Peach-Pit (ピーチ・ピット Pīchi Pitto) is a female manga artist duo in Japan, made up of Banri Sendo (千道 万里 Sendō Banri) and Shibuko Ebara (えばら 渋子 Ebara Shibuko). Their group name derives from the diner hangout Peach-Pit from the TV show Beverly Hills, 90210. Although both have similar styles, with some artwork it is possible to identify which artist drew it. Both are known for their bishōjo styled works. As noted in their books, they are both Geminis and have "Almost flushed our phones down the toilet...twice."

The two of them grew up together and went to the same elementary school and have been best friends ever since. Both started as doujinshi manga artists, but not as Peach-Pit. Then they were scouted by Dengeki Comic Gao!. In 2008, one of their manga, Shugo Chara!, was awarded the Kodansha Manga Award for best children's manga. Shugo Chara was also turned later into an Anime television series.

There's two reasons I gave this a 5/5. One: Ikuto and Amu kiss! Two: She's wearing a Kitty Hoodie when they do it! Is that some sort of pun?

I have a feeling they're going to end up together at the end of the series, and I would be so happy with that!

Finally, one of the main plot lines were solved. Still not Amu's character, but we're getting there. Ikuto's weird texting, haha! I have to say my heart broke a little when Ikuto said he couldn't see her anymore. I'm hoping Ikuto and Amu will end up together, but I can wait for a few more volumes. He'll be away for a while to find his daddy! I love SHUGO CHARA!

I have to say I finally have some respect for Tadase saying that Amu should be who she wants to be. It makes up for him always trying to make her something else throughout the other novels. So props to you Tadase for finally making me respect you a little bit...

There are two volumes after this, but I'm done. I skimmed them, and I'm happy I didn't spend any more time with the series. I loved this series as a teen, but my tastes have certainly progressed.

The best part was pirate cat boy.

This made me feel very emotional--especially since everyone is going to move on from when the series started back in the first volume. It also made me reflect on what could happen in the future for myself.

Re-read 2022: An almost perfect ending.. but there is a twist! Haha, really, if it wasn't for the unresolved thing about Nadeshiko/Nagihiko (really dude you haven't told her yet???) and that magical twist this could have easily been the end of series. I would have liked an epilogue sure, with Ikuto and Amu finding each other again, but other than that, it just feels weird they keep continuing it.
But the volume was also great, we find out what the embryo is, there are family reunions and secrets coming to light, an exciting battle, Amu talk to that little boy was fantastic and I was tearing up. Love love it. Also that ending at the airport + theme park, eep!

Guess I will keep on reading. Though for me this is the end.

-----------------------------

Re-read 2017: I just found out there are 11 volumes? I totally forgot this one had another volume. Weird. Um, yeah, well this is the end for me. I am not planning to re-read the last one. It just feels silly. Well, the last few pages feel like weird to me. Everything is pretty much solved. Yeah, we haven’t found the embryo, but I didn’t expect them to do that anymore.

But now all of the sudden Amu lost her Guardian Eggs? Only Diamond remains? Urgh. No.

Everything was just so cleanly tied up. Ikuto’s past, his mom and his stepdad, who the actual boss was (and it was kind of as I had expected), there were farewells, goodbyes, but also welcome backs. We found out what that shiny egg was and to whom it belongs.

I definitely was happy with everything, and I teared up a bit when Ikuto told Amu that and also did such a sweet thing (loved the people around them and their reactions). They definitely are the best couple for me. Sure, it is a bit creepy that Amu is just 12-ish and Ikuto is almost 18… But eh.

All in all, I definitely enjoyed reading these 10 volumes, the series is really good. It has some silly stuff going on, but often even those silly things fit pretty well with the story. The art is amazing (but duh, it is Peach Pit). The characters are fun. The transformations are pretty. I would recommend this series to everyone!

The second-to-last volume of Shugo Chara! surprised me by how wonderful it was. It managed to not only wrap up the Easter arc (which means revealing the head of the corporation, something that may well surprise readers) and build up the resolution for the series as a whole - specifically, Amu's relationship with Ikuto as well as her own heart's Guardian Characters. In this volume, we also see the back story of a character that has acted mostly on the periphery of the main story up to this point - and I must admit, I read it while fighting back quite a few tears. Peach-Pit knows how to tug at the heart strings like a pro.

One question keeps nagging at my mind: will the follow-up one volume manga Shugo Chara! Encore! be licensed for English language release by Kodansha once the 11th and final volume of the main SC! series is published? We can only hope! I'd rather not leave the world of Amu and friends so soon.

As usual, a charming volume to read with very engaging characters.

However, being this close to the end, the deus ex machina factor to the various plot points resolutions stretch credulity a bit, as things seem too convenient for everything to wrap up so neatly.

Still, if you can get past that and the fact that elementary school students seem to be dealing with graduation and relationship issues that usually junior high and high school students face, then this series should continue to charm you without any problems.

We're coming to the end and everything in this volume is geared to make you emotional! An ending to the Embryo story line, flashbacks to earlier story moments and constant reminiscing of everything the characters have been through, not to mention the ending to Ikuto's plot/development. Everything's concluding in a mostly satisfying way (some misunderstanding might have been resolved a LITTLE too quickly for my liking, but it doesn't distract from everything else), but we still have time for ONE MORE amazing cliff hanger! Excited to read the next volume and finish this re-read!

Okay, so I saw this picture all over the internet and I`m thinking, a kiss, finally!

but, no I was wrong, its totally only on the cheek -.-
*There had better be an actual real kiss coming up and Amu totally better choose Ikuto!
By the way, does anyone else notice Amu is wearing a sweater with cat ears? :3

The end of the book, RAN, MIKI, SU! WHERE ARE YOU?!

Amu was a great character, she was a little whiny at times but overall she was able to fight and stand up for what she believed in. I liked her relationship with everyone else.

The guardians added some comedic humor to the series and you can't go wrong with a little battle magic.

For fans of Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew.

It's been a little while since I read books 1-9, but I was so confused. The last half was better than the first, but things just seemed to jump/move too quickly.
