Whistle: A New Gotham CIty Hero is a graphic novel. We Were Liars is also a TV show on Prime Video, June 2025. We Fell Apart, book 3 in the We Were Liars universe, publishes November 2025.
we were liars: it was a good read but not great. lockhart's writing style is hard to get hooked on and the book was dull in the beginning. slow but surely this book got more and more interesting till I couldn't put the book down. the ending was amazing, the twist perfection the characters were well-devolped in the sense that they were realistic but not likable. a bunch of spoiled, rich, trust fund kids who act like bitches and their token poor friend who visits THEIR FAMILY ISLAND whose bane of existence is that one of his girlfriend's grandfather is racist and that he's poor. key word ONE.
family of liars: this book is the reason I gave this review 5 stars. the most amazing prequel i have ever read. the characters were likable, realistic, and flawed. the twist was spectacular, and the ending had me tearing up.

The book "We Were Talking" can be an interesting experience for you, and concepts such as racism, class differences, and the progress of the world can be seen in it, and the burning of energy to remove impurities and purification at a time when religion is less important. The book has a calm process. It starts to move and in some places you even get confused and the different parts are somewhat scattered from each other and like pieces of a puzzle, you have to connect them together, and finally its amazing and fascinating ending. which you can never fully guess and emotions full of sadness, loneliness, love, kindness and... To some extent, this book can be considered a cliché because it shows concepts such as love, lack of regret, and unlimited wealth.

we were liars- page turner. for sure. read in one sitting one night. the ending I couldnt predict which was actually such a good surprise. I predicted something of the sort, but I wasnt exactly right so that was nice. love the family dynamics and the portrait of the island. such a comfy good read. family of liars- very good. such a family science book to read, explains so much of the dynamics that went on in the first book. murder and secrets and lies and all these stones the family was built on. also one that I didnt quite predict so that was good. overall enjoyed them and would maybe read again one day.

BY FAR MY FAVORITE FICTIONS EVER. I read these as a late teen, young adult. I have yet to find a single/pair/series that hits the same. These books had the perfect mix of romance, mystery, and character growth. I mean, IDK how E. Lockhart does it! This was the first attachment to an author I had ever experienced. Now that I’m out of college and have adult time on my hands, I will for sure be reading more from her.
I read both of these books in order and they were two of my favourites. The pacing of the book and writing was amazing for my attention span as I tend to get bored quite easily. I also loved how the theme of obsession was portrayed I these books as well and how we could see a pattern of behaviours emerging in the families. It was thrilling, entertaining and with the first book a little bit emotional. Highly recommend !

Prefered we were liars, but both werent incredible. I like the writers style with the list of 3 descriptions of ppl but the repeat story of overused of prescription drugs and the depression was just boring for me. Sad bc the plot was good
I am not usually surprised by a book's ending. We Were Liars caught me completely by surprise! So glad my niece recommended to me! The second book, which is a prequel, also had a twist at the end but, the first book was such a shock that the second one closed the story but without the same impact.
We Were Liars has a didn't-see-it-coming plot twist that completely surprised me. Very entertaining fluff that made me want to read Family of Liars which I did. Also enjoyed Family... and will probably read the next one.
I picked up the book because of the hype off of Tiktok, and it was heavily overrated. I don't know what I expected, but the ending was well crafted, just not my cup-of-tea.
O primeiro não é tão bom e diria mesmo confuso mas faz parte do plot portanto merece reconhecimento. O segundo é uma obra de arte nenhum livro me deixou tão agarrada como este!!!
I enjoyed "We were Liars" better than "Family of Liars", but it was nice to get some of the back story. The books keep you wondering and wanting to keep reading.
