Hexley: Iron Aces MC

Rate this book
Hex was born to be a biker.
After serving his country, he's now the president of the Iron Aces MC, his stomping ground since birth.
But it's not all sunshine and roses within the walls of the clubhouse.
Facing his internal demons comes with a hefty price, one he's more than willing to pay if it means leading his brothers out of the dark and into the light.
Getting out from under the watchful eye of the local police was a task he set out to accomplish the moment he was voted in.
Turning the club around and keeping his brothers alive and out of concrete boxes is more important than ever, despite rumors surrounding the rebirth of a rival MC that almost destroyed their family once before.
What he never planned on was her.

Author Note:
Hexley is the first book in the Iron Aces MC series and can be read as a stand-alone. This book has no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a HEA.

2.3 stars.
Ew.
Everyone in this book sucked ass.
I don’t think I liked a single fucking character.
Not even the FMC, though she was mostly tolerable.

This was a slow burn, though there really wasn’t any ‘burn’ between these two. It was mostly just Hex being a complete asshole to Skip, and Skip trying to stay out of his way while also thinking he was hot sometimes.

Hex was a complete and utter asshole. I honestly didn’t find anything about him redeeming.
I didn’t like how he or his club treated women.
I didn’t like how he treated Skip specifically.
And I didn’t like how he treated his so called ‘brothers’ either.

Then the plot. Uh. Where the fuck was it?
We spent a good 75% of the book with zero things happening and Hex completely pissed that Skip was even in his town. And then suddenly he was all over her, no apologies, no explanations, nothing. Just taking her to the club, claiming her, and that’s that.
Things just fucking end after they have a bullshit conversation off page.
Then there’s a shitty summary style epilogue.
And I can’t even say that the sex made up for all of that bullshit, because there were only two sex scenes and they were nothing special at all.
The whole time, Skip is wondering why the hell she never got to see her dad again, and the only explanation she gets is from her biased mother who hated Brewer and the life he chose.
She never even had a conversation telling Hex why she never came back.
Which. Also. Hello?? How hard would it be to find the town you grew up in and just go to it when you were old enough. What the hell did she mean, she tried to ‘find’ Brewer, but ‘couldn’t’? That shit makes zero sense.

Plus there was the way the side characters treated women. Just as bad as Hex.
So not cool.

And another thing. What the fuck was with all the missing ‘h’s and and shit. Who the hell writes like that? It was annoying, to say the least.
This author just really, really tried SO hard to make these characters ‘badasses’🙄😑 They left the bad behind and were just plain asses, though.

*groan*
No.
Just no.
Not now.
Not ever.
I’m so pissed I kept reading this book, thinking it’d get better and make up for all the shit I hated.
I should’ve listened to my instincts at 13% in and DNFd it immediately.

I just wanted to share how much I liked this book! I had never read a book about a MC before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Well I couldn't put it down. I had to leave it home otherwise I would have read it all day at work. I can even say that I read it by lantern when we lost power. I hope to learn more about Hex's past and about Hex and Skips relationship. I will be getting my name on the pre-order list for her next book as well.

What a great new author! Oh and bonus...I got to meet the author! Super nice and down to earth! Wishing her the best of luck on her future books!

68% in and absolutely nothing has happened. I liked the meeting of the MC’s but then… nothing. Barely any interaction between the H and h. It’s not slow burn if they’re not even talking to each other, there has to be some development.

h says she doesn’t remember going to the clubhouse but remembers everything about the house etc. Lived in NYC but isn’t very street smart. Her abuse background should leave her hyper vigilant.

Dropping this one because I’m bored but I’m still interested in other books by this author to see if the storytelling smoothed out because the potential is there.

4.75 stars. Excellent first book in the Iron Aces MC series. Hex’s character was well done. Enough details about side characters to pique interest in future books, but no so much that it detracted from Hex and Skip’s story.

I didn’t really like Kit leaving Skip on her own at the bar and felt Skip was unrealistically naive when it came to her own safety (considering her past). Other than that, an enjoyable read.

Great read!

I have to say I was intrigued after the first page. The way Skip was introduced. The small nuances of what she'd been through.
Her thoughts at the bar, wow! Great story and characters.
Just pre-ordered the next book!

Was good.

I really enjoyed this book. Both characters were awesome to a 4 1/2 ⭐ level, had a small misplaced name nothing to bad. But the epilogue not I liked in my opinion, hence the 41/2 ⭐.

I enjoyed the book! However, the 1st half was so drawn out, while the 2nd half wrapped up really quick. This left me unsatisfied, because I wish we seen Skip and Hex more as a couple.

Hex was a complete asshole, but in the best possible way when he finally admits his feelings for Skip. Loved the slow burn.
I felt like the ending was rushed and it definitely could of gone into more detail and not feel like their story wasn’t finished. I still have so many questions about it all
