I’m sure glad not to have been in the Roman Legions at the time of these books. I mean, I know modern day commanders can be found severely wanting, but these Roman Emperor dudes take the cake!
The legions fighting each other on the basis of feeble gentle folk who simply want to be the ‘Purple one’ is tragically outrageous.
I have really enjoyed this series! Great story lines, characters and action, lots of action. The attention to even the smallest of details is greatly appreciated. I have been reading each book so fast and I need to slow down - don't want this series to end! Thanks for your obvious hard work!
A rich mix of historical detail; a rich mix of characterisation; and a rich mix of fierce action makes this a reading dish to be savoured. The author certainly knows his way around the Romans and their tribal adversaries. Worth a second read!
Again, I couldn't put it down. The descriptive writing just transported me to a different place a different time. I feel like I am present on a horse riding along with them, my emotions going up and down, just amazing writing. Thanks.
