Small towns have a welcoming, comforting feel to them. At least that's what it looks like in the movies. When Lexi Mason experienced a devastating heartbreak, she needed a change. Tuckerville, a small town, was offering a Remote Work Program and she applied. She thought the small town would be the change she needed away from her life in the city, away from her ex. Ivan Mathis was a successful fitness trainer, in Turner City. But when his mom called pleading with him to return to Tuckerville, to help revitalize it, he was on board to help save the small town. Neither of them expected that the welcoming, small town would give them their biggest challenges, or their sweetest rewards.

Oh, I was sucked completely into the little town of Tuckerville, Lexi finding herself, and Ivan being reminded what home is. Although there were times I wanted to yell at Ivan and Lexi to get their heads out of their asses in the end they did the work, I loved it. I can't wait to see what else happens in this small town.
CW: Small Town Drama, Catty Town's Folk, Secret Conspiracy
This was the 1st book of the series. It was just okay to me. I heard such great reviews but I didn’t keep my attention. I want to read the others only because it’s series. But if I don’t continue I’m okay with that too.
Ms. Nichole, I am liking this small town series and where it is headed. It most definitely has all the qualifications of a true small town. You have the "good honest townsfolk" and the messy ones. Of course, the messy ones are the LOUDEST. They are the ones that put the small towns on the map. Tuckerville is starred in the atlas for the next visit because of them. Ivan and Lexi chanced meeting was the perfect setup. It's ironic how they both ended in Tuckerville. Ivan came after his mother coerced him and Lexi needed a new fresh start. Lexi's ex left a lasting imprint on her heart. Ivan and Lexi were "chilling." The old saying states, "love finds you when you least expect it." It holds true for these two. They complemented each other well. Tuckerville was the place to be Ivan was able to expand his business while Lexi "found" herself. It was a win-win for both parties. It wasn't a walk in the park they had a major wall named Jessica. They managed together as a team to jump that hurdle though. I am looking forward to seeing if Jessica is in the rest of the series. I hope her shenanigans are over.
This is the making of a great series. I am anticipating the next installment. I am hoping🤞🏽we get an update on Lexi and Ivan, maybe a 💍or 👶🏾. The one friend that Lexi made beside Ivan was Shay. Shay was an African-American woman business owner with a whole lot of sassy and a hint of feisty. I would love to read about her falling in love. If you like to read about small towns this is for you. Or if you just love love then it is for you as well. In other words, it is a melting pot of both that you will enjoy. Download your copy and get into it.
This is was a sweet contemporary romance. A woman trying to find her self and a man finding his way back home find love within the each other. The relationship was a bit easy. The star of the story is of course the town. I was interested in the town “folk” and it’s happenings more so than the romance. I didn’t feel any chemistry between Lexi and Ivan. However , there was a few moments of conflict that could have been used to inject a little excitement into the story, but they were glossed over with no resolution.
All in all, this was a sweet and easy read. I am going to continue the series to see what’s up next for the town.
This read was just blah! I stumbled through it because I don’t believe in starting and not finishing. As someone who’s in publishing, I feel the book was underdeveloped. A no no is, writing about sex and not developing the scene. If your trying to build suspense, talk about touching, or feelings, but not going all the way. When you get to that moment when they do go there, the reader will be more in tuned and reluctant to pull away from the book and the extra hot steamy moment. If your not comfortable writing about those scenes leave them out completely and insinuate to the reader that it happened by saying it happened.
Also, there was No chemistry between the characters until the end. These two people were disjointed until the end of the book. There was no passion of any kind. Just less than stellar sex. There was no sensual touching, passionate kissing, deep conversations. All surface. I usually go through an author’s catalog, but I’m not going to do that with you. Don’t want to give myself another headache or leave a less than stellar review.
I applaud you on your Indie writing journey! However, I need you to do more research as you would do for anything else. That means read for knowledge. Gather those number 1’s and read. Not to copy their style, but to gather ideas of how to develop a love story with or without steamy sex or a happy ending.
I gave you 2 stars, because your editing was on point and I didn’t have to restructure sentences and leave notes as I read on grammar and punctuation. Your book can’t just be words on a page and paid/family reviews. People will find your work and read it for themselves.
While a bit slow at times, I liked Lexi and Ivan. I like small town vibes, and even with all it's messy people, I like Tuckerville.
I don't like that Lexi left her hometown due to a breakup, yet I'm glad she eventually found something she could say she was doing for her. Now that Ivan is in the picture, I see him as an added bonus. Tuckerville is a quaint town and I see Lexi being right at home there.
I liked Ivan. He was calm and cool. Got to love a man who works out and wants to help others maintain healthy lives too. I'm glad he kept being persistent with Lexi. They make a great couple.
I'm hoping we get more of these two in Shays story. Although it seemed that Shay would be a messy friend, I like that she was loyal to Lexi. I was upset that she let Jessica, after knowing how vindictive she could be, get in her head. Glad Lexi finally decided to ask Shay what was going on and they got to the root of the issue.
This was a good start to this series. I like the cool and calm vibes from J. Nicholes' books.
Tuckerville's small-town drama leads to lifelong love. Small towns can be frustrating, especially when everyone is in everybody's busy and nothing is sacred. Lexi needs a change, and she never expected to find love when she went to Tuckerville. Fine and sexy Ivan wasn't looking for a relationship either; however, their chance meeting changed that. Lexi was very patient with those haters who thought she didn't belong, but I'm glad she rose above their stupidity and still gave her all. Ivan, shouldn't have had to deal with how he was treated either, especially since he was from Tuckerville and had family there. Jessica was so messy they needed to kick her out of town. But this worked out as it should. Mayor Sharon kept her position, and Lexi and Ivan found their love was worth taking the risk to be happy and doing it in a town where love and happiness would fill their hearts. Can't wait to read Shay's story, even though I was angry that she believed what Jessica told her about Lexi. All's well that ends well.
Title: Somebody Somewhere Author: J. Nichole Publisher: Not the Last Page Series: Greeting from Tuckerville Book 1 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Four Review: "Somebody Somewhere" by Author: J. Nichole
My Sentiments:
'Somebody Somewhere' was a cute story of what this small of Tuckerville offered Lexi and Ivan. We find Lexi had come to Tuckerville after her heart had been broken, and Ivan was trying to open up a fitness business to help his hometown where he was raised. How will this work out for these two, especially after they meet? This town was attractive in how everyone seemed to know everyone. Was this a good thing? What will happen when Lexi and Ivan seem to have something going on? Some exciting characters helped keep the story going...Sharon [the Mayor], Shay, Maria, and let's not leave out Jessica. Overall, this story was good and will keep one turning the pages till the end.
I read this in one night. For whatever reason, I didn't want to stop until I was done. I hate to admit, though, that I tended to skip or skim the love scenes and my attention Leo wavering towards the end. While the story was kinda entertaining, I didn't really feel it between Lexi and Ivan, the whole thing with Jessica seemed kinda forced, and at times I wasn't ended sure what was going on between the two main characters because it seemed like they were broken up when they weren't at times. And Ivan kinda did an about-face on their relationship that felt jarring. And the thing with Shay...Lexi apologized even though it was Shay who has jumped to conclusions. People were just really bold about being wrong and/or invasive in that town, and usually with no consequence.
I might read more in the series; I'm not sure yet.
This was a pleasantly slow and easy read easy in the sense that the issues the two main characters dealt with were somewhat challenging yet the issues didn’t have me stressed the heck out like some books I’ve read. 😂
Lexi trying to forge a new beginning in a small town, discovered that everyone wasn’t as welcoming as she thought the would be. And then there was Ivan , ho had only agreed to come home for six month just to try and help boost the economy. The last thing he expected was to fall in love with the new girl in town. I won’t say much more because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone else. It’s a love story with some major Petty foolishness and small town gossiping that will have you shaking your head and even chuckling at time. ❤️
What a great book. The story is about a small town that offered a program to work in the small town of Tuckerville. Lexi was a also running from a broken heart. Ivan was from the town but wanted to explan his fitness business, why not his home town. So girl meets boy and had a great time. As small towns can be there is always stuff. The mayor was Sharon, and the wanta be mayor is Jessica. She is a trouble maker. Did not like Ivan and definitely not when she realized that Ivan wanted to get her body in shape but not her heart. Women can sometimes be very messy, so you can imagine what this book will reveal. Read and enjoy.
I really enjoyed this book about a small town romance and I can’t wait to see what other stories come out of Tuckerville. I loved how Lexi and Ivan’s relationship evolved. Lexi and Ivan weren’t looking for love or anything close to it when they moved to Tuckerville, but we all know what happens when we least expect something and aren’t looking. Their relationship was cute. It was the definition of making time for what is important to you and working to make it work.
What a why to celebrate book 30 J.Nichole! This book was a great slow romance and captured perfectly what it is like to live in a small town. Lexi and Ivan found each other unexpectedly and felt the growing pains of a relationship being the talk of the town. Loved how you shared their story and can’t wait for the next installment.
I have a habit of just downloading books and hoping for the best... I'll be the first to admit that it doesn't always work out well for me. This one was not one of those times. I'm sure there are 30 million synopsis already here so I'm going to advise that you read this one as I skip over to the next one.
Oh, my I just love well-written stories with a wonderful storyline and small-town setting. So, glad Lexi and Ivan didn't let people and their meddling ways deter their relationship. This is going to be a great series so looking forward to the second book in the series.
This story show that sometime we do thing for other and not for ourself. I was raised in that small town setting where everyone knew your business and is not up to date with the times. I glad in this story that she was able to find her passion and find PASSION despite her past
I was surprised b the Tuckerville chronicles and enjoyed the way we always think we have a plan for our future until fate steps in🤣🤣. These characters were witty and I was intrigued by their development.
I would have like to see the real motive uncovered behind Jessica’s antics explored more. But overall I like the introduction to Tuckerville🥰
This small town had warmth but definitely some drama! I enjoyed the natural way Lexi & Ivan came about. At times, they both lacked communication but I liked how they didn’t let it drag on too long. I’m happy they took a chance on each other, despite timing not always being right.
I’m such a sucker for small time romance and small town drama!!! J. Nicole didn’t disappoint either!! Lexi at Ivan’s love story were exactly what I’d expect if I picked up moved to a small town and fell in love! Great story!
This was a slow moving wholesome story! I felt like it was an ok read, not a whole lot going on but just ok. I was glad Ivan found love in his home town and they decided to stay in Tuckerville.
I'm glad Lexi found herself. I'm proud of the way the author wrote about Ivan she made him caring and lovable. She made him a gentleman not someone who used his stature to get the girl he used kindness and understanding.
Less moves across the country to get over a broken heart. Tuckerville definitely gave small town vibes. Everyone knows everyone and allllll your business. She meets Ivan and he was just moving back as well.
Things take off but so many bumps are in the round.
I love stories about small towns! Jessica was a messy so & so. Maria was too but their plans were for naught. I love how smitten Ivan & Lexi are with each other.
This was an okay read it had romance and a lot of small town gossip that Jessica spearheaded….. Ivan and Lexi were just meant to be on to the next book
