T.B. Phillips debuted in 2019 with his award winning series Dreamers of Andalon, a cautionary fantasy adventure taking place twelve hundred years in our future and set in the age of sail. He has been lauded for his skillfully choreographed sea battles and action sequences, painting a vibrant picture of detail directly into the reader's mind.

He is a former sailor and educator. He served the United States Navy as a Chief Cryptologic Technician and Analyst, living out his own adventures while learning about the world. Many of characters are a sum of the people he met and interacted with during his travels, as evidenced by the comradery displayed in his novels. He retired from active duty in 2008 and taught English and History before becoming a public school principal.

He began his novelist journey after a challenge by his children. As a single father he worked hard to encourage literacy and interest in the arts, and he and his children read and discussed books of all genres throughout the years.

T.B. Phillips is originally from Wichita Falls, TX and resides in Fort Worth, TX with his beautiful wife (and super-intelligent marketing manager) and their blended family of six children.

He humbly thanks you for finding his work entertaining, and hopes to do so for many years to come!

As an author, I do not review my own works. I use this space to communicate to readers, and bring news I can't wait to share.

Congratulations to the lucky winners of the 100 book giveaway on September 9th! I hope "Ferryman" rings in Spooky Season for all of you! For everyone who didn't win, please check out this fun, supernatural thriller and let me know what you think.

Ferryman was a new type of novel for me. I usually write science fiction and fantasy, but could not pass down this chance at collaboration. When Chris Hays and McLain McGuire asked me to adapt their comic series to novel form, I leapt at the chance to say yes!

I hope you find this story chilling, insightful, entertaining, and as fun to read as it was to write!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Reedsy Discovery. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

Ferryman (Creepy Creations) by T. B. Phillips is based on the Ferryman Tales comic series created by Chris Hays and McLain McGuire. I haven’t read their comic series, but after reading this book, I want to.

First off, the cover was sensational. It was spooky and mysterious, sparked fear, and the Ferryman’s eyes were mesmerizing. I could see a person becoming lost in them while their body trembled in fear over his arrival. When the transporter of the dead comes for you, you best be prepared to answer his riddle or your dues. Those who can’t pay are cursed to drown for 100 years. Not a fate I would want to live.

Many characters in the Ferryman (Creepy Creations) faced judgment day, and they had to answer for their sins. Greed and power were the roots of evil expressed. This story hammers home the point of not letting greed corrupt your soul.

Besides the hypnotic cover, the story had other elements that kept me engrossed to the ending credits. First, the story’s broken up into parts that contain different points of view from key characters such as Curtis Charles, Mary Griggs, and Captain Thomas Tew. Scenes were replayed but viewed through their eyes. We got to witness how they interpreted the events and who caused the train of events that would bring about the arrival of the Ferryman. Curtis’s POV was filled with unimaginable pain and unthinkable sights. Mary’s scenes were the most horrifying, in my opinion. She saw things of pure horrors and ghostly figures. Visions that would drive anyone insane and did.

I hope a movie studio discovers the Ferryman (Creepy Creations) and works its cinematic magic to bring it to life. If they do, I will be there on opening night!

If your reading tastes center on mythology, witchcraft, dark magic, or the paranormal, you must read Ferryman (Creepy Creations). It’ll hook you from the “Prologue,” where the Drake sinks, to the ending scenes when the Ferryman delivers the souls to their final destination.

This is different from T.B. Phillips' other books in that he collaborated with Chris Hays and McLain McGuire, taking their bestselling Ferryman comic series and turning it into a novelization. And it works! You do not have to have read the aforementioned series to appreciate the book, but if you already read the series, Phillips will give you details and elaborations that make it that much better. Phillips is a great writer, one of the absolute best, and this collaboration was a long time coming. He tells this tale with his usual grasp of the English language, telling a horror story with such prose that you might think you are reading Hawthorne or Tolkien with a dash of King in there for good measure. Phillips is at his best here, and Phillips at his best is untouchable.
