Will the 236 year American experiment in democracy survive the 2024 presidential election?
Political extremists on both the Left and Right threaten to tear our nation asunder. Can our democratic institutions hold? In this action-packed thriller, novice FBI agent Marla Devereaux, a liberal woman-of-color, and former NYPD Detective David Flynn, a conservative Republican, are tasked with hunting down the shadowy conspirators behind a plot to subvert the 2024 election. But like our country, they must first overcome their own political and personal differences if they are to unite and save our democracy. The year is 2024. Donald Trump, embroiled in a sea of legal woes, is forced to withdraw from the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. His chosen successor, self-made Texas oil billionaire Robert Lutz, is the surprise nominee. The Democrats also choose a relative unknown, Ohio Congresswoman Katie Crandall. Polls show the election will be a toss-up. Bad actors across the political spectrum will stop at nothing to ensure their candidate’s victory. There is no more middle ground. Both sides believe the Republic’s survival rides on the outcome of the 2024 election. Those on the Left fear that if the Republicans’ unfounded claims of fraud and tactics of voter suppression win the day, it will spell the end of democracy. The Right is certain that if Democrats prevail, America will turn its back on all the values that made it great and devolve into a godless nation of degenerate socialists.“E Pluribus Unum” has given way to “them or us” and political hatred has reached a level not seen since the Civil War. Can the United States remain united? 2024 is more than an action-packed thriller that will raise the blood-pressure of readers. This story is also a cautionary tale, showing how political extremism can quickly overwhelm our country and destroy our democracy.
This book is meant for people deeply interested in politics; I don´t have any doubt about that. 2024 is a fiction novel, but like most of the books I've read about politics, it's hardly ever fiction. Keith Thompson warns the reader about what will happen in American society if the extremist (of any party) succeeds and damage our precious democracy.
The novel follows the story of Marla and David, an FBI agent and an NYPD Detective that are assigned to the difficult task of finding and stopping a conspiracy to sabotage the 2024 elections. Putting aside their differences and focusing on what's best for their country, they will embark on a hard and dangerous mission.
Overall, this book was a rollercoaster of emotions for me. Definitely recommended for people who enjoy politics, and are not afraid to submerge in that unpleasant world.
The entertainment value of this novel is out of this world.
Although it is a fictional novel, 2024 feels like this is what is currently happening with American politics. The story is about politics and conspiracies, drugs, corruption and a lot more. A liberal and a republican tasked to guard the upcoming 2024 elections. It is action packed and filled with humour that everyone who has watched the presidential debates would know. It is a political issue buff would really appreciate. The reason why I think this is clearly a fiction is because I believe that Donald Trump would choose Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as his successor, not “Robert Lutz”. It is a quick and entertaining read. It would really be interesting that some of the parts of the book would come true in the next year or two.
2024 A Novel was written by Keith Thompson, a very interesting author. The book features a political war in the US in 2024. Trump being forced to withdraw, chooses a successor, an oil-billionaire, so do the democrats. Both sides are in an extreme political war where neither is ready to give up and will do it all to make sure their party wins. It’s an action-packed thriller featuring two interesting characters that are complete opposites, an FBI agent who’s a liberal woman-of-colour and an NYPD detective a conservative republican. It’s an interesting plot set with various personal and external road-blocks for both characters, they must learn to be able to first deal with each other and then deal with the massive problem at hand.
2024 is a novel where the economic and political balance in North America seems to be on the verge of a tsunami. Two FBI Agents were forced to work together as they each support different political views, to follow and prevent a big threat to America's Democracy.
The book in general was catching and entertaining. It is clear the appeal that an espionage and apocalyptic storyline can have on the reader, which I felt under its spell of course. The writing was also patriotic so I would recommend you this book if you're a true nationalist.
Truly, it is a book that you can read in 3 days because of its nonstop cliff-hangers and quite frankly an important component of an espionage novel. All in all, the story was fast-paced and I was hooked on from the first chapter. Would recommend!
2024 by Keith Thompson is a thrilling and action-packed political fiction The alluring protagonists of this novel are the novice FBI agent Marla Devereaux, a liberal woman-of-color, and the former NYPD Detective David Flynn, a conservative Republican. As imagined, they are very different in their own ways, so they should get over their political and personal differences to work together in the hunt of the conspirators behind a plot to subvert the 2024 election. Both the characterization and the plot are very good. In a context convulsed politically by extremism, the author wittily balances the personalities and actions of the protagonists in defence of the democracy. He masterfully handles contrasts and chiaroscuro of the story. All in all, a good reading.
I liked this book very much, although I strongly believe it could have been shorter and interesting anyway. All in all, I recommend it since I enjoyed several things from it. First of all, the realism in the scenarios is great, despite the fact that it’s a story set in a nearest future. This is an essential point in the narrative as the readers can easily place themselves alongside the characters. Secondly, it’s an action-packed and fast-paced story which made me feel anxious more than once, in the best possible way, and wanting to know the conclusion of the novel. Finally, the blend of research and narrative create an irresistible story. As an experienced thriller reader, I found this title to be incredibly satisfying.
Author Keith Thompson has woven a provocative story that is set up in the future, in 2024 to be specific. He merges high-level prose with powerful sequences of events related to politics. The literary style used is very of the author’s own and he seems to have an extraordinary gift with words and definitely knows how to use them. Watching how the story unfolded was really a treat to my eyes since the storyline presents an impeccable foundation in what looked like a promising book right from the very first page. The characterization has been put together in an excellent way, especially the character of Donald Trump. Oh, wow, I loved the fact that he is present in this tale. He gives the narrative a touch of irony much needed to keep readers entertained.
An enthralling I found “2024 A novel” compelling and very interesting. Keith Thomson has penned an action-packed thriller with lots of turns and twists. The story revolves around Maria Devereaux, a liberal woman-of-colour who works as an agent in the FBI. She has a difficult and complicated task to fulfil at her work: she must uncover a group of anarchists that is trying to act against the 2024 election. What an intertwined and intriguing plot! The characters are well-portrayed and their dialogues make the situations quite vivid. It's full of secrets, betrayals and unexpected situations; I was glued to the pages the moment I started reading and I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know more. I liked it and I recommend it.
"2024 a Novel" is set in the year 2024, when Trump is forced to withdraw from the race for the Republican nomination for president in the face of legal trouble.
The plot of this novel is action-packed and suspenseful. It's a thriller that doesn't let up, with a constant pace that manages to create an atmosphere full of tension and unexpected situations.
Furthermore, the author was able to create spectacular characters, which you should discover for yourself. Keith Thompson makes you believe them, whether they are main or secondary.
This book contains all of the necessary ingredients to keep the reader captivated at all times. It was very interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
We are introduced to NYPD Detective First Grade David Flynn on a stakeout. He is on the hunt for Z-Man and things start to heat up quickly. This book is action packed from the very beginning. The agenda of Liberal FBI agent Marla Devereaux and conservative Republican Detective David Flynn is to figure out the recent threats against the election. Set in 2024 of course, there is a great dose of humor throughout the book and politics is favored greatly. I really enjoyed Keith Thompson’s writing style and I hope to read more from him soon. Definitely check this out if you are into political drama!
Just by looking at the cover of this book I knew it would be a good, or at least entertaining, reading. 2024 A Novel is a middle-length story set in the near future around presidential elections. There’s great political content in this novel so I recommend it to everyone interested in politics, otherwise, it won’t be so appealing. This thriller is action-packed and has well-rounded characters who was easy to empathize with. The setting, the description of scenes, and the description of the characters was very well done and I think this is what I most highlight from the novel. A must-read, without any doubts!
While this is a work of fiction, the book reads like a possible true crime story cantered on a polarized 2024 presidential election in the United States of America. When FBI agents Marla Devereaux and David Flynn are tasked to uncover a plot to steal the upcoming elections, their political and personal differences lead them into multiple contentious situations while they must work together to save democracy. Everything in their lives and their fight for free and fair elections is turned upside down as the drama escalates. This page turner is pure political suspense reminiscent of the last election in the United States that forces the reader to appreciate the fragility of democracy.
This was a great book. It is a realistic fictional story that correctly portrays the circumstances and situations taking place in the world today. There was turmoil in the story caused by the pandemic, authoritative negligence and crime. Authorities ignoring evidence coupled with media ensuring that certain things don’t make prime time. The promise of a better America was under attack from a corrupt political party that wants to dictate and perpetuate their wealth and power rather than providing for the needs and wants of the people. A recommended read.
I'm not one for political novels, but this one has an attention grabber right from the prologue. It's an interesting take on what the next elections could turn into. The About the Author page is hilarious, truly an all encompassing wrap up to such an intriguing story.
WOW! This book reads like real life current political events. It’s an election year 2024 and the never-ending cry of voter fraud is in the headlines. Only this time there is actual proof of the fraud! Far-left extremist groups appear to be behind the fraudulent manipulation of voting machines in two important swing states, Ohio and Georgia. On top of the election fraud is also an attempted assassination of a presidential candidate and the kidnapping of an FBI agent. FBI agents are on the case and what they uncover is a web of suspicions involving the Secret Service, Far-Left and Far-Right extremist groups, Christian extremist groups, politicians and Russian spies. In a world where the truth no longer matters, and those that reject the truth over the lies because the lies better suit them, who is ultimately to blame for the election fraud?
2024 takes you reminiscing journey through the chaos of the past several years of the political circus that is United States government. True life now reads like a made-up novel. Thompson weaves true history from recent US politics into a hypothetical scenario for future elections. Will Americans grow weary of the constant negativity, conspiracy theories and the inability for Republicans and Democrats to work together and just stop voting all together or will the American spirit prevail and we fight for democracy? That is the ultimate question this book seems to ask. The pace of story was engaging and it was well written. I’d look forward to reading other works by Thompson, but after reading this, I do not look forward to the next election!
2024 A novel was written by Keith Thompson. The book takes place in 2024 when Trump is compelled to resign as president. Both the democratic and republican parties present two fresh, virtually unheard-of candidates. However, there were numerous allegations of electoral fraud and corruption during the 2024 elections, which Nancy Cassini, head of the Public Corruption Unit, county deputy detective David Flynn, and Marla Devereaux would investigate. Both investigators had differing views but will put their differences aside to come to the bottom of the corruption allegations.
Thompson uses a straightforward journalistic writing style. His plot is strong and has just enough turns and surprises to keep readers interested. The vivid characters are so ludicrous that the scenarios could be real. The setting for this political story is intriguing, the plot is plausible, and the protagonists are forced to deal with a situation that could have been taken directly out of the news. For those who enjoy a classic thriller with gripping chase sequences and intrigue based on current social, political, and cultural tensions, "2024 A Novel" is recommended. The language employed is primarily made up of thrilling, frantic discussions and is engaging without using a lot of political jargon. The focus is mainly on the campaign's chess moves and logic, diverging from the characters' inner anguish in the storytelling techniques.
A compelling and entertaining book! This plot is exciting ; it has lots of convoluted twsts, but the author got me to suspend my disbelief enough that I was able to swallow all of them. The characters are believable and (some of them) even likable. I loved Flynn's occasional wry humorous remark, for example. The author does not paint one side of the political specrum or the other as "bad guys". There is interesting exploration of election procedures and tech tools like Stingray. There is also a thoughtful message for our country. Nonetheless, my five-star rating is a bit reluctant because of some annoyances. There seems to be sexism in the writing in that every female character has to be involved in significant sexual encounter. How about making some of the characters who do not have sex in the book female? Also, the book was a very annoying read physically. The layout was very bad, with inappropriate new paragraphs begun in the middle of a sentence, conversations where different speakers' contributions were NOT put into a new paragraph, etc. Finally, the level of the graphic violence was a bit too high for my comfort. Despite the flaws, though, I highly recommend it.
2024 A Novel by Keith Thompson is a political action thriller bound to make it an entertaining read. FBI agent Marla Devereaux and former NYPD detective David Flynn are thrown together in a team to hunt down conspirators plotting to subvert the 2024 elections. But to do so they need to overcome their own political and personal differences. With American pulled and torn between two sides of Democrats and Republicans and threat looms at close, David and Marla are amid total chaos. As enjoyable and amazing the storyline is, it is also a sad realization how close it is to reality. The author has done an outstanding job with the entire scenario of the messed up political situation. The characters are well developed, and the humor is brilliant which gives the plot an overall shine. I enjoyed my time from start to finish and it just makes you ponder on the ground realities of today's turbulent times. I highly recommend this read.
Reading this novel, I asked myself – is this fact or fiction? Entertainment, or a frightening vision of the future? This political thriller by Keith Thompson is set a mere 2 years in the future, with real-life figures that readers will be very familiar with (Donald Trump, Biden, and others are mentioned), and less well-known characters, like Robert Luz, a real-life businessman who is the 2024 Republican presidential nominee in the novel. FOX news, NBC, CBS, and more all appear, highlighting the crucial role media plays in American politics. Part political thriller, part conspiracy novel, this book takes the reader on a thrilling ride through the world of American politics, paints a sometimes frightening picture of what could still come, and highlights the fact that, as Lincoln famously said, “a house divided against itself shall not stand”.
2024 A Novel by Keith Thompson is an action-packed thriller that tells the story of an election in the USA in the near future. The plot is quite interesting. It is set in 2024 when Trump is forced to withdraw from his position as president. There are two new candidates presented, who are relatively unknown, from both the republican and democratic side. Along this, an FBI agent and a NYPD detective appear in the scene, they are from the opposite political spectrum. These two interesting characters learn how to deal with their differences and work together to deal with the threat at hand. In this novel, I could clearly see the division in today’s world. I have to say that in many aspects of this book, it is extremely accurate taking into consideration nowadays events worldwide. 100% recommendable.

It’s a story with two interesting characters and it’s thrilling to see how they both learn to deal with their differences and learn to work together to deal with the threat at hand. It’s a story that shows how divided the world is, in many ways it's extremely accurate to life as it is today and it’s sad. It’s a very good book that shows us how humanity is not doing the best.
2024 by Keith Thompson is an action thriller serving as a political extremist cautionary tale. The story occurs in 2024, on the brink of the next American election. This story’s setting is in a realistic near-future, with political figures we know could actually be in the race. This makes reactions that much more realistic, and terrifying too. David and Marla, two federal agents, are tasked with making sure the election occurs without turmoil. However, it seems impossible to make the left and right see eye to eye when put in the hands of David and Marla, a conservative and liberal, respectively. In the end, it seemed like it would turn into war for the republic rather than war or a republic, and I enjoyed how realism and tension intermingled.
2024 A Novel is a middle length story which was written by Keith Thompson. The author created a very thrilling action packed story with characters which were well developed. The setting was well created; I liked it a lot because it added a lot to the story. Moreover, there is a good balance between dialogues and narrative, which gives the story the right pace, not too slow or too fast. I recommend reading it if you like suspense, action, political novels and a well developed plot. The ending was very well created and I was surprised on more than one occasion. I will undoubtedly read any other book by this author because his narrative is exquisite
2024 a novel is a good political thriller which undoubtedly entertained me from the very first pages. The author is creative enough to make this entertaining plot with believable characters which have real life like dialogues. Although this tale is set in the future, it is the near future so the reader can empathise with the situation that’s going on in these elections and all which goes around them.
The narrative style of author Thompson is very good and captivated me, which pushed me to read page after page without noticing. I am absolutely going to recommend reading this novel! A must read!
Keith Thompson delivers a political novel that may actually be closer to reality than what we would like to believe. In 2024 A Novel, an FBI novice and an NYPD detective, from both ends of the political spectrum have to team up to find out who are the conspirators that are making plans to make an electoral fraud. In a time where people are more and more buried in their own set of beliefs and refusing to find a middle ground, democracy feels much more endangered than at any other time in history. It does bring back very recent episodes in American history and the author uses that similarity to his advantage. The writing has some humor and cheeky remarks and it’s packed with action.
Keith Thompson is the author of "2024 A Novel", a Political fiction where action is the main genre of the book. FBI rookie agent Marla Devereaux and former New York Police Department detective David Flynn are tasked with hunting down the shadowy conspirators behind a plot to subvert the 2024 election. Personally, I don't really like political fiction, but a friend recommended this to me, so I decided to give it a try, and I must admit that I was surprised. I really liked the author's writing style; without a doubt he has a great talent for storytelling. I highly recommend this political fiction novel to all lovers of the genre.
If you are into political novels, then this is the book you’re looking for. 2024 A Novel, written by Keith Thompson, is a book set in the near future while presidential elections are taking place. The whole story is really captivating because, although it is fiction and set in the future, many of the events sound quite real to our life now. The author excels in character portrayal and development. I liked that the most in the book. Moreover, there are quite a lot of good descriptions which helped me picture in my mind what was happening. Dialogues were well created and added an enjoyable touch to the story. I recommend reading 2024 A Novel because I liked it very much!
2024 is a compelling novel that mixes politics, action and thrilling events to capture readers' undivided attention. It’s 2024 and a new election is about to happen in the USA. The Right and the Left parties are becoming more and more extreme in their convictions and actions, and this is becoming a menace to democracy. The protagonists of this book, an FBI agent and a detective, are given the task to investigate and find the people who are conspiring to undermine the political system of the country. Will Marla and David be able to solve their differences and stop criminals before it’s too late? I loved this thriller full of action and I recommend it.
The author, Keith Thompson, describes his own novel named 2024 as a good thriller and an advert, I couldn't agree with him more. This book develops in the very near future, in the USA, where the next elections are looming and democracy will be in danger. It is not only an action book, with many adventures and missions that will put the protagonists at risk, but it also has a great political charge that is also represented by the protagonists. Politics, action, elections, corruption. This book is priceless! Moreover, I think it can be a "delicate" reading for people who are political extremists, or it could be a point of reflection. I liked this novel.
