Prince Valdemar of Schaumburg–Lippe at the San Anselmo Theological Seminary, he became a knight of the Sovereign Order of the Hospitaliers of St. John of Jerusalem (founded in 1077) in recognition of his contributions to humanity.

Our alignment has a very powerful effect on how we experience the world, what we interpret as truth or valuable. All our value judgments are coming out of our alignment. As our consciousness level advances, our degree of of happiness increases. The higher the level of consciousness, the higher the rate of happiness. The higher the rate of happiness, the less we need from the world or want from the world and finally we reach a state of relative independence of the world. Virtue is its own reward. There is no higher objective or purpose in living than to realize the highest levels of truth and enlightenment.

I liked it
Although I once had a copy of Power versus Force, it was not an easy read. This smaller book is friendly in tone and offers encouragement to those interested in the subject.

Efficacy
All of Dr Hawkins books and materials are of tremendous spiritual benefit. He leads us into knowing the meaning of Absolute Goodness from within via the pathway of non-duality.

Dr Hawkins stills teaches Truth
A quick and concise summary of Consciousness, and the Higher Self and the mass mind diversity that can interfere with a persons quest to become Free of egoic roadblocks.

Understanding your own spirituality.
I love this book. It sums up all the thoughts, actions , questions and yes, actions that one might have and take to raise their spiritual level. One should take a look at the Map of Consciousness while reading it.

Thought provoking
Gives pause for deeper t
houghts. I would be interested in taking the test out of curiosity to see where I would rank, but then, do I really want to know?

As with most of David R. Hawkins books I found a deep resonance. Doctor shares his wisdom in the form of short insights of how to apply everday experience of life into spiritual practice.

good, didn't personally offer me any new concepts

Really basic book, he just drones on about enlightenment and clearly feels proud of where he js at in his process. Better to ready other books, like levels of energy or anything by Joseph Campbell.

A step to step guide on how not to be a horrible bastard

Hawkins aims to stratify the individual's spiritual being within the world - whatever that means. This largely sits in the perspective that spirituality has to be met at its own level, not via a scientific or social lens, which is fair enough.
A quote from the book:
"The narcissistic mind is ruled by its own viewpoint, while the spiritual one seeks truth for its own sake."
I love this sort of sentiment, maybe because it often aligns with my own beliefs (ironic to my own narcissism).
However, I still find these sort of "we're all part of the same gumbo soup" texts overly weak when put into practice in almost any ambiguous situation. There's a tendency to encourage individuals to take everything on face value, where's the reality is when SHTF, that is simply not an option. These failures develop the judgements of our wind vane friends from soft observations into rigid personal judgements - going from weak to wrong.
I'm not saying that we should all follow a hard set of rules, or that I even have the answer for this argument on hand, but the practical value of these beliefs does not always serve so well once you've made it past "can't we all just get along".

I found a lot of what the author said to be helpful although his constant referencing to the calibration level or number to experiences such as listening to music and even the Constitution of the US left me baffled. I am guessing there is a whole realm of precise measurements expressed as calibrations I am not aware of.
