unfaithful, scumbag hero

This had the potential to be a really sweet n steamy monster novella but the author had to wake up and choose stupidity and completely ruin it.

The hero has known the heroine for years, desires the heroine, but is still sticking his overused, syphilitic dick into skanks. In one part, the heroine thinks the hero has rejected her because hes shy, but then she hears how he let THREE women service him, so she dismisses her shyness theory!

Excuse me while I vomit! Is this supposed to be swoony? Are we supposed to melt into a sighing puddle at the thought of the zero fucking three women? What kind of crackhead mind oozes this kind of shit out and thinks its romantic?

You know whats romantic and brings the swoon? A hero who doesn’t even look at another woman because his desire is only for the heroine—even if he thinks he will never have her, he doesn’t degrade his love for her by crawling between the legs of some diseased prostitute, he doesnt let whores near his body!

Just another romance fail for women with the romantic sensibilities of rotting roadkill!

Failed Palate Cleanser in between Books

Might just be a “me” thing here, but it was very cold water dousing everytime he called her ‘brat.’ I get it, this is your best friend’s little sister that you kinda watched grew up?? But constantly calling her a brat, killed anything I’d hope to enjoy in this book.

Additionally, “my little breeder” was also a strong contender for dousing any heat for me. I get it. They’re a were and a half orc (as this SHORT story insists on reminding me), so it’s all primal and aggressive. Hear me out, there’s a way to make it clear that a primal claim sexy. This was not it.

I read this as a palate cleanser before diving into another long book in my TBR pile, but it didn’t hit. It was pretty bland and both characters were juvenile and so annoying.

Two stars is me being generous.

Short and smutty story about a half-orc and a female wolf shifter. Osric and Luna are destined to be together once Osric finally gives into the attraction. Really liked this but since it was so short it lacked any and all relationship and character development. But I was here for the smut. So 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Tempting the Orc is the perfect introduction to Orc smut. It is a sweet and sexy, quick read (less than an hour for me), that still delivers the yummy stuff to be expected in the Coveted Prey universe – a HEA with a healthy dose of slick, knotting, heat, rutting, and breeding on the side.

Osric is almost too sweet for his own good. While harboring filthy thoughts of what he would like to do to his best friend’s little sister, he will never act on them as he feels he is unworthy, being a half-orc. Luna, on the other hand, is determined to change his mind. She’s known he was her mate for years and will not be denied. They really do make the cutest couple, once he gets his head out of his @ss.

Expect lots of breeding talk. It is adorable! I love how the males in this universe think mating their women will keep them docile and content.

I enjoyed reading this story, and I hope that LV Lane will add more Orcs to her Coveted Prey series in the future.

I'm at a loss for words. It was free and it had a pretty cover, so I caved in and got it...won't make the same mistake again because this felt like something straight out of 2012 wattpad. This is really just...very badly written porn.

Totally pick this one up if you're wanting a novella about a female wolf shifter and the giant half-orc man she has been lusting after!

I was a little worried going into this novella, because I hadn't read any of the other books in the series.
But this one can totally be read as a standalone! I did not feel lost at all!

This was a quick read, but as always with this authors books, I was totally engrossed in the story and characters quickly. These two characters were made for each other. Osric, the grumpy Orc and Luna the werewolf were fun characters and easy to like. Their chemistry was fire, and about the only thing I didn’t like about this book was that it wasn’t about 200 pages longer. I can’t wait to read more in the series!

My heart broke for him, he doesn't think himself worthy because he's half Orc, but that's one of the reasons Luna loves him 😍 and she's not about to let him get away, as much as he tries to fight his desire for her!

Their story was quick, hot, and steamy, and I loved every word of it! 🖤

My only notes from my read literally say "dirty orc-ish fun" and this was the perfect time killer when eating up the witching hours at work! I'll be sure to revisit the series - maybe even in order next time - down the road. The orc x shifter pairing was a new one for me - I wonder if any of the others from this series are as creative in their pairings?

What a hot and fun read. I do like a man I can climb..but who knew I liked them green with sensitive ears and other tree like parts. Osric is half human and half Orc he is grumpy sweet and a hero. Luna is a wolf shifter and his friends little sister, so she is off limits….or is she. This book is an easy and spicy read. I enjoyed it immensely

Tempting the Orc is short, sweet, and oh so hot. The author delivers on the smut, giving us breeding, knotting, the heat.

Luna’s mate is oblivious. Thanks to feelings of unworthiness, Osric believes Luna is too good for him. It’s up to Luna to change his mind and show him just how worthy he really is. Tempting this orc will be a delicious challenge.

I loved this story. Osric and Luna have amazing chemistry. I love the way Luna wears Osric down and how he absolutely adores her.

I was interested because of how high the rating was. I’m sorry to say, this one disappointed me.

The writing wasn’t very good and it was so insta-lovey I was cringing hard. I was skimming just to get to the end of it so I could still count it for my reading challenge.

I have a feeling I’ll be forgetting about this one.

Also, trigger warning for sexual assault (mention, not on page). It really took me by surprise and I feel like it could’ve been left out as it didn’t really add much to the story, in my opinion.

REVIEW:

I honestly did not have the highest hopes for this one. I love the alpha/omega RH books in this series. But the more "beastly" books (like her centaur ones), I'm not a big fan of. But this was actually pretty good.

Series-connection-wise, Luna is Raglan's (from Taken) little sister. Osric was Raglan's good friend when he worked for the Imperium as well.

I liked Osric and Luna. Their interactions were sweet and also sexy. I liked how aggressive Luna was about her attraction to him. She doesn't hold back letting him know how she feels and I loved that. Osric was honorable in that he didn't want to cross that line until Luna's mother gave him permission to peruse her. I liked him.

Together that had great chemistry and the steam was pretty hot. I'm not big on monster erotica, but I did like them together.

Overall it was better than I expected. And I liked the character connections to previous characters in the series. But I do hope very much she gets back to writing more alpha/omega RH romances in this series soon. That's what I have loved most about this series.

Wo er versucht, ihr zuwiderstehen, weiß sie genau, was sie will.

Berauschende Verstrickungen ziehen sofort in das vereinnahmte Lesevergnügen.
Osric erkennt endlich, dass er würdig ist. Wobei das Band der Gefährten nie wahrer gespürt wurde. 
Schnell wird bewusst, dass diese in berauschender Zweisamkeit enden.

Seid gewiss, ihr werdet begeistert sein, nicht nur überrascht. Denn man sollte nie Lunas Willensstärke unterschätzen.
Nicht nur der Spice, sondern auch das Gewinnen für sich, das Beanspruchen verstrickt.
Herausstechend auch die aktionsgeladenen Begebenheiten lassen nicht nur die Emotionen, sondern auch die Nerven übersprudeln.
Besonders wenn die Storyline von den vorherigen Bänden weitergeführt wird, entzückt und von altgeliebten Charakteren beeindruckt wird.

Eine tolle Mischung wird uns wieder geboten,  die mich in den Bann gezogen hat.
Ein ergreifendes, emotionales als auch spicy, verführerisches Werk, das mich berauscht und in der Geschichte vollkommen eingenommen hat.

Der spannungsgeladene Teil überrascht und lässt nicht mehr los.
Hier ist nicht nur der beherrschende und verführende Teil, der hier sehr hitzig und explosiv ist, sondern auch der voller Taten, für die Liebe einzustehen. Wo die gesellschaftlichen Unterschiede so groß sind, überwältigen die Taten, füreinander einzustehen.

Man verfällt dem beschützenden, fürsorglichen, aber auch sehr dominanten Ork, der mit jedem weiteren Beanspruchen verfällt.

Wie ihr merkt, habe ich das Werk genossen, war verstrickt, wurde wieder perfekt unterhalten, verführt und werde sehnsuchtsvoll zum nächsten  berauschenden Werk greifen.

With the fourteenth book in the Coveted Pry series, Miss Lane brings the readers a real treat. A cross species mating love story that will keep readers guessing from one minute to the next. She sets the tone from one character to the next from page one. The pace is set within the first paragraph.
The world of Osric, a member of the Imperium Guards, is brought front and center in the prologue. You would think his world would be tough, being the half orc that he is. But saving Prince, now King, Davide from a bear at a young age has earned him a place as captain of his royal guards. Which brings him to the guest at hand, To take a message to the shifters of a possible treaty.
Once Osric gets there he is met by the lass that he lusts after. And sldo id his friend Raglan’s sister Luna. Once finally in the shifter compound, he is tackled by Luna in wolf form, then teased by her in her human form. Much to the aggravation of his huge member.
Luna does much to tempt this Orc. Osric is stubborn to acknowledge his feelings for her. It takes a talk with her mother to fully acknowledge them. But once he does, nothing can stop him. Fans of Sherrilyn Kenyon will love this series as it is likable to hers.This is also good as a read alone book.

The blurb implies it's a cute romance about an orc who's in love with his best friend's sister and them finally getting together. Sounds cute and sweet right? So color me surprised when this basically jumps straight into breeding. Like what??? Apparently she's a shifter and an omega, yaddad yadda yadda same bullshit as always. I guess I just wasn't prepared for straight up breeding shit to be the main focus. It is very, very , very not my thing. Such a big ick for me. "the only way I can keep my woman under wraps, is to keep her pregnant from this day onwards" was basically his thinking once they got together. This is the first time mind you 🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤮

Idk, if you like that then you'll like this short story..... I did not. But I guess it was written okay and had good pacing for a short story.

𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞: 🌶 🌶 🌶 - I wouldn’t mind a half-orc as a mate if it was this male.

This was such a short and easy read that I did enjoy it for a pallet cleanser of orc smut.

Is this a work of ligature? No. Was it a great time reading? Yes! This is a 70-page novella so you are not going to get a major plot or tons of backstory. However, the back story that we did get was a lot more than I would have thought for this size of novella.

I did enjoy all the orc smut and shifter smut (wolf). It wasn’t anything wild or anything but just enough extra (heats, knotting, and extra size). I have been in a weird spot with reading due to high anxiety lately and this book was a nice break from the real world.

Recommended, especially for a vacation read

It is a cute story: quick, hot, easy. This novella is about Osric, a half-orc with self-esteem issues resisting Luna's advances; she's a wolf shifter and his friend's little sister. They have known each other for a very long time, so at least its not insta-love. The FMC is hypersexual, and the FMC is dominant, natch. For me, the spice is rather vanilla but with fudge on top. There is light spanking, rutting/breeding, and lots of fluids ;) Plus, the FMC is cheeky and called a brat several times.
There are some moments that pulled at my heartstrings. Now, I first read this a year and a half ago but didn't recall it at all. We'll see if I remember it in another couple of years after a reread and writing this review.
I love me some Orc smut, and recommend this, especially for a vacation or one-afternoon read.

Osric is traveling on orders from his king. He must go to the shifter pack to ask them a question from the king. The only problem? His best friend’s sister is there. It didn’t used to be a problem, but now it is as she has fulled grown up. Can he keep his attraction to her under wraps? Will he be able to get in and speak to the pack leader without seeing her?

This was a really fun shot story. I enjoyed how this turned from a best friend’s sister to a little crush that he doesn’t want to act on in respect to his friend. If you want a quick, spicy read, then this is the one to hop into.

Although I've been jumping around this series a bit...I am really happy that Osric finally got his own story, even if it's a shorter book than the rest of the series. He's got a lot on his shoulders and I don't blame him for feeling like he isn't worthy. With a history like his, it's been a lot rougher for him. But thank god for his genuine heart and care for Luna. Because of that, she saw and knew what kind of Alpha he is and from a young age, new there was no other like him. That girl knew what she wanted and went after it at all cost. Sweet, funny and sexy as heck! Only wish it was longer...but...go read it!!!
