Is there love after death? Laurel Palmer is about to find out.

Thanks to a little shove by her husband, Laurel wakes up dead. And there’s no sign of that white light people are supposed to go into. Now a ghost stuck on earth, Laurel is determined to find out how she can get into heaven. On her search for the light, Laurel meets Teddy Rule, a hunk of a ghost who coincidentally was also murdered by her husband. Turns out, he didn’t get that light either.

As they work together to figure out what's keeping them on this earthly plane, feelings develop. Will heaven separate them or will they have an eternity together. They'll have to cross over to find out.

About the author

Pam started writing later in life when an author friend challenged her to create a book from his story idea. Being a never-say-never person, she met the challenge and managed to finish an entire novel, much to her surprise. Since that beginning, she's written several books, in several genres. Romance, middle grade and paranormal comprise most of her work. Pam has spent over forty years working as a legal secretary at a law firm in Orange County, California. Aside from writing, she likes to follow the stock market, buying, selling and trading stocks and options. Maybe in sharp contrast to that (or perhaps it's related), she loves Las Vegas where she can spend many happy hours at the Pai Gow tables. She shares a condo with her My Cat From Hell TV star, Allie, who manages to exude just enough affection to make her scary feral ways tolerable.

A good read but it felt like it went on forever and could have done with condensing the middle third of the book. At the same time however the ending felt rushed. 🤷‍♀️

A Good Read

This story jumps right into the action with the main character seeing her dead body at the bottom of the stairs of her house. We're told right away who the killer was, and the rest of the book is pretty much the main character, another unfortunate ghost who had also been murdered by the same person, and a few friends trying to figure out why and how to prove it.
Overall, this was a good story, if a bit predictable at times. For the most part I had trouble putting it down, although towards the end I felt like it was starting to drag.

The balance was great. Perfect amount of adventure, romance and the sense of magic and mystery.
The character development is beyond many other novels in this genre and you truly connect with the ones you follow.
The descriptions of the characters and their feelings are so involved, you can truly picture it in your mind. Their attitudes toward the events that are happening makes the story even richer.
Wonderful read.

A page turner

I was hooked from the very first sentence...the ending was a real tear jerker. The author's twist on the everafter was very thoughtful. Very much enjoyed the book

The action, the world building, the characters... it's all very well done.
The author takes a different approach in keeping the pace steady and constantly moving the plot, but not giving us a ton of information all at once in the beginning. We get snippets along the way. It worked, it was just a bit different.
I think that it is a great read if you like a little more substance with your paranormal romance books.

awesome short book!

Ugh! Did brandy get to go with laurel and teddy at the end?? Ugh!! Laurel dropped brandys leash, why?? I obviously have questions lol but I really enjoyed this paranormal murder mystery complete with a snarky ghost. I was hoping teddy and laurel would be together in the end and I wasn’t disappointed in that respect but I really wish we knew if brandy made into the light at the end.

This was full of characters you want to learn more about. The romance is swoon-worthy and I was so invested in their connection from the very first meeting.
I really enjoyed this story. For a lot of books, you can guess pretty easily what is going to happen, but this book though has enough mystery and twists to keep you engaged.

A woman wakes up one morning to find that she is dead. What a way to start a book! Being a ghost, she visits psychics to find out why she is still here and what she can do to move on to the light. Fun little story!
