Uplifting! I almost wish I had saved this for a time when I was discouraged or battling something, but once I started, it was too good to set aside and save for later. It was one story after another of powerful heavenly intervention. It reinforced my belief in Prayer, Intercession for others, Angels, my own Guardian Angel, God's Love for us and so much more! Have any of these things happened to me personally? Maybe not quite so dramatically, but there have been so many little things, prayers answered and essential helps in my life that I cannot NOT believe that I have been on the receiving end of so much loving Angelic care. Thank you!

It’s an old book! But was left by a grandparent, so I wanted to read it. A bunch of short stories about encounters with angels. Uplifting and just an overall positive book with a little mystery in each story. Some wild stories in there.

This was good nighttime reading in its simplicity, but although there were interesting parts it mostly felt like one long Reader's Digest article, veering into sentimentality more times than not: "The man helped me but I turned around and he was gone!"

I'd like to think that some of these actually were angelic visitations, but I wouldn't put good money on 90% of it.

Probably my least favorite of the angelic appearances genre.

This was a winner. A friend honored me with this, because she knew I like religious books. It was a series of stories from all over the world, that really brightened up your day, especially when you were grumpy or sad. These angels appeared in every walk of life, sometimes being seen, appearing as angels or ordinary people, somtimes only being seen by the ones unaffected. They did wonderful, beautiful, helpful, extraordinary deeds that helped the needy and destitute. At times they changed the person's life for the better. Who does not want to read a book of comfort and inspiration during the season of Christmas?

I received this book as a birthday gift. It's ok - a little saccharine in the retellings and very Christian, which grated. But I liked the stories.

We don’t hear much about angels nowadays. When we do, they have often been secularized or commercialized. Instead of ministering angels who reveal God’s love and mercy, we hear about “angel investors” or we gobble up foil-wrapped chocolate angels at Christmas. But Joan Wester Anderson trusts that angels still walk among us.

On mountain slopes, on desolate rural highways, in airplane cockpits—these are just a few of the many places where ordinary people have felt the very real presence and power of God’s angels at work in their lives. In this twenty-fifth anniversary edition of her New York Times best-selling book Where Angels Walk, Joan Wester Anderson (the “Angel Lady”) offers dozens of reasons—stories, actually—for us to reconsider our rather limited view of angels. In addition to the original collection of angelic encounters, several new stories have been included.

Anderson, who holds traditional Christian beliefs about angels, was careful to select only those stories that had a ring of truth to them. But are they true? Do heavenly visitors really walk among us? Open this book—along with your heart—before you decide.

God sends his love on angel wings. Every story in this book is a faith-reaffirmation of our Heavenly Father’s love, protection and guidance for each of his children here on earth. Where Angels Walk by Joan Wester Anderson brings comfort, joy, peace and hope that God is constantly watching over us, and sends his angels to minister to us at life’s most painful, difficult or dangerous moments.
Each testimony is beautifully narrated, but what stands out more powerfully is God’s hand in each and every situation. Some stories had my eyes welling up in tears as I resonated with their angel encounters, others uplifted my spirit, and all convicted me that God is passionately in love with us.
This is the book that many hurting, lost souls need, to find their way back into the arms of our loving Father.

This was a Reread for me and just like the first time I loved this book. In a world that can (if you let it) drain us of hope, distract us from our real purpose, or fill us with fear; this simple read is a light in the dark, an uplifting reminder that we are not ever alone and to keep looking up. I love this book and always recommend it to others.

Uplifting, encouraging, and inspiring reminders that angels walk among us. I loved the stories! Some of them reminded me of personal experiences where a hand from heaven kept me safe or comforted me in great grief. Very thankful to those who shared their interactions with the author so they could be read by people everywhere. Wonderful book!

Interesting to read people’s encounters, but the author’s introduction to each story got kind of repetitive and the stories are very short. Good for a quick read here and there because it’s easy to put down.

With about four dozen stories of angels, Joan Wester Anderson makes the case that these heavenly visitors really do exist.

Each story is brief, only about two to five pages, but convincing. The circumstances revealed by each person have no truly logical explanation in earthly terms. With so many accounts of unexplained visitations, many of them in “human” form that quickly vanish, it seems God is at work through his heavenly servants. It also seems that God uses the “form” that will be most readily accepted by the person being visited. For example, in one case, a large dark angel a story or more tall, stood guard over a young mother and her infant at night while her husband worked out of town. When the young mother saw the angel outside her huge picture window, she was able to conquer the fear that someone in the town might try to cause her harm.

Each story is gripping and believable, gently drawing the reader into a deeper faith in God and his protective powers.

Got this book from BookSale for such a low price so I was thrilled to have found it. It's nice to read accounts of people's supernatural experiences. It gives assurance that God is listening to our requests and is very much willing to answer them. It's amazing that there are a lot of stories out there about God's simple and grand interventions in times of need.

Having said that, I was just a little apprehensive towards the notion of praying to guardian angels. I personally would address my prayers directly to God although I think it's completely fine to talk to angels too as they are not just protectors but messengers of God as shown in the book of Daniel.

I believe in angels because I believe what the bible says about them. The many varied instances of angelic presence described in this book are awesome and corroborate the truths found in the scriptures. The book is fast paced and well documented with Notes, a tw0-page section: Bibliography and Additional Reading, Some Angel Resources. and an Author's Afterword.

A few years ago a religious friend of mine asked me what is my guardian angel’s name? I was taken aback. I believed in angels that were in the Bible and others that spent time honoring and praising God as He deserves. I really thought that ‘guardian angels’ were a device to let a children know that they are always safe and protected. I now know that I was wrong. I’ve often searched for a book that would expand my knowledge of angels. I plan to pass this book on to my friend. However, I will continue to look for scholarly books about angels.

This book was bothersome to me because it appeared that not only does one have to be Christian, but one has to apparently pray for angels to come to help them out. I didn’t find the stories very convincing, and I’m quite skeptical about the whole thing. Which probably means that angels will never do anything to help me, since I don’t fit nicely into the scheme of belief presented in this book. But I ask: if there is such a thing as a guardian angel, shouldn’t it be there for a person no matter what they believe? 1.5 stars, barely rounded up to 2.

Great Book

Very much enjoyed this book. In a world that is so tumultuous it is nice to read such beautiful & inspirational accounts of people being touched by God & angels. As a young woman I know without a doubt I was helped during a boating accident. I hold it close to my heart & know I am never alone. Loved reading other people’s accounts.

Book had me reviewing my life as I tried to decide if I’d ever been rescued by an angel. I don’t think so, but I thought of 2 times where people came along unexpectedly just when I desperately needed help. So, maybe? A great read.

This book is a collection of short testimonies of encounters with angels. It reaffirmed by belief that angels are definitely present among us and God’s means of protecting us in some scary situations.

Not too bad. This is a book with short stories about angelic appearances. It’s interesting and makes you think but I disagree with praying to angels or finding more comfort in them than in God Himself.

How could I not love this book… my Mom is the author! For all of you reading this, thank you. My Mom went home to the Lord on March 1, 2023 and I know she’s proud of the messages she spread and the lives her many stories touched. God Bless.

I feel like I would really enjoy this book if I was less intelligent. I guess the stories were heartwarming but very repetitive, and if you know anything about how the universe works it’s a lot of mumbo jumbo.
