Bunny has spent a long night hiding Easter eggs, and now it's time to get some rest. But when she burrows down to sleep, something disturbs her, and everywhere else she tries to nap just isn't right. She tries the old oak tree— too noisy! She tries a little boat on the lily pond— too wet! She tries the greenhouse— oh no! Where will Bunny go? Anne Mortimer's charming story is just right for Easter-time sharing.
If you think the cover is cute, just wait until you read the book and see all the other adorable creatures Bunny encounters on her quest to find just the perfect spot for a cozy, quiet nap (you see, she is very tired from helping to hide Easter eggs!) Each place she finds has something not quite right about it (or her fellow nap-mates) and her journey takes her right back where she started--with an unexpected twist (well, unexpected to her--I guessed it from the beginning). The story is nothing particularly remarkable but it's engaging and the illustrations are just so adorable. I love Mortimer's cat books and I'm happy she does work just as fine with bunnies, mice, hedgehogs, ducks, etc.! ;-) A nice choice for Easter, especially as children are encouraged to find the egg that is hidden on each page.
A repetitive story about a tired Easter Bunny looking for a good place to sleep.

Bunny is very tired after hiding all her Easter eggs, but she can't find a good place to sleep. She leaves the one egg she didn't hide behind to search for a good napping place., Every place has its faults--too noisy, too lumpy, too wet, and so on. In defeat, Bunny returns to her basket and finds a new friend.
What I thought: Loved it! I'm a sucker for a good Easter book. The story is great. I like the onomatopoeia and the repetition. The illustrations are beautiful. I really enjoyed looking for the egg hidden on each page. I think children will, too.
Having hidden all of her beautifully-decorated eggs for the Easter egg hunt, a weary Bunny seeks sleep in this sweet holiday picture book, only to find that every place she tries to lay her head is too disruptive to provide her the peace and quiet she needs. From noisy birds to prickly hedgehogs, quacking ducks to pouncing kittens, Bunny can find no repose, eventually returning to her basket, where she discovers that the source of the noice which drove her from that original napping place has resulted in a new friend: a beautiful !
I am a great admirer of English author/illustrator Anne Mortimer's artwork, having enjoyed it in numerous feline picture books, from Sue Stainton's Santa's Snow Cat to Margaret Wise Brow's A Pussycat's Christmas. That said, Mortimer's own Pumpkin Cat, the first of her books that I read where she was also the author, was a miss for me, from a storytelling perspective, so I wasn't sure what I would make of Bunny's Easter Egg. I'm glad I gave it a try, as I found it a sweet little seasonal story—a progression tale, in which Bunny is driven out from resting place after resting place, finally finding her way back to where she began, where a lovely surprise is waiting for her. I think this structure works very well, especially when paired with Mortimer's absolutely adorable artwork! Recommended to anyone looking for sweet, heartwarming Easter Bunny stories for younger children, as well as to fans of the artist's work.
Fun Easter themed book. My boys enjoyed finding the hidden eggs throughout the illustrations. The repetitive text provides a great learning experience for the younger reader though it did seem a bit long.
A cute little Easter bunny book that entices children to find the thirteen colored eggs hidden in the book. The illustrations are so life-like and adorable! It's a story about a bunny that hides all her Easter eggs except one, and what a surprise she receives!
Somewhat sweet. Repetitive, but a little too much - 1 or 2 less instances of places the bunny tried sleeping would have been appropriate. Also, the book really wasn’t even about the Easter bunny’s Easter egg - notes about the egg were just bookends for the plot of the story, soooo… yeah.
Bunny's Easter Egg is a charming story about the Easter Bunny after he's done his work. The story is delightful and the bright yet soft illustrations worthy of hanging on a wall.
Story was simple and cute. The real star here was the illustrations, they were SO adorable; and each page has a hidden Easter egg which will be fun for younger readers.
Love the illustrations. This makes a good spring book considering all the creatures Bunny encounters. Repetitive, which can start to get on an adult's nerves, but works really well for young kids. Especially in a storytime. Not as much of an Easter theme as I expected, but then I wasn't looking for Easter as much as I was a bunny theme, so this could still work.
Cute Easter tale with a tired little bunny. The story has lovely illustrations and a 'find the 13 hidden eggs' feature that keeps children engaged, scanning each page. There was one egg that had us stumped, but after a reread, we finally found it. It was a fun book to read aloud together.
After hiding the Easter eggs bunny is tired and searches for a suitable place to sleep. Finding the 13 hidden Easter eggs throughout the story is a nice touch as well.
The illustrations in this book are gorgeous! This gentle story of a very tired Easter Bunny searching for a quiet, comfortable place to sleep enchanted the listeners at storytime.
Bunny just wants somewhere to take a nap, but everywhere she tries has something wrong. Sometimes it's too noisy, sometimes too wet, sometimes there is already another occupant- UH-oh! This was a cute book to read to my niece for easter.
