It’s Logan’s last night out before deployment. If he can keep his friends out of trouble while they have a few drinks, he’ll consider the night a success. At least, that’s what he thought until he sees Charlotte. Charlotte reluctantly let her roommate drag her to a costume contest at a local bar. Out of place, she’s ready to bolt, but the chance of winning pulls her onstage—the prize money will cover the apartment they want. The last thing she’s looking for is the Marine determined to get her attention.
For him, it’s immediate and forceful attraction. For her, it’s a slow warm up.
After a perfect night together, they keep in touch through letters. Her life goes on while his stands still. Can they find their way back to each other or are time and distance too much to overcome?
Logan, a rough and tough member of the armed forces. Getting one last hooray in with his team before they get shipped off. His world is flipped on its head when he notices Charlotte on stage. He is determined to spend his last night state side with her, no matter how hard he has to work for it.
Charlotte is out with her friends on Halloween when she's roped into a custom contest, as a pinup girl custom. Grabbing the attention of most everyone at the bar, but one seems to catch it. But she wasn't going to make it easy for him, until she couldn't put up the fight anymore.
This was a fun short fast novella. Logan was so head over heals for Charlotte. I definitely wished for more for these two. the ending was super sweet, but again i wanted so much more.
I received this as an ARC and really enjoyed getting to read it. Logan and Charlotte end up hooking up right before he leaves and they keep in touch through their writing back and forth while he's deployed. A good short novella, with some good spice. I would love to have a longer version with watching how their love unfolds. Overall a great book.

*I was gifted this book as an ARC review by the author.*
This book was a short little novella, and it had me smiling from the beginning. The chapters are short, so you don't even realize you're at the end of the book until you are. It's a quick read, but it'll have your heart melting. Logan, this tough marine, talking FATE with a girl he barely knows. It's cute, there are moments you laugh, moments where you get a little sad. It's perfect.
I think the only way I could think negatively of this book is possibly how short the chapters are. But even that's not a negative. When you reach the end, you have the whole course reading meal.
Tropes: Fate, Friends to Lovers, military. Spice: 3/5
**I was was sent this as an ARC by the author**Short and sweet! I had been on a fantasy kick and this novella brought back why I love a sweet/spicy romance. I loved Charlotte and Logan’s relationship as friends, but married…. I was living for it. Watching their love develop through letters and jokes was amazing. My only issues is I wish it would have been longer. I would have loved to have had more of their story in detail. Novellas are great but always make me want more.
Fate, Military, he falls first

The short story follows two characters who have a chance encounter and the question of whether it was fate that they met, hangs over them. Charlotte and Logan meet the night before he is deployed for 6 months. They have a night of passion and then continue writing letters while living their lives. Logan is convinced that fate brought them together. But did it?
It was a very quick read, and I really liked the concept. I just wanted more. Not necessary a full length novel - I wanted more description in the settings, more substance to their letters, more of what was happening in their lives while they were apart all those months.
If you are into military romances, fast burn love, quick reads, then pick this one up!
This was an insta-love novella with dual POV. The FMC is a teacher that has a one night stand with a Marine. They develop a friendship and become pen pals. The spice level is 🌶🌶. It has a HEA. It ended too quickly for me.
