From Simon & Schuster, What Color Is Your Aura?: Personality Spectrums for Understanding and Growth describes the colored bands of light that surround everyone's body.
What Color Is Your Aura? is the only book available that will tell readers what color their aura is and what it reveals about their personality, emotions, talents and potential.
Cue the Twilight Zone music.... So I bought a copy of this book in the early-1990's and took the test. I got Indigo and Magenta.
Fast forward 30 years!!!
And here I am visiting a crystal store with a friend - and I learn they offer a very reasonably priced aura photography service. Why not?
I have my aura photographed. Scurry away home like a squirrel with a nut to read thru my 23-page aura results report, only to find that I'm an Indigo who does have shots of Magenta in my aura at times! WHAT??!!! I dunno how Ms. Bowers pulls off this trickery but she definitely has put together a unique offering of questions that really do allow you to find out just what color your aura is. Plus, it was very helpful to me to have her book to give me more in-depth details about the meaning of both colors. (Even weirder was that I had highlighted certain parts of her book that were still relevant to my current reading.)
Definitely worth the read! Go ahead - give it a try! It works ;-)
I love this book. I make pretty much everyone I meet take the test. Even if you do not believe in Aura's it is a very accurate personality test. I have used it with co-workers and communicating and understanding them became so much easier once I read their color. You will be surprised at how frighteningly accurate it can be. It covers different parts of your personality than any of the other tests cover. Unlike the Dewey Color, Astrology, Myers-Briggs or any other you can think of, this test covers how you interact with your own spirituality plus more. You will be surprised what you can learn about yourself.
Down below is a link to the test online (must use enternet explorer.)It will give you what the book says about your personality, but the book has everything in it. BUY the BOOK!
I live my life by this book. Proud Crystal here; this book describes me to the most minute of details! A wonderful reference tool for better understanding friends and family (and yourself, for that matter), creating dimensional characters, and just generally understanding humanity (though I suppose that last one's just a Crystal thing!) Seriously. I swear my life by this book.
This is a fascinating book of descriptions of the aura. The author, Barbara Bowers, has the ability to see auras and she did studies on the personalities they represent. She gives a questionnaire which may help you in finding out what colour your aura is, or at least what colour one of the layers of your multi-layered aura is. I use this as a reference book when describing people's auras in my saga, Beneath the Surface.
I found this book very fascinating. I've had my aura picture taken several times and you can never see me because my aura is so strong. It's always been mainly blue and after taking the test in this book, it concluded I am blue, which sounds just like me. It was also interesting to know I'm a physical tan. I believe in auras and I know they change with each situation. I recommend picking up this book if you are interested about auras.
Don't let the goofy title of this one fool you - it's wonderful. It also has the best description of indigo characteristics and quirks that I've yet to read. I was probably about 16 or 17 when I found this book, and when I got to the chapter on indigos, I cried like a ninny out of sheer relief.
This was a fun book with a long quiz -- I wish I could actually SEE my aura, because how cool is it walk around rocking a magenta aura? I wish I could enjoy it.
I am convinced our aura & chakras are vital to body and emotional wellbeing and learned that keeping them bright is easy. Wellbeing yields comfort with ourselves and others. I pondered grading Dr. Barbara Bowers’ input with one star. It was a nice idea to define auras for we who have not trained ourselves to see them. I agree, consciousness of thinking and communicating styles facilitates life. However, we need no questionnaire to know dreamers from labourers.
Her elaboration on the ways souls connect was repetitive and irksome, to have excluded animals. Discussing our powerful, protecting chakras as self-evident personalities, was like promoting cars having radios. There are greater uses. Regardless, Paolo Coelho’s novel “The Alchemist”, astutely acknowledges that we usually choose jobs and postpone vacations based on convenience or duty; eschewing our passions.
I wondered if boredom with personality lists in this year of 2022 was fair. I disliked Dr. Carol Ritberger’s personality book too but my review reminds me that she told her story and those of clients, with health patterns among the spectrum of colours. That is handy to know. Nonetheless, the most useful thing we could read is a simple list of the organs and emotions handled by each chakra: which ones to heal.
Ultimately, this questionnaire was poor. The category it allocated is not me. Its secondary traits only resemble me partially. Non-religious faith is never represented, failing to recognize my treasured spirituality. Most notably, no tests anticipate a balanced person like me. Loving private time casts me as a loner and loving parties casts me as rowdy.
“What Colour Is Your Aura? Personality Spectrums For Understanding And Growth” was old hat before 1989 but loses credibility for illogic. One personality did not comprehend emotions but would purportedly make good therapists for recognizing patterns; yikes!
Okay so I don’t know if I particularly believe in auras but I’m enamored by any book that claims it’ll help me understand who I am any more than I already think I know. The book doesn’t bother trying to convince you auras are real, it assumes you believe that just by picking the book up in the first place. What this test has to offer is a test to determine the “colour” of your aura, through a 98 question questionnaire. I received my answer and the guide that accompanied my colour was spot on in every single aspect that it was almost startling. if you replaced the words aura and colour with something like the Meyers Briggs test or some other sort of thing I’m sure it would work the same way, as most aptitude and personality tests do. I’m just glad now I can go around telling people how my actions are very indicative of my extremely violet aura
Interesting introduction into auras. The test that is included provides questions that help you determine what your main aura color is. Great book to start understanding personality types and how to relate with others of various aura colors. The book doesn't necessarily teach you how to condition yourself in being able to see these colors. But gives more info about your emotional makeup, spriritual attitudes, social type, career options, etc... A fun book to read and share with perhaps a significant other for good discussion.
The late Barbara Bowers wrote from her experience in color detail and published this slim volume in 1989. It was recommended to me by a gifted neighbor, and open my eyes to a new kind of recognition of the relationships between myself and others.
Basically an advanced personality test, but with excellent questions and insight. The author is a psychologist. Very well written. Test is fun to take with friends or as a cocktail parties.
Good book, good descriptions of each aura, and the quiz was helpful. However, taking the quiz is more helpful if you rate things only 1 or 5. It helps give a more definitive result.
