A young Pyromancer teams up with five sexy soldiers in this action-packed Paranormal Reverse Harem Romance.
Dragon Quintelaides aren’t meant to be split up—even for just a few days.
But that’s exactly what the Archon has planned for Alyssa's Quintelaide. Arthur is called back to the capitol to teach others his new self-healing runetracing ability, while Jaxon, Ryon, and Harry travel west to hunt down the scattered remnants of a Silithik hive.
Meanwhile, Alyssa and Maze are sent to the south to work on a secret Tinker Guild project: a superweapon that can end the war against the Silithik in the blink of an eye. A superweapon that only Alyssa can control.
But after a weapons test goes wrong, Alyssa is left with an inhibition that affects her runetracing ability. Which is awful timing, since she and Maze have to pay a visit to the gryphon capital city of Oorani to learn a secret runetracing spell that will make the Tinker superweapon unstoppable. And the exiled Runemaster who knows the spell? She won't tell Alyssa without a price.
Can Alyssa regain her abilities in time? Or will she fail the final superweapon test—and her Quintmates?
TINKER'S TRIAL is the third book in the Paranormal Reverse Harem Romance series, Pyromancer’s Path . It features exciting sword-and-bow action, a unique magic system, and all the slow-burn romance you’d come to expect from a Reverse Harem. HEA guaranteed!

I can't resist the story, even though the romance and spice leave something to desired in this book. As the title gives away, this book focuses on Aly and Maze. Some cool developments in the war that force Aly to grow yet also show none of them are perfect. They have their flaws which don't just disappear when it feels as if the weight of the world is put on their shoulders. That's what I really like about this series.
I wasn’t sure if I’d like this series at first but it’s quickly become a favorite! This book mostly focuses on Alyssa and Maze and how their relationship evolves, it’s definitely a page turner. It kept my interest the whole time I read. There was no lull while waiting for the next big thing to happen, there’s always something to focus on. It’s a must read!.

This is a fun and entertaining book. I love the writing style, and the descriptions were on point. Wonderful and fun story to read!
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.
2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.
1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

The Archeron isn’t happy with their quint so he seperated them to try and get some of them killed. Arthur is sent to the capital so that other mages can test out his newfound self healing, Jax, Ryon and Harry are sent on a mission to kill more beetles, all while Alyssa and amaze are sent on a secret mission for the stinker guild. The tinkers have made a bomb that needs a pyromancer to put their life in the line to test it and the Archeron has sent Alyssa in the hopes she won’t succeed.
This book gave us more info on how the bugs are getting behind their lines and which the gryphons aren’t helping as much as they can. There is more information on why the Archeron is the way that he is and we see the budding relationship with Maze and Alyssa.
They both have their self doubts about their contributions and they both manifest it in different ways. They come together with their understanding of each other and it was nice to see that it wasn’t purely physical, it was emotional and intellectual as well. In previous books, Maze is hilarious and Alyssa has a good sense of humor as well but this book takes the cake with humor. I was laughing out loud a few times.
Still recommend this series so far. Looking forward to the next book!
"If it fails to protect me, then I'll be able to blame you. Of course, it will be a thousand individual pieces of me left to blame you, but still." He grinned at the dark humor. "I expect you'll come back and haunt me from the afterlife."
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I really love how the author pays attention to every relationship within this quintelaide, and lets them develop on their own time. It creates an interesting storyline, in which all these characters are involved but where the focus rests on Alyssa and one of her men in every book.
Tinker's Trial focusses on Maze and Alyssa, and their adventure away from their quintmates. A new part of the world is opened in this book, and I loved discovering it alongside these characters. There are some shocking moments involved, but also love and companionship, and a bit of emotional healing for Alyssa and Maze. I love the combination of world building, character building and a very interesting storyline filled with action and surprises along the way. I already liked this series after the first book, but my love for these characters is growing with every book that's being released. I'm really looking forward to see what will happen next!
4.8 Mazie is just so my ideal type, B! Argh, I love him. Completely ADORE him. He’s the best of the best, period. Ah, my Lyssa… I literally trembled from all the pressure and the thriller the omissions and secrets weighted on her, and Mazie, of course, but holy fuck, my poor girl… she doesn’t deserve it! *ugly crying* But seriously, communication is a blessing, right? Huff… thank goddess my fav Quint knows that. HALLE-FUCKING-LUJAH!!! Btw, Ryon is such a cutie… ARGH!!! *ugly crying again* WHERE’S MY THREESOME!? I read this book just for the motherfucker threesome (kinda of…)! Better happen a goddamnit gang bang in the fourth one! *evil laugh* Oh, the hammock scene? It was NICE. One of my favorites so far. Indeed. Yep. Aye. But the Epilogue was THE BEST chapter *evil laugh again* fucking hate nobles. Hope my girl takes down those dumbasses because holy fuck, the government of this world? Is damned lost with those politics and riches in the power. Ew. Wanted to learn more about Maxie’s sister… but it’s okay I guess. My man and me just met in the second book, for him to die in the third one. I’m sad. Fuck. He’s the one that’s extraordinary. Goddamnit! RIP. Just… RIP. That’s the saddest book so far, extraordinary burdens for an extraordinary girl indeed… :(
This was fine overall. Some moments were great, while others didn't really make me feel a whole lot. I think it might be because Mace just isn't my favourite character of the group. I feel like I could have liked him more, but Cole just didn't dive deep enough with him in my opinion. I think there's so much to explore in the fact that the other people in the group think he's reckless with his tech, but then when Alyssa and Mace are among other Tinkers it turns out that he's actually a lot more careful. Or at we're told that he is, but I would have liked it to be shown a lot more (also in the other books). I'm also just really put off by the violet eyes? I kept thinking of that made up desease from like Deviantart or Tumblr, that supposedly caused violet eyes. Then I tried to search out something similar to violet eyes that were actually possible, and the closest I got was people with albinism, but that doesn't really fit either. Anyway, I know it's nit-picking. At least the author has fixed the issue of retconning her own writing within the same book. I didn't really pick up on it at least.
So this series is like Ender’s Game, The Poppy War, and The Hunger Games, rolled into one, sexier, series.
I’m not a big fan of the one book/one lover format. I like reverse harems for the collective interaction, rather than the focus on just multiple, almost separate, relationships. And I know there’s two more books but I read the synopsis for the next and it seems like Aly and Harry get separated from the group, like she and Maze were for this one. And we all know Ryon’s going to need his own epic before he comes around.
I’m super surprised by the griffon twist. I did not see that coming. And now I’m wondering why the ceasefire really ended. Or why the initial truce was broken in the first place. Was Archeron bribed to bring back the war? Is he being bribed now to kill the 91st? Unfortunately I don’t see much time being available for political intrigue, with all the action happening. Which is weird because all I ever wanted was an action-packed reverse harem. Why am I questioning this gift???? I’m not. I’m going back to reading is what I’m doing
I have been waiting for book 3 since I finished book 2. We pick up as the quint is working their way back, travelling throughout the countryside. They finally have some time together to bond. That is short lived as their new orders arrive and they are sent in separate directions.
I was blown away by the views we get of the world beyond what we have seen already. The gryphons are not what I expected based on meeting their ally in book 2. A definite hunger games vibe. The new weapon begs the question of how far they are willing to go to win.
We finally get an idea of why the Archeon has it out for the 91st. I was a little underwhelmed. His motivations are more petty than I expected.
I am enjoying this series. I jumped to read it as soon as it was available. I could not put it down and am eagerly awaiting book 4.

Wow!! What a fantastic story I couldn’t put it down from the moon and I started reading till the minute I finished and I am still left hanging to read more. There is action and fantastic adventures for all of these guys and the storyline is easy to read and follow from the second book it will grab your attention from the start.
Alyssa has been sent to the tinkers camp along with Maze while Jax, Harry and Ryon are sent on another mission while Arthur is to return to the capital to teach the ice mages how to heal themselves. With separating all of these members of the Quint, the Archon‘s hoping that they will be defeated by the hives, but once again they prove their metal and they are stronger together and defeat another hive.

The story goes further in a new book. It is better as you have read the first books in this series before you read his one. You can read it as a stand alone, but I wouldn't recommend that.
This book has as main characters of course Alyssa, but next to her Maze the tinker of her Quintelaide. They were split up from the others to go on a special secret mission. A mission in which Alyssa has to do something big and she gets hurt because of it, making rune tracking a bit more difficult.
The mission also brings Alyssa and Maze closer together. Tehir bond is developing and they open up to each other. In the second half of the book they are reunited with the others except Arthur. I can't tell much about what happens next, because it would be to much spoilers. I had to laugh about the epilogue.
A weapon test gone wrong, a secret spell and our heroine's powers are on the blink. Can anything else go wrong? Forget I asked that...
This is book three of the series. The story does okay as a standalone, but you will find it more enjoyable if read in order.
This is a fantasy reverse harem romance story. The story is well written and easy to read, with well developed characters that each make a unique contribution to the story. This series is a bit of a departure from the previous books I have read by this author due to the fantasy setting. But the story still provides action, romance and steam, so all is good. The story was fun to read and very enjoyable. I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Highly recommended.

This book is hazardous to anythings you may have to do as once you start you really wont be able to put it down Standing up against your foes is hard doing so against your friends is even harder . This is no soft romance story but hard hitting realities of war and betrayal . You do need to have read the other books in order to appreciate this one but since they are all such well written and compelling stories that is no hardship. Keep a box of tissues at the side of you as you read .. you will need them with this 3rd book in the series and lots of patience to wait for book 4 . A brilliant series that you will want to read again and again.

As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews for this series, we get a new mmc POV with each new book and this time we got Maze and Ally’s POV. Maze is where I thought some more intense Danni issues were going to come out, and yes there are some, but it does seem to be gearing up(we all know our grumpy Shadow is going to have the biggest issues and that’s book 5). The story is moving along well and we get more world building and more of a sense of what the tinkers do. Because of what happens in the story we don’t get to see as much or Jax and Arthur, which is sad and necessary for the plot. Can’t wait to see what happens next and if they can stay a step ahead of all their enemies!.

I loveeee Maze! I’ve been most interested in his perspective from the beginning, as the character who always makes the jokes. I love that he feels he can drop that facade with Alyssa. I loved getting to see his protective side, and caring side as well, towards Aly. I like that the author didn’t make them all just fall in love with her and give acceptance right away, and had their new pyro work for it, like she had to work for everything else she’s done. That being said, I enjoy the fact that Aly can still surprise her quinmates and impress them, since they still sometimes doubt her (understandibly so), and underestimate her. I cant wait to see how her relationship advances with the other two, and how they continue to fight the war on bugs.
I always hate when harems are split up for an extended amount of time and this is more or less the premise of this book.
Aside from being a tinker I feel like Maze still does not have much of a character? The FMCs actions are stil completely erratic and her self-bullying is starting to really get on my nerves. Grow a spine girl!
I also don’t get why everybody is blushing like a 13yo every time sex comes up yet turning into rutting rabbits in the most inconvenient circumstances.
I liked some of the plot choices, like || the idea of putting the bomb through the portal, although enraging, I also love the idea of the gambling gryphins || but overall I am looking forward to the quint being reunited again.

A nice continuation on the story of Alyssa and her dragon quint in their fight against the corrupt Archenon and the silithik beetles taking over the territories. This one sees the development of her relationship with Maze, still building that trust and burn with the rest of her quint. Whilst this book sees her more settled in her role, it still remains a slow burn as we can (hopefully) expect to see the rest of her relationships with the rest of her quint in future books. Half a star knocked off as this one is a little bit slower on the action. Still recommend to those who love a bit of fantasy. Side note: loved the positive interactions with the villagers in the start.
Alysa continues to try to fit in with her Dragon Quintelaide and she and Maze make great steps in this book. Alysa and her other Quint members have been separated which is unheard of. She continues to hone her pyromancer abilities. While she is making these attempts, she is seriously hurt. She is unable to use her abilities, but doesn’t tell her team. She is given a special rune tablet that many people will want. Ryan remains distant, but may be interested. This is book three of the Pyromancer’s Path and a great addition. Great read!.

The war carries on and things are looking grim. The Archon is a true politician, which is to say he’s an angry bitter man with “little man syndrome” who is holding a serious grudge against Alyssa’s Quintelade. He wanted a scapegoat for the devastating losses suffered at the fall of Fifth Academy. The Academy is the final chapter of learning for the six specialists that form quintelades (if you’re wondering it used to be five).
What new tricks will the Archon pull on them next in his efforts to create a clear and obvious scapegoat out of the 91st/ 133rd Q?
Maze, the Trinker, gets to shine in Tinker's Trial. The storyline had elements of steampunk, which isn't my favorite, but it was expected. Alyssa is once again thrown into something over her head, but she and her Quint persevere.
The characters are still as strong and commanding as in the first two books, but I didn't care to much for how it ended. Not exactly a cliff hanger, but left hanging for certain. I'm taking a guess that Harry, the Ranger's story is next, and I'm looking forward to it.

This story starts immediately after the other as the Quint is slowly traveling back to the Capital. Orders come in to split the team into groups with a secret plan for Maze and Alyssa. Joy from Maze turns into heartbreak as he learns more about their mission. We learn more about Maze as this is his book in the series but everything always ties back to Alyssa. I loved the individual adventure and growth that the team is experiencing but they need Arthur back and to start protecting themselves against ALL their enemies.
“Tinker’s Trial” is the third book in the series and I could not have loved it more. The story was fabulous. It continues with the great characters we already know in the Dragon Quint. The story has mystery, suspense and intrigue. The chemistry between the Quintmates builds as their relationships evolve. I really enjoyed this story and was gobsmacked by some of the revelations. I cannot wait for the next book!.

This is another intense read, full of drama, action and magic, that showcased how the quint is getting stronger in working together. Love how their relationship is also progressing - but separating a quint continues the dark undercurrent of their world and really puts an edge on things for them. It does allow a deeper connection, though, as she gets alone time with Maze and I loved learning more about him while she did. And yes, there was some steam to go with ;) Exciting and well written, the author has me anxious for the next book. Well done!
Cassie does it again with book three! The group is together only for a blink of an eye until they are sent on mission. Alyssa goes to Tinker with Maze. While the others are sent elsewhere. Finally Arthur is send back to the capitol to teach the ice mages. I just love how each book focuses on Alyssa and one of her dragon quint. Will Archenon achieve in destroying the Dragon Quint? Bring on book 4 like yesterday.

“I dreamed of birds. I lay on my back on the soil, pungent as if freshly tilled and ready for the crop.”
Those will be on the first page of the fourth book. Because this series has been very slightly reworked from Ruby Ryan’s series. Honestly, if you like the series I’d hope the author really worked on the next book because the Ranger was the weakest character. And let’s really hope the author changed the ending of the series because all of the heroes dying and the main female lead killing themselves was a bad ending to the series.
Alyssa’s team has been split up, and she and Maze the Tinker are off on a secret mission. But death and horrific new revelations await them; will Alyssa and her team be strong enough, solid enough? I devoured this book, absolutely in its grips from the first chapter. My heart was in my throat too many times to count, but the epilogue was deeply satisfying. This series is absolutely a must-read, and at half way through, it keeps getting better and better!
In Tinker's Trial, Cassie Cole takes us on a rollercoaster of magic, suspense, and fiery romance!
Alyssa's team is split up, leaving her and Maze to tackle a top-secret Tinker Guild weapon that could end the war. But a failed test throws her powers out of sync, and the only way to fix it lies with a secretive Runemaster and a price Alyssa may not be able to pay.
With sizzling tension, high-stakes magic, and twists around every corner, Tinker's Trial is a must-read for paranormal romance fans with heat and heart!
Both Alyssa and Maze have a confidence problem. As they are sent on a mission together they get closer to each other. Over the time both give the other that needed push through their dragon bond to preform their job. This was a nice story for this pair of the QUINTELAIDE . Can't wait to see how Alyssa will pair with her Ranger and shadow.

After their last battle the quint is broken up. Alyssa is sent with Maze, the tinker, to a secret location. Their mission leads them into danger and to discover previously unknown secrets. Even when mostly reunited they are surrounded by danger and intrigue but their bond helps pull them through. Maze is adorable and his relationship with Alyssa grows strong when they have time alone.

So this book was as amazing just as the first two.....but I absolutely love Maze! He's the fun sarcastic one of the group which I can relate too! Absolutely loved seeing him and Alyssa get to know each other better and overcome obstacles together.
But the epilogue! I pumped my fist and gave a WOOHOOO! Perfect moment of justice to a complete asshat! Absolutely loved it! Hahahaha
