby bar to wait for a Lyft. When Coop surprises him by sitting down next to him at what turns out to be a gay bar, he realizes that his crush may go both ways. Coop offers to take Tatum home where Tatum invites him in. Coop's a recovering alcoholic not looking for a relationship & knows he should say no, but can't bring himself to. He agrees as long as it's a one-time thing.

When it becomes apparent that their chemistry is very hot & not a one-and-done thing, Coop decides that while he still doesn’t want to date, he wants to see Tatum on an exclusive F*ck Buddies basis. While this bothers Tatum, he knows that it’s for the best – especially with how his last relationship ended.

We all know what happens to the best laid plans (goodness gracious were those plans LAID😮🔥)...
Coop realizes that he feels a lot more for Tatum than just what he feels like naked & decides to claim his man. Punching his ex probably wasn’t the best way to go about it, though. Tatum breaks off their arrangement & refuses to speak to Coop, but Coop does eventually convince him that he loves him & wants to be an actual couple.

Meanwhile, someone's been setting fires for a few months & it’s realized that a firefighter's probably the arsonist. Further investigation shows it's likely to be someone from Tatum’s Station. Unbeknownst to Tatum, Coop's been investigating not only everyone he works with, but also Tatum himself. When Tatum inevitably finds Coop’s files on Tatum & his coworkers - with damning words written on his, he calls off their newly minted relationship.

While Coop & Tatum had been enjoying their new love, the fires increased in frequency & intensity. Will a devastated Coop catch the real arsonist to prove his love to Tatum or will they get rid of the heartbroken Detective first? Will Tatum get to Coop before the arsonist finishes their love story before it really starts?

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and, as always, my review is unpaid and honest.

This is my first time reading anything by J.J. Grice, and it did not disappoint. If you like 9-1-1 lone star, then I'm sure you will like this book too! This book has got one gorgeous firefighter, one a hot detective, and a case of a serial arsonist who may or may not be a firefighter too. It was an easy read, and I finished it in a day.

Not me reading this book for the sole purpose of someone mentioning 911: Lonestar.

Burn it Down was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. It was beautiful. It was hot metaphorically and literally. I mean Tatum is a firefighter so I assuming it must get pretty hot in the fire. It is emotional. With a sprinkle of mystery.

We watch the story unfold in through Cooper and Tatum. For the most part the focus is on the two building their relationship. However, we get a dab of mystery with Cooper trying to discover the arsonists. Might I say I thought the arsonist was a totally different person than who it turned out to be.

I could read about Tatum and Cooper’s life all day. They truly make an adorable couple!!!

If you are a fan of any of the 911 franchise, Station 19 or Emergency this book is worth checking out.

Please check content warnings before reading this book it deals with heavy topics!!!

I want to thank @kaiteandbreypa and J.J. Grice for allowing me to read this book.

So was there a lot of 🌶️🌶️🌶️? Yes. Did I mind that? Not at all. I did read the blurb for this before reading and knew there would be a lot of sex.

Both Cooper and Tatum were interesting characters to explore and get to know. They crushed hard on one another and neither was wiser to it. Neither were truly relationship ready after their pasts, so they made the agreement of FWB. How can that last though when they both start finding there’s far more emotional connection?

There’s also the matter that Cooper is a Detective, and fires have been spreading like crazy with no explanation. Serial arsonist and all…But Tatum is a firefighter, and in turn early on becomes a suspect based on very little evidence. Can Tatum and Cooper work together, and be together while hiding things from one another? Is it better to just be FWB? Or does love prevail?

I knew I was going to enjoy this book, I just didn't realize how much!
Maybe it's the whole men in uniform thing 😉 I did marry a firefighter after all 😆
Tatum and Cooper are 🥵 Both have secretly been crushing on each other and when Tate gets the opportunity for just one night with Cooper, he takes it. Before either knows it, one night turns into most nights.
Both have things in their past that make trusting a relationship hard. Not to mention, an arsonist is currently running rampant, keeping both of them busy.
They are so hot together.  The way Tatum is so pliant for Cooper and lets him boss him around 🥵
The spice mixed with a little mystery of who the arsonist is had me unable to put this book down.

Thank you to Katie and Brey PA and JJ Grice for providing me with an eARC of this book. This is my honest review.

I read Burn It Down in one day. I couldn’t put it down! I needed to see Tatum and Cooper’s relationship play out fully. It was a little heartbreaking to watch Tatum love so desperately early on, but I knew Cooper didn’t stand a chance. He might be an observant detective, but he didn’t spot the love train until it’d already mowed him over 😂 I’ll always eat up the “we’re only hooking up but really we’re falling desperately in love” storylines. Every. Single. Time.
-
I loved the FPD, PD, EMS environment. I think it added a layer of slight thrills and mystery to the story. I kinda wish we dove into the investigative aspect a little bit more, but that’s okay. And it made me desperately want to watch 911 and 911: Lone Star 😂
-
Overall, I think Burn It Down was a quick, interesting read with two compelling leads. I loved watching Tatum and Cooper give in to their feelings for each other. If you’re into procedural shows, then you should definitely give this book a shot!

This was my first book by this author, but I will definitely read more. The book is a fantastic blend of story and spice. It’s got fire and love with a little angst mixed in. The characters and the story are written with depth and detail that draw the reader in. I loved the push and pull between Coop and Tatum. They are different in many ways, but both need someone who accepts them. I thought the author did a great job weaving the mystery elements together as well. Overall, would recommend this book to anyone wanting a romance with a bit of heat and lots of heart.

JJ Grice is not a new author for me. I enjoy both her Maine Stay Series and Dark Security Series. Burn it Down is not part of any series currently. The story revolves around Tatum and Cooper and their navigation into a relationship. Both men are in high stress professional positions and both men are lacking in trust. As they turn a friends with benefits relationship into something more, you see both begin to let down their guard. Of course, there is some drama due to their lack of trust, but it doesn’t take over the storyline.

The story includes lots of steamy schemes, an arsonist causing havoc, and nosy friends, family and coworkers. It was very enjoyable read and I hope to see more of the characters in this book.

Burn it Down is an m/m romance and is a fav read this year.
Cooper & Tatum are hot, hot, hot!!
This was such an amazing read. I was hooked right from the start. Super hot fireman and cop ✔️Mystery and a whole lot of suspense ✔️Who done it vines✔️ And to top it off emotional & swoon worthy! Absolutely couldn’t recommend this high enough.
I loved how these two initially met outside of work and what it leads too.
It’s steamy but also has a great storyline that will have you on the edge of your seat begging for more.
I can’t wait for more from this author.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would give more if I could.

I was honestly unsure about this book going in but was immediately sucked into the characters. I loved Tatum and just wanted him to have the best of everything. I was unsure of Cooper at first but he really grew on me too with his self discovery. Their relationship journey was great and the spice was intense but also really beautiful. I loved their families and the support/love they got for them. This book was a fantastic read that I couldn’t put down!

Tropes
-mild miscommunication
-coworkers to lovers

Let me start by saying I love JJ's writing style! MM is my favorite, so I was more than excited to read BiD! Who knew I had a thing for men in uniforms?! JJ always weaves romance and suspense together so well. These two were the best kind of roller coaster ride. Fingers crossed there's more to come!

This was my first MM romance and, honestly? I loved it!
It was an entertaining, intense, slow burn between a detective and a firefighter who must work together to solve a serial arsonist case. I personally couldn’t guess the culprit, which I think made it even better. The slow burn of the relationship didn’t shadow the full story but the romance was amazing!

This book was so good, and I adored Cooper and Tatum. Cooper is a detective and Tatum is a firefighter. Both have been lusting after one another for sometime now, but that's been the extent of it. But after what was supposed to be a one-night stand, it ends up turning into something more. I loved how Cooper was so possessive over Tatum, and how he showed his dominance toward him, and the way Tatum so easily caved towards it. I loved both of these characters so much and watching them work their feelings out towards one another was great. This book was spicy, the plot was great, and it flowed beautifully. Make this your next read immediately.

Tatum and Cooper

Loved this book. It has it all.. Great story, some angst, humor, suspense and fabulous steamy sex scenes. Tatum is a firefighter and Cooper is a police detective. They enter into a sex only deal. It doesn't lat long for either of them until real feelings get involved. They have to fight past issues, insecurities and an arsonist to get to their HEA.

What’s not to love about firefighters and detectives? I absolutely loved both Tatum and Cooper. I really enjoyed this story. It had a really good balance of plot and spice, while Tatum and Cooper’s relationship was definitely the main event in this story I didn’t feel like catching the arsonist was pushed to the back.
I saw someone say this this book reminded them of 911: Lone Star and I can definitely see it, throw in some romance and it works.
Neither Tatum or Cooper are really looking for a relationship but for different reasons, stemming from issues in their past. But of course, Cooper’s plans of a one night thing doesn’t really work. These two were just so cute together.
This had not one but two breakups and I’m not a fan of miscommunication/non-communication or the third act breakup, so I wish that had been different. But that being said, I do understand why the third act breakup happened. I also wish there had been a little more info about the arsonist, I know that was part of the mystery but it would have been great to have a conversation or two in there.
Overall, this was a great read and I absolutely recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a great firefighter romance with an HEA. Tatum and Cooper were great characters.

The only thing I struggled with was the use of “baby boy”. I struggled with the pet name and the amount of use of that pet name.

I enjoyed this book by JJ Grice. There was the perfect mix of hot romance and angst between Cooper and Tatum being a policeman and a firefighter so the drama is always going to follow. A great thought out storyline and a very interesting past for both characters and you have a story that is going to reel you in. Look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Just finished this ARC and I loved the story. This was my first book in the LGBTQ genre so I was a little nervous but I fell in love with Cooper and Tatum.

This book has a little bit of everything. Spice, mystery, addiction, mental health, family drama, etc. I feel like the author hit on a lot of great topics.

Tatum is a firefighter who has his eye on the rugged detective, Cooper. When they get together, they decide to keep things casual but are only lying to themselves. As things get heated, they realize they can't deny their feeling for each other. But they each have some baggage they are trying ro reconcile. Not to mention and arsonist on the loose who not only puts a wedge in their relationship but has the potential to end it.

This was an amazing read. I loved the plot, the characters, and the writing.

Tatum and Cooper are just yummy men this was my first firefighter police detective romance. I really liked the storyline and the spice was good. I loved how JJ put a little plot twist into the story to make you guess the outcome and just show how much Tatum and Copper really loved each other. Great read ❤️
