Things I liked:
-sci fi fantasy blend (dragons in space!)
-science that didn't read like an early episode of Star Trek techno-babble
-strong, motivated characters
-characters that made mistakes
-very much a "light in the darkness" type of story

Things I didn't like:
-I recall starting my first read of the series immediately after the Raising Dragons series, and the characters were similar enough to blur together; not as bad when there's a gap between reads

BEST BOOKS EVER!!!!!! these mixed the fun, excitement, and suspense of fantasy with the power of faith in Christ. i loved how the author added in the conflict of the main character in deciding what he wanted to believe by the testimony of his new best friend. these were some of the most powerful books i have ever read. definite rereads.

A wonderful, long, Christian series. They're not ALL based on God, so if you aren't religious you can still read them, but it helps to know a little bit about that stuff.
