雲を紡ぐ/Kumo o tsumugu/Spinning Clouds, by Ibuki Yuki. (Official English title seems to be _Spun from the Clouds_.) The “spinning”/tsumugu of the title is the verb used to express the process of turning wool into yarn. A coming of age story centered on a high school student who runs away from bullying at school and tensions at home in Tokyo to join her grandfather in the northern Japanese city of Morioka (recently featured in the New York Times).
