Gina Marie Long is an author of paranormal thrillers, urban fantasy, and young adult novels... with a dash of romance. She has written the Unknown Touch-Werewolf Series, Rocked–The Chelsie Valdar Saga, and The Reaper's Cat.

Gina's fiction stories are inspired from her interest in the supernatural, science fiction and fantasy world. She enjoys reading, watching evening TV shows, movies and listening to music. Writing indulges her passion for the entertainment arts, giving her active mind a playground of possibilities to explore. She stays active on social media sites and blogging, making connections with others who share the same interests.

She writes about werewolves, vampires, witches, werecats, Bigfoot, an occasional demon, psychics, Vikings, and riveting human characters. But not ALL in the same book! In addition, a light romance is included to spice things up (come on-every book, movie and TV show has some sort of a love story in it). The books do not fall under the romance category...just enough in the storyline to satisfy the "girls". And the "guys" can breathe easy knowing they're not reading a romance novel but a paranormal thriller, instead. Depending on which series, the ages of the main characters are 16 through 30.

"It's exciting to create strong characters that the readers fall in love with…or want to strangle! Writing books about other beings, such as werewolves and vampires, allows rules to be broken concerning life and the world as we know it. The idea to have these supernatural species living and breathing among us is so wickedly intriguing. Having close contact with them, developing relationships, and dealing with the good vs. the evil - it sweeps you away into another reality – an escape from real life. You wonder and worry about what the characters will stumble upon next. Or, what horrific tragedy knocks them flat on their faces."~~Gina

She lives in Highland, Illinois, with her husband and Jessie Cat.

I'm usually not a fan of werewolf books, but I really, really liked this book! The relationship between Kara and Daniel was cute, and I LOVED the ending! I think the love triangle was a little unnecessary, but overall I really enjoyed this book.

This was an interesting story and different than a lot of the werewolf books out there. It was a lot about telepathy, and the main character, Kara, is a very strong telepath. I would consider this book YA although the characters are not teens (Kara turns 21 in the story) so perhaps it would not fit into that category. It would be appropriate for teens and reads like a YA book to me.

Kara, not realizing her special skills, is involved in a one car accident at night and finds herself "kidnapped" by a group led by a scientist named Eli and made up of an ex CIA Agent, an ex FBI agent, a talented telepath named Dom and several others. She is totally blown away to find out that she herself has great telepathic abilities, and she and Dom can communicate easily without words. She also has been having dreams of "speaking" to Daniel, someone she does not know. She learns that this group is secretly involved in helping supernaturals to blend in with humans, and there is a serious problem with a werewolf pack in Kentucky. A troublemaker has split off taking several others with him and there has been a murder and domestic animal killings in the area. Daniel, who has had telepathic contact with Kara in her dreams is the leader of the original pack and she had came in indirect contact with him while on a vacation which triggered the telepathic connection.

The book is about Kara's learning curve to use her talents, about the experiences when the group combines with Daniel's pack at his vacation resort and their fight to save Stephen, the rogue werewolf before he completely turns to the dark side.

There is a love triangle of sorts between Kara, Dom, and Daniel although it never is a serious choice. For me the book was a little too simplistic with a bit too much time spent with Kara being in everyone's minds. She instantly becomes an expert on working with the emotions of others and although this obviously is fiction to the max, it just had a lot of things that just were too smooth and predictable. It was a good story idea but the characters were perhaps just a little bit all too much the same and all too bland - if that makes sense. I realize this is this author's first book, and it certainly is not bad storytelling. Love the cover!

To miało taki potencjał...
