This is a very special love letter from a fan of baseball and several very special players to share their stories with the rest of us fans of baseball. There’s plenty to enjoy here, even if you aren’t of an age to have seen these players in action live.

Excellent book. As a person who has conducted Oral History interviews, I can appreciate the work that went into this book. The author does a nice job of giving us some background information on the interviews lives after their moments in baseball. This book is 34 years old and still has to be classified as one of the best it captures some voices from the mid 20th century And as a historian and a newly minted fan of baseball I can appreciate that.
