Devil's Territory is a standalone prequel novella. It takes place before the start of the Barone Syndicate novellas.
Caroline I’m back in my hometown but not for a friendly visit. The Mafia has set their sights on my uncle’s bakery, and now he’s gone missing.
I will do whatever it takes to find my uncle and ensure the bakery never ends up under their control. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it… if I stay focused.
That proves difficult with someone like Raf around…
Raf The time to make a move on Irish territory is now, but there are two distinct barriers in my a bakery and the beautiful woman who won’t let it go.
When she’s attacked, I can’t just stand by and watch. I must protect her, even if doing so puts me at odds with the Irish and leads to more trouble.
Falling in love with Caroline isn’t part of the plan, but I’m sure it will be worth it.
This was the first book in the "Barone Syndicate"series. Caroline comes back to her hometown when her uncle goes missing. Raf knows it's time to make a move into the Irish territory but Caroline is standing in his way. Caroline is having problems with both side the Irish want her to pay up but she refuses. When Raf comes to her aid while she is being attacked they hook up he likes her. This was a good read. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
This was my 1st book by Natalie. I couldn't put it down. I have told all my friends about it. So here's a bit for you. You won't regret this read! Caroline & Raf are so relatable. Raf is ex military and Caroline comes home under sad circumstances. I felt both Caroline & Rsf were extremely relatable. Caroline isn't a damsel in distress. She has her own independent views & firey side. I enjoyed knowing Caroline dressed regularly for a first date, not full glamor like so many I've read. As for Raf he's definitely a dream book boyfriend. There's humor and humbling experiences for both characters. It's beautifully written and you can tell Natalie put her heart into these characters. A strong female character is always a great draw! Perfect combination of romance & action! Don't miss out on this amazing book!
This is the first book that I have read by Natalie Tryst but I look forward to reading many more, this is a short novella that can be read in one sitting but it is full of content. Her Aunt and Uncle had raised Caroline Quinn when her mother had dumped her with them and now she was back in Devil's Pocket, a salubrious, mafia ruled part of Philadelphia ........... her uncle was missing. Caroline had left her home and life in in Los Angeles, she was determined to run her uncle's bakery until he could be found but the bakery was part of a turf war between the Irish and the Italian mafia. When Caroline was threatened by an Irish Mafioso help came from an unexpected source, the handsome Rad Colucci, one of the leaders of the Italian Barone mafia gang. From the start the magnetic attraction between Caroline and Raf was off the scale but the problems were huge, could Raf allow Caroline to keep the bakery, would his boss allow it ? could he stop the Irish from taking it ? Could Caroline leave her home in Los Angeles and settle in Devil's pocket where she grew up ? could a simple baker and a hardened mafioso have a future together ? This story has plenty of action, suspense and romance and is a great introduction to "The Barone Syndicate" series. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
Caroline and Raf. Good girl, bad guy, problems in paradise and happy ending. It was really quick and enjoyable read. Mafia romance where he was supposed to be bad, turns out he’s so good at heart. She came to help with her uncle’s bakery and unexpectedly found a friend and a lover. I enjoyed every phase of their relationship, especially cooking ones 🔥
Their whole story was written perfectly. There were no bragging, no sugarcoating, timeline on point. Maybe some sentences should have been shorter but still good. Wouldn’t mind to read it once again.
What a great beginning to the Barone Syndicate! This can easily be devoured in one sitting as its a short novella. I enjoyed both Raf and Caroline together as they were so relatable. I'm so looking forward to reading more from this author!
As mafia romances go, this novella was more sweet than dark. It's an engaging story with humour and a little heat thrown in; I was hooked by their second meeting! More please!!
Caroline owns a bakery that is in the way of Territory that RAF is in line to get but when she is attacked, Raf's protective instincts kick in. I loved the passion between these two. It really was overwhelming and especially when he goes all alpha and protects her, he really becomes one to love. Natalie gives us a fantastic story with Alice characters that hold on and don't let go. Wonderful author, wonderful story!! This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
This is a great start to a great Barone Syndicate series. This is the story of Caroline and Raf . They meet when Caroline returns to her hometown after years, not for a pleasant visit but to keep her uncle's bakery running after he goes missing. Raf wants the bakery but also the land on which the bakery is located, but also knows that he can have Caroline and the bakery. When she is attacked, he is faced with a choice: help her against the mafia or go what he came for. To get answers to all those questions and to find out what he chooses and whether Caroline can find her uncle and stop the mafia then you should definitely read this story is very worthwhile.
Received a copy from BookFunnel/author for a voluntary honest review.
This is a short listen. It doesn't get into much detail, but I really enjoyed the story. Caroline and Raf have instant attraction. Both characters are wonderful. Probably because Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden performed them so well. Joe has a sexy voice and Maxine presents the story to perfection. 5 stars for them. I highly recommend this book.
Her uncle has been running a bakery in her home town but now he has gone missing so she is back to keep the bakery going. She will also try to find her uncle. The Irish wants the bakery and the land it is on but now he has to get through her. She is determined not to let it go and when she is attacked he helps her. What will he do now? Will he anger the Irish? Will he stay by her side? See just where life takes them
This standalone novella with a Happily Ever After is an introduction to the Barone Syndicate Series being released this summer! I really enjoyed this book I just didn't realize it was so short, the story line was interesting, the characters were lovable with a wonderful chemistry it was just too fast and too short and it had so much more potential.
