Aleisha Maree knew she was going to write... well, since forever.
As soon as she could read, she wanted to be that escape for others.
Words pulled her in and held her tight in a world that captivated your soul and took you on a journey.
She crafts sensual, sexy, tantalizing stories that weave together her love for darkness, pure passion, and most of all human emotions which dance on the cusp of your soul.
She's from the South Island of New Zealand born and raised in a tiny but extraordinary village called Wakefield which holds so much more than her heart.
She now lives in the North Island of New Zealand in another village called Wharepapa South with her husband and 6 kids on a dairy farm.
When she's not consumed by those beautiful humans, she's knee-deep in writing, working on another work of art to captivate your soul and mind. To take you to the edge and back again.
She's a dark soul and introvert who loves nature and water, is insanely in love with coffee and reading.
She can always be found with her family with a book in her handbag and the wind in her hair.
Just keep an eye out for all the loud crazy kids, and she will be like right there!

Bound by Obsession is the first book in the Bound Series by Aleisha Maree. This is probably the hardest book of Aleisha Maree’s that I have read- mostly because of the raw and gritty nature of the story. Aleisha Maree doesn’t hold back, plunging us right into a very dramatic story. It’s an intense, emotive, eye opening story about obsession, addiction, and sex drugs & rock ‘n’ roll. I though this was going to be a Rockstar romance. But I wouldn’t call it romantic- it plummeted deeper than that- catapulting us into a passionate, all-consuming, dysfunctional relationship- that develops in the seedy underbelly of the music scene.
It’s full of obsessive tendencies, addiction, push-pull, drama, angst, emotion, secrets, chemistry, intensity, drug use, substance abuse, and everything in-between. I found it quite distressing at times, and it certainly took a toll on my emotions.
As with everything Aleisha Maree writes, she puts her whole heart and soul on the line, wringing every drop of emotion and intensity out of her story, which certainly puts her characters through the wringer.
This is definitely not a ‘light and fluffy’ Rockstar romance, so consider yourself warned!

Thank you, Aleisha Maree!

Jayden and Tru will take you heart, emotions and rip them apart and slowly put them back together. Each page and word you read it will pull you in more and more. This book touches on just about everything from addiction, drugs, rock and roll, women, and so many other things you won't be able to put it down. I laughed, and cried it will take you on a journey to see if love can survive anything . Amazing read and I can't wait to see what she has next

Holy shit!!! This was so much more than a rockstar romance. This was a story about dealing with pain, addiction, coping and broken hearts. This story of rockstar Jayden James and his bad boy rockstar lifestyle including drugs, alcohol and lots of women turns into a love story dealing with betrayal, addiction, and learning be sober.

This was an amazing story of two people falling in love and losing their way. Trying to find their way back to each other and themselves before real tragedy happens. This book gave you all the feels. I can’t wait for the next book.

When asked to read Bound By Obsession by Aleisha Maree I said HECK YES!
Anything this amazing lady brings into the book world is always full of suspense, emotion and hard core - kick ass characters. This is book one in a new series and is bound to have you addicted.

As the frontman of Triple X, Jayden James looses himself being caught up in the rockstar lifestyle of addiction. There’s nothing too strong or sweet that he doesn’t crave, so when a stunning waitress falls into his life there’s nothing Jayden won’t do to make sure he gets a taste.
Tru Monroe has worked hard to keep her obsessions at bay; working as a waitress to keep a low profile. However when the rap devil himself comes at her full force, she’s bordering on being sucked back into the world of addiction - that addiction being non other than Jayden James.
Will either of them survive the devil, or will they become their own worst nightmare?

This novel has so much raw emotion.
Taking the trigger warning into consideration upon starting, I had no idea how much it’d draw me in and leave me lost for words. I’m in awe of this story, these characters and the events they face - whether together or on their own.
If you love anything Aleisha Maree, you’ll know she’s all about deep, dark, soulful and eye opening events in her work. This... I f-loved this!!

This comes recommended.

If you have read any of Aleshia's books you have discovered that she doesn't hold back. This look into the dark, seedy side of the music business is no exception. Its deep, its very dark, its raw and soul baring. Sex , drugs and Rock are forefront. The manic that comes from Jayden's personal experiences shows in his music, his hard use of alcohol, Drugs and women and his obsession of the waitress that said no. Tru Monroe is also tormented by her own addictions and obsessions. She is trying hard to keep her head down and stay below the radar. Working hard to earn a living waitressing, until her ultimate personal demon in the form of Jayden James comes back into her life.
This first in The Bound Series is not for the faint of heart it is raw. Gritty and may have triggers. Read at your own risk, be prepared to have all the reactions that come with a great story.

“Bound by Obsession was emotional and enthralling. My heart beated chapter by chapter with the intense rollercoaster ride of emotions from the very beginning to the end. Living on the spotlight seems fascinating and intriguing but what happens with the dark side? Aleisha created an amusing rockstar world that had me impressed. Plus the constant push and pull between Jayden and Trus had me falling in love with this story. A truly amazing read!”

What can I say about this story that will convey the impact of the emotional rollercoaster ride you're about to go on? I honestly don't know as everyone will take something different from this book. Not everyone will like Jayden like I did but I get where his tortured soul is coming from... do I agree with the way he does everything in his life? No, but when he decides to do something good, it's a beautiful thing to watch unfold...
As for Tru, she too has a beautifully haunted soul but isn't quite at the level Jayden is... until she surpasses it.
These characters will leave you with an unadulterated insight into addiction and the impact it can leave in not just yours but your loved ones lives but it will also leave you with a sense what can be achieved with perseverance and an incentive to make your life better...
Jayden and Tru's story isn't for the faint of hearted, it's raw, it's honest and it will break your heart but then, bit by bit it will put it back together and restore your faith in humanity and love...

So gripping

This book was so emotional and gripping. My heart literally went through the motions from the very begin right to the end.

Jayden and Tru's story pulls you into the Rockstar world and give you a first hand look at the good, the bad and the dangers that comes from living in the spotlight.

Bound by Obsession isn't for the faint of heart but it's truly an amazing ride.

Oh wow wow wow I’m totally blown away
Jayden your hard core rocker totally lives by the phrase sex drugs and rock n roll
Tru sweet tru the girl has major sass and just a hard woman

So the book is all about leader band member Jayden and how he meets tru and the long road towards there love story

The twist and turns in this book where wow when I thought finally they gonna be together I was so wrong and so much more. They say you have to reach rock bottom before you can help yourself well Jayden and tru both hit rock bottom and it’s crazy as Ride but wow I learnt a few things from the book to expect the unexpected

Oh and a big shout out to Bella who is in the book omfg she’s the cutest old lady you will ever met

Bound by obsession made my heart hurt , it’s so real and raw and an unfiltered glimpse into addiction, codependency and the pain and reality of trying to save and be saved. I could not put this book down it sucked me in and held me by the throat. My heart broke for Tru and Jayden. They are held hostage by their own demons they wanted nothing more to love each other and find a happily ever after but couldn’t overcome the darkness and allure of their addictions. Addiction is a powerful senseless monster, I felt everything these characters felt to my core. I cried for them and held out hope for their happiness.Sadly, there is no happily ever after, just the will to live and love and fight through the darkness. There were times they individually and as a couple had me yelling at the book and wanting to grab them and shake them and open their eyes. Bound by Obsession is very much worth reading. Hang on to your heart and grab the tissues and fall in love with Tru and Jayden.

This book was a rollercoaster of a read. It is the first in a new series. I was so surpised how much I enjoyed it. It comes with a trigger warning and I highly suggest taking that seriously if you can't read about drugs and alcohol addiction. It is a great emotional story which leads the main Character Jayden through a journey where he learns about getting his life together, becomming sober and where he deals with people that betray him.
The story later becomes a love story, which fizzles out and then finding their way back to each other and the challenges they deal with and is amazing reading as Jayden grows as a person.

Oh, My Lord, I don't even know where to start with this book. Warning: This book has many triggers... It's sex, drugs, and rock & roll galore; Full of foul-mouthed, sinning, dope using, selfish punks. Just saying, lol.

Jayden James is the notorious 'Rap Devil' of the band Triple X. He parties as if every day will be his last, and at the rate at which he drinks, does multiple drugs, and beds women, his end day could very well be soon.

Try Monroe is a reformed drug addict, living a quiet life as a waitress in a popular club in New Zealand. Her life is turned upside down and sideways when Triple X comes into her club and leaves a massive problem to be cleaned up and hidden.

The times that Tru and Jayden have alone together are beautiful and steamy, yet the times they are apart is hard to read. The stomach-churning anxiety and spiraling out-of-control-events for these two creates a world of pain and sorrow, that is not easy on the characters or the readers.

To be honest I did a lot of yelling "what-the-hell" while reading this book. I don't believe this is a preferred genre for me, which I can't fault the writer for that. This is an all too honest look at addiction and obsession and it is very heart-wrenching at times. The writing is authentic and raw, the details make you feel as if you are in the story. The content is great and Aleisha Maree's prose is unique and true to herself. The only down-fall for me is the lack of growth or the feelings I have towards the main characters is lacking.

Personally, I just couldn't catch the feels for Jayden or Tru, and some of the things they did while blaming the "drugs" were just so wrong and unforgivable. While this book was not my cup of tea I'm sure others who enjoy this genre will enjoy it. It's a very hardcore and hard-hitting look into the lives of those suffering from addiction and obsession.

Thank you to the author for an early copy. All opinions are unbiased, completely honest and volunteered as I wanted to read and review this book.

Pretty hard to read because it's a horrible subject....drug addiction....and it's a mess grammar wise. Still it's an interesting story and hardly a love story. They keep claiming they love each other but one or the other were high during most of their limited time together. I don't think him being a rockstar has much to do with story either. It's mainly about drug addiction...can't glam THAT up much.
Interesting read.

Proofread 23rd-26th December.

I have been dying to read this book as rockstar romance is one of my favourite genres. OMG this book made me cry, laugh and want to jump in the pages and kill Jayden then hit Tru upside the head. I loved how it was set here in New Zealand.

I so can't wait for book two 'Bound by Fade'.
