Glossed and Found is the third book in the Bath and Body Mystery series by India Ink. I am one that just simply has to read books in the order they are meant to go in, but as I read this book, parts of the story seemed familiar, like I had read them before, but yet other parts of the story I knew I hadn't read before, and I know I didn't read the second book before a couple of days ago. I am thinking I might have picked this book up at one time, not realizing it was book three, and then maybe read parts of it, but even if I did, it was a book worth reading again!

Auntie and Persia run Venus Envy in small town, Gull Harbor, WA. It is an upscale bath and body shop that recently added a hairdresser and a makeup artist. Persia has been gifted with a sensitive smell that allows her to pick up on subtle undertones in a fragrance, and so she creates custom blends for her clients, along with all the fragrance blends for Venus Envy's line of bath and body products.

The day of the Thanksgiving Gala in Gull Harbor, Lisa Tremont, the makeup artist at Venus Envy, ducks out early leaving a note that she had to meet someone about the suspicions that she had regarding her late fathers estate. Persia is mad at Lisa for ducking out, but she also knows Lisa wouldn't do it if it wasn't important. Lisa had a date for the Gala, but she never makes it to the Gala, and never calls her boyfriend to cancel. Her sister Amy is worried sick, but there isn't much her boyfriend, the chief of police can do, since Lisa is an adult.

When no one has heard from Lisa in a couple of days, Amy files an official missing person report, but that isn't good enough for Persia and Amy. With the police budget already stretched to the limits and more cuts in the future, Kyle, the police chief can only do so much, especially since there isn't a ransom note and no clues as to what happened to Lisa. Persia is always checking things out on her own, usually to the chagrin or Kyle, but this time she asks his permission to talk to Lisa's clients, as the owner of the shop where she works, and report back to Kyle. This time kyle is glad to have thee help, because he just doesn't have the resources available to do alot on this case.

Another well-written and enjoyable book. I felt pulled in and routing for Persia to find Lisa, and for Kyle to get more money from the council, although that issue is still left hanging at the end of the book, some of the things mentioned in the book about what to do about the council were brought up and I look forward to the next book to see which ones come through and what help it does give the town. I find myself enjoying the town of Gull Harbor and wishing it was a true place that I could visit, but for now I will just have to keep reading about it in this series.

The 3rd in a three book series that's very readable. By this 3rd book, however, I was fairly tired of Miss Perfect Persia and her continual workouts and tank tops and the long scenic descriptions. If there was a 4th book, I don't think I'd have read it.

This is a cozy, mystery with almost no magic or paranormal influence, some violence, and some moderate sex activity. There is a lot of discussion of fashion and style of clothing, make-up advice or opinions given by Persia to everyone whether they need it or not, and mouth-watering food descriptions that make you hungry. Persia and her friends are closely bonded and look out for each other so there is a lot of friendship and loyalty among them. The tension over their missing friend is pretty high as they follow leads and clues to find out what happened to her. It’s a surprising and unexpected twist as the mystery is successfully solved.

As Good As It Gets

•••NOT for the homophobic, transphobic, closedminded or faint of heart!•••

Persia is in a real adult committed relationship with Killian. She loves with her Auntie and they run Venus Envy together. Life is pretty good until one of the shop girls, Lisa, goes missing the night of the Gala. What was so important that she left work early? Why didn't she show up to the Ball? Where is she?

An exciting mystery of a lost person, with a subplot of a crazy stalker. It lost a star because I get sick of women being stupid about their own safety, as the protagonist of this one did, and also because of the sheer selfishness of Americans who think all the energy in the world will always be there for them. Reading about someone dressing in a tank top in the middle of winter in snowy, freezing north America makes me want to spit chips.

plenty of changes in store, as Persia tries to learn to trust her heart and it's choices

someone close could be a heartbreaking mess, and at the heart of more than one great loss

fear and family come in many shapes and sizes, as losses and loves are pulled closer

intense drama, suspense and action

Great read - even without the paranormal

Enjoyed the characters in these books. I found the story line to be believable. Okay so it’s not her usual paranormal stuff - still worth the read.

Trouble comes in threes

I'll has a Pilate ball pop under her, she's attacked by her ex-boyfriend, and a friend is kidnapped. This all happens between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Persia Vanderbilt blends custom scents for her Auntie’s bath and beauty shop and day spa, Venus Envy in the town of Gull Harbor, Port Samamish Island, Washington. She writes a beauty column for a local magazine, does a segment on a local cable access show where she answers viewer’s questions on beauty, fragrance, and fitness, and is in line to get her own local morning exercise and beauty show. All this while solving murders with the help of her staff, her beloved Auntie Florence, her hot boyfriend who’s also in the beauty business, and a local cop friend, and fending off her stalker ex-boyfriend.

“Glossed and Found,” Book No. 3 in the “Bath and Body Mystery” series by India Ink (aka Yasmine Galenorn) opens with Persia cracking her coccyx on the hardwood floor of her bedroom while exercising, and the week goes downhill from there. A friend/employee disappears after telling Persia about an exciting development involving missing inheritance money that she couldn’t discuss right then, but would later. Persia’s ex-boyfriend vandalizes the store and her BMW and she gets to beat the crap out of him. They both get arrested, much to her dismay. Persia has to fit investigating of her friend’s disappearance and resolving her own drama in around her day job and getting ready for the holidays.

This was my first brush with this series. I will say that I generally prefer reading series in order, because it increases my enjoyment. I like knowing “who’s on third” and the backstory. This book was still enjoyable, even without knowing the backstory. The references to previous events only intrigued me, rather than irritated me.

I have read reviews where people complained about the "sex" scenes. I didn't mind them - I found them to be quite chaste, but natural to the relationship between Persia and her boyfriend. If you asked me about them now, I don't think I could summon up any details. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, the descriptions, the romance, the overall story.

To me, the characters are complex and well-drawn. The author skillfully weaves in details about Persia and the other main characters as a natural part of the story, rather than bludgeoning the reader over the head with information. The place descriptions are vivid. I like to be carried along by the story and the interactions between the characters; I like to find out whodunit when the protagonist finds out. This book met that need for me. The tips about spa experiences and blending oils are interesting as well.

Would I re-read this? Probably not. Will I go buy the rest of the series to find out what happened prior to this book and what happens after? Absolutely.

This is the 3rd book in the series. If i had read the other 2 never would have made it to this one.I hear this was the last book in the series not sure why but glad i didn't get attached to characters.
The author had a strange style and the book had somewhat jerky style and tone. The main character was cited in another review as cardboard. i have to concur with that.
The main focus of the book was supposed to be the disappearance of Lisa, a co-worker and friend. At times the plot was overshadowed by Persia(main character) being stalked by her ex Eliot.
It maybe because it was the last book of the series the author tried to wind up all the character stories.
i was disappointed in this mystery. I guess i need to choose books with a criteria other than fitting into a Cozy Challenge.

This is the 3rd Persia Vanderbuilt book, and im sad to see the series come to a close. In this installment, one of Persias empoyees goes missing. Persia finally comes to a truce with Kyle and helps him snoop out the clues as to Lisa's whereabouts. In the meantime, Persias ex, Elliot, is drunk on the loose and vrey triggerhappy. What a hectic little holiday its been for Persia and the gang!

This is a great little cozy series and i truely wished the author would contine on with the series. I really developed a fondness for the characters and the plot was well written. I often found myself picking up the book every so often just to find out what happens to Lisa. It keeps you guessing the whole book through.

I enjoyed the first two books in this series and was looking forward to the 3rd installment. It was okay, but certainly not great. I loved the descriptions of the various landscapes and holiday festivities. Most of the characters are likable, but I have a hard time feeling anything for Persia. She's seemed a bit like cardboard in all of the books, but in this one she was a downright annoying know-it-all. I did enjoy Aunt Florence and the rest of the usual suspects. Another thing that bothered me is that it seemed like the author tried to cram 6 or so books into one. I'm a fan of multiple storylines, but there were so many in this book and they didn't seem cohesive.

Venus Envy is a beauty parlour, Persia Vanderbilt is one of the resident experts. The store hires a new makeup artist, Lisa, who disappears on the night of the Thanksgiving Gala. Her car is found near a pier and the police conclude that she drowned. Lisa had been looking into some missing inheritance money. Persia decides to help investigate while also avoiding her troublesome ex.

As a cosy mystery it works, I enjoyed the read.

I really liked the last book in this series. I wish there was more written, but I understand wanting to continue on other works.
Oddly enough, I noticed some writing mistakes. It wasn't bad, it didn't interrupt the story, and I completely understand typos every now and again, but I had found at least four mistakes in the second book, and another in this last one.
All in all, the books were great and I enjoyed reading them!

This book was about a missing person case and also a domestic violence case. Not my usual fare in cozy reading. The characters are well drawn but the case just didn't pull me in. I wish they used their make-up, bath items more in the book itself.

Pretty steamy love scenes though. More of a romance adventure book.

This was a good, final instalment in the bath and body mystery series. The mystery was good, although not a murder mystery, and it was fairly obvious to me who the culprit was. But I enjoyed the character development and I'm grateful to the author for not leaving any loose ends, as there were no more books written in this series.

So far I've enjoyed this book more than the first two of the series I read. Maybe it's because the underlying theme is different kinds of love between individuals, plus you learn a little bit more about perhipheral characters.

I think this was a good finisher to the trilogy of books. It wove three storylines together with new information and facts established in previous books. I liked Persia's character growth a lot in this one as well.

This one may be my favorite one yet. There was something I really liked about it even though it didn't seem like there was a lot going on with the mystery but the characters seemed to develope a lot.
