My name is Vanessa Harlow, and I have been kidnapped, drugged, and held against my will. I have no idea if Tanner, Colten, and Nik are out there looking for me, but it wouldn’t matter anyways. Looking out the windows of the old farmhouse I now called home, I knew I wasn’t in New York anymore. The old rules I used to live by no longer apply. Not when I was living with a psychopathic murderer with a stalking problem. Even if I managed to escape, he would bring me back again. He says he’s changing me. Transforming me into something… darker. All I have left is a will to survive, even if that means changing the rules.
I thought this duet was alright. However I didn't like Fynn by the end I still didn't care for him. I mean he was mad at the guys yet it was his fault he bailed. Also the author said that the murder if grace was there suddle but there just had to figure it out. But I really wasn't unless it was fynn but I doubt it cause the age doesn't match up. Or maybe it was Fynns dad. Or Tanners but tether then that no villain has been mentioned. There really isn't anything to go on. I thought it wasn't that great that fynn had her all this time but she found to like him pretty quick forgetting or being mad at the other guys and all they tried to do is keep her safe as well. It's not their fault she doesn't listen and just goes off. Even after everything was sorted out I still don't like fynn. And don't think he should of been part of the Harem. I mean hebwas 18 and she was 7. He basically stalked her since then. That's creepy as hell no matter how you look at it. Ok so other then that I loved the rest of the duet. Although the ending was very quick. I loved that she was fiesty too. Though some things I also didn't like but most part liked. The story was pretty good too for a duet even tho I wished maybe for another book. And please don't take this as a neg review it's just my opinion on this guys and probably most people will like him but not me. I mean he kidnapped her drugged her to point of having withdrawals stalked her for years and not to mention stabbed her. I dont care the reasoning. Anyways I hope you enjoy this duet. I read both in one day. The author truely wrote this great. You either like a character or you don't and she did just that imo. The story was well written as well. And Mike that actually surprised me. Especially how fynn described him he looked loving to Tanner. His betrayal came out of nowhere especially since he was their driver alot. I knew he worked for Tanners dad but i also thought he cared about Tanner and also worked for him. lol I don't know how she graduated missing so much school. Apparently she was with fynn for months and she had missed a bunch of day after shebwas back as well. No way she would of graduated lol. But im glad she did. She wanted to move to a small town that doesn't mean the guys couldn't still do as they were doing in a new town. Be a detective, be a club owner, be in security, be a lawyer. And yet they all quit there jobs. I didn't like that either but that's what makes a story great as well. The different interpretations and how the book made you feel. I still felt good reading this hense why I finished both books in 1 day. I couldn't put them down so go ahead and get to it start reading. I'm definelty looking more into this author. Sorry this was a bit of rambling. Wanted to tell you what I gave it and why but also what was the reason for only 4 stars. The positives and negs that are only my opinions you may not feel that way so please just start reading you'll enjoy it.
Bottoms is book two of Dark Arsenal by Kay Wilder. This will have spoilers for book one, so if you haven't read book one, do that before you read this review. This book begins with Vanessa waking up knowing she's with Fynn and she's been shot. She's hopeful the guys will find her, but as time passes, she begins to doubt she'll see them again. Fynn saves her, but Nessa is still unsure what he's playing at. She finds Fynn isn't what she expected. He is cold and ruthless but also observant and logical. He plays by his own rules. He begins to help her find her truths. When he allows her to see her men again, they are shocked by how much she's changed and fear they have lost her. Now that Vanessa can finally admit what she wants, will she be able to get it?
Bottoms is perfect. Readers gain much more knowledge of the characters and see how Fynn fits into the story. I fell in love with Fynn. He is dark but brutally honest, and he never lies to Nessa. He wants to make her more…almost like he knows this isn't the person she was meant to be. He wants to find the woman she would have become if life hadn't been cruel to her at such a young age. Watching Nessa come alive and discover herself anew and take control is a beautiful thing. There are still more twists and surprises yet to learn in this conclusion.
Bottoms is appropriate for adults only due to graphic $ex, violence, and adult situations. There are quite a few triggers in this book so check the content warnings if you need to. I gave Bottoms 5 out of 5 stars. If you enjoy thrilling dark romances where the female isn't forced to choose between her super spicy love interests, pick up this book. If you haven't read Tops, make sure you read it first!
Triggers listed at the end of the review to avoid spoilers. Be aware: the list is extensive- if you have a TW, please heed the author’s warnings.
Bottoms is the conclusion of Kay Wilder’s Dark Arsenal Duet. It is not a standalone book. You must read Tops in order to understand the plot and characters of this book.
The book begins right where Tops left off. Our spunky heroine, Nessa, has just escaped one dangerous situation only to find herself in deeper peril at the hands of her Sta!ker. Things are not always as they appear. The more time she spends in his presence, under his influence, the more she questions everything she knows.
Fynn has been obsessed with Nessa for years. He’s systematically followed and guided her life from afar, leading her along the path he wanted her to follow in every aspect.
Nik, Colton, and Tanner frantically search in vain for her. Nessa trains and plans. Fynn guides them all like a puppet master. What happens when someone even more sinister pulls his strings?
This was an excellent conclusion to the series. Explosive secrets and actions. Great character development and emotion. You can feel Nessa’s pain, panic, and pleasure. A wonderful read.

This book picks right back up where book on, Tops, leaves off. Vanessa (Nessa) is our FMC in this series. She meets Fynn and gets to know him better. The question is, will he let her live? Will she make it back to the three men she was taken from? Will she finish grad school? Will she be able to go and work in the museum as she had planned?
This was a great series. The second book being darker than the first. But, you get to flavor deeper into each of the characters and learn what is important to them and what happened in their pasts. I throughly enjoyed it and recommend it.
Fantastic second book of the Dark Arsenal duet. This starts where Tops ended and we finally meet Fynn. I think there may be something wrong with me because I fell in love with Fynn. Which, given that I'm already in love with Tanner, Colten and Nik and that Fynn is a bit of a psych0, is a problem. Vanessa finds her strength in this book, which is good cos she really needs it. With their enemies in plain sight and hidden in plain sight, things get explosive. The only thing I wish, that wasn't covered, was that we found out what happened to Grace I totally recommend this!
I loved the suspense of this book. The last book ended with Nessa being kidnapped, which is where we picked right back up. I imagined it was a sinister plot, not realizing that there was a back story with Fynn. There turned out to be quite the backstory there, but I don't want to give too much away. There were twists and turns that you don't see coming, especially at the end. I loved how the book ended. You thought it ended one way, and then the epilogue gives you a different look. This author loves to keep you guessing or to blow your mind with her writing, and she definitely succeeded here.
In this conclusion to the Dark Arsenal series, we see Nessa at the hands of her stalker… but lines are deliciously blurred. And what you thought were your morals are put to the test and flipped on your head, and you just might come out thinking differently about Flynn. Colton, Tanner and Nik are desperate to find her… we get to see what is happening on their end as well as what is happening with Nessa. This was a wild ride for the end of the duet. Dark emotion, watch your triggers, and you will wonder why you feel the way you do… but you WILL FEEL ALL THE FEELS.
We pick up right where we left off in Tops and Vanessa has had her world flipped totally upside down. She’s been brutally injured and kidnapped by a very dangerous person who her guys have a past with. Vanessa really finds herself in this book and it’s very interesting because she really wouldn’t have gotten that if it weren’t for Fynn. I gotta say I do enjoy how much the guys were on the struggle bus without Nessa there and how devoted they stayed to her in her “absence”. There was a lot to unpack and I loved every second of it! Great conclusion to this duet.
Kay Wilder’s second book in her ‘Dark Arsenal Duet’ really caught me by surprise. Near the ending of the book was an unexpected twist I didn’t see coming. I’m a fan of this author and I think she did an amazing job with her duet. The storyline hooked me right from the beginning. It has plenty of exciting adventure, mystery, suspense and steamy situations that is so riveting that I couldn’t put the book down until the very last page. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!
Bottoms takes place right after the shocking events of Tops! We get to finally see what makes Fynn tick and why he has been so obsessed with our girl. Nessa comes back swinging after taking thr time she needs to really evaluate what has happened in her life and where it was going. Finally when Fynn came back to Bottoms it felt like all the puzzle pieces had slid into place and e eryone was where they finally needed to be and Tanner, Colten, Nik, Nessa and finally Fynn the family was all together and the wrongs all got righted!! Great Duet by an amazing author
This picks up right where Tops left off. We get to learn more about Fynn here and his past with the rest of the guys. Fynn also pushes Nessa to grow and molds her into a stronger individual. While his motivations may be questionable, Nessa does come out tougher than before and even the guys are surprised at her transformation. Meanwhile, our gang has to contend with overarching opposition as they fight to stay together and find the best outcome. Definitely a good conclusion to this duet.
The second book of the duet is just as good as the first. Lots of spice... Really good spice. The plot in this book really takes off right on the first page, and you see the characters grow and change throughout the book because of the choices they have to make. And did I mention there's some really good smut? Loved this duet, and would definitely recommend it.
I don't know how to put into words how I feel now that this duet is over. I feel like it could have ended far worse. But, I know I can sleep tonight now that I have finished it. I had to put Bottoms down for a minute because I ultimately didn't want it to go the other direction. Kay Wilder is an absolute goddess with her books and story telling. <3 Watch for triggers, 10/5 stars.
Fantastic Conclusion! There was action, suspense, angst, steam and so much more! The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. This book went in a direction I never imagined and I loved it! We got multiple POVs in this book and I loved that we got to hear from the guys! Such a surprising and fantastic epilogue! This was a definite 5 star read! I loved it!
I instantly fell in love with Flynn! He is somewhat dark and intense, but he helps Vanessa by saving her life and helping her grow into more of a stronger woman. I thought this was a great ending to the duet! All Vanessa’s men bring something to the table and truly balance her out. I am looking forward to reading more dark romance books from Kay!
I so much enjoyed the second book. I predicted most of the plot, but it was still an enjoyable read. I think I figured out who killed Grace, but will go look at FB to see if I was correct.
My only complaint is that it was over too soon. With the built up to the last page of the last chapter I would have wanted a bit more meat in the end.
This book picks up right where book one ended. You realize even more so that things are not ever what they seem. The MFC finds out that the villain isn't always black & white. The story kept me interested and I ended up reading the book in just a few hours. It was a great fresh take on darker romance. And a fantastic conclusion to the duet!
Warning- check the triggers (borrowed list from another review so I didn't miss one) This was such a fantastic duet. Saved to my very selective "WTF- Dark" list. Full of twists and turns, angst, a strong FMC and alpaholes.

This book was amazing it really completed the duet and answered so many questions. I also fell head over heels in love with Fynn. This story pulled on some heart strings and took me for a ride that I won’t forget anytime soon.
I loved the story. It was great meeting Finn and getting to know his side of things. Especially learning everything from the "diary". Glad they all got the hea they deserved.
I am in love with Kay Wilder! She is a baddy to the T! This is the second book in the series. It did not disappoint and everything I was hoping for. With the twists and turns, the spice, the character building, and the overall everything. Because who doesn’t love a little bit of darkness.
I love when the next book picks where the previous book left off. This one gives me the proper closure. We get to go through the emotions with them. It was well written and easy to get caught up in and understand each character. Loved this duet
There are a few unexpected twists in the book, it made the story unpredictable but in a great way. I really enjoyed this book, it was well balanced with the spice and had a unique plot line.
