High school is hard enough without knowing you’re “the Chosen One.” The Elemental Souls are born to balance the world when good and evil become out of sync. Using the power of an ancient crystal, they will change the world for the better. That’s the plan, anyway. The only problem is that Kai must find them, explain their destiny and still make it to journalism on time. Yeah, that should be easy…
GG Anderson began writing in middle school. Her teacher focused the students to allow their feelings to flow onto paper and become their own characters. Once the first characters began talking in her head, they never stopped.
Although she set down her pencil for almost ten years, the passion for writing never left her heart. The characters were allowed out of their box once again when a friend found one of her manuscripts and asked, "I didn't know you were a writer."
She responded, "Oh I'm not."
GG believes characters are the story. Sure, plot is key, but the best tale is boring if it’s told using two dimensional characters.
Strong, flawed, hot-mess characters are her specialty- in both main and supporting roles. "We all have flaws. People relate to characters that are as lost as they are at times."
Focusing mostly on the Young Adult genre, Anderson is drawn to the fantasy world, relishing in the love of escape Young Adult Fantasy provides.
GG’s close ties with her family have influenced her writing heavily. She laughs and adds, "Each book you will find a common sense character that holds the others together. The level headed one who has the rational thoughts. In a lot of ways, that's my older sister in my life."
Although exposed to much of the United States as a child, GG lives in her home state of Idaho with her husband and daughter and her personal pack of wild dogs. (toy poodles)
The plot had great potential. I felt like the characters were not developed to their potential. The elements are found and they are instant friends and trust each other. No true depth or history.
