Fifteen years ago, Bryce Keating and Cameron Shapiro met for the first time on the worst blind date of their lives. They ended the night hoping to never see each other again and went their separate ways.
Unfortunately for Bryce and Cameron, fate had other plans.
Over a decade later, the two women randomly run into one another. It’s disastrous and stirs up mixed feelings for them both. But the harder they try to avoid each other, the more chance encounters they have.
Bryce and Cameron have undeniable chemistry and a lot more in common than they think. Only neither of them will ever know that unless they allow themselves to get out of their own way.
Can these women forgive the past and see their potential for a great romance, or will pride and resentment keep them apart forever?
Lasting Impressions is a push and pull, second chance romance full of wit, steam, and a dash of angst.
Michele L. Rivera is a Massachusetts native who has been writing lesbian romance since 2013. It all started with the release of her first book, “Taking the Lead,” which is a fictional story loosely based on her own coming out experience.
Through her writing, Michele strives to share her strong personal beliefs that love is love and that happily ever afters do exist.
When she’s not writing love stories or poetry, she enjoys cuddling with her adorable cats, sipping on whiskey, watching movies, and searching for artistic inspiration within the human experience.
I absolutely love this book! How their first date went disastrously but they couldn't forget one another for 15 years, just shows the attraction they had. You'll fall in love with Bryce and Cameron as easily as I did! You'll also fall in love with Camerons' mother! Oh heck, you'll fall in love with this book! 5 stars!!
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The storyline was filled with some drama between the main characters and the suspense of will they or won’t they ever get together was well written and kept this reader wondering, of course I figured they would eventually have to get together they had to much going for them, but the journey was bumpy and enjoyable even if slightly stressful. I would highly recommend this book to anyone for a future reading. Want to read more by this author.
Cameron and Bryce were great but I have to be honest, Camerons mom was my favorite. I loved her so much and I don’t usually feel one way or another towards background characters. The story was so good and I loved seeing both Cam and Bryce grow together.
I truly enjoyed getting to know Bryce and Cam as their lives became more intertwined. Once again, Michele Rivera really gave her characters a depth of emotional connection as fear and quirks kept them apart. The writing is also just descriptive enough to paint the scenes without overdoing it. I felt like I could relate to these "real" people and see the story unfold. I loved this book and look forward to reading whatever she writes next.
A great storyline that shows that we all have insecurities that sometimes hinders us from being brave. Fear is a great hurdle that keeps us from being happy. It takes great strength and courage to make that leap towards a HEA.
Michele is one of my favourite writers. This book did not disappoint. The two main characters are ones you wish were your friends. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that asks.
An overall lovely book sadly marred by the use of some miscommunication tropes it ultimately didn't need to tell a satisfying story. The characters are wonderful, and their chemistry is a delight.
So I bought this book to bring on a recent trip to Hawaii…long flights demand a fun page turner, and I wasn’t disappointed. A delightful beach/vacation read for sure, however Lasting Impressions is more than that…Rivera captures the complicated back and forth of so many real-life lesbian romances…the sweetness, the stubbornness, and yes, the steamy romance are all handled so accurately. (It’s almost as if the author is a lesbian herself) ;) I was fascinated by not only the main characters, but by the development of secondary characters as well…friends and family were so vividly presented that I felt I knew them! Funny at times, sexy at others, and touching often, this book had me rooting for the two main characters throughout! Five stars!
Cameron runs into Bryce, who she has not forgiven for their blind date from hell. It was a memory she cannot forget because that’s how bad the date was. The trouble is that Bryce sees her 15 years later.
The chemistry was off the charts. I mean you could just tell that they were taken with one another from the very beginning, even the first night they met.
It was nice to see both characters be vulnerable and express their concerns and issues that they have going on in both of their lives with personal family, work and insecurities. I feel like they were very open and honest and they were able to communicate.
Cameron moved to help her parents and I love the way she takes care of them. Deep down she was a sweetheart. Bryce was a sweet soul. It was just what Cameron needed.
I was very impressed with the book it had me from page , the author did a wonderful job pulling everything together. This is the first book by the author and definitely will not be the last.I highly recommend 5 stars for this book.
A blind date that goes really badly, and yet, 15 years later, both Bryce and Cameron have left a significant impact on each other, and when they meet again, things do not go well. However, it seems that fate has a plan of its own, and there is most definitely an undeniable chemistry.
Absolutely loved this story. Both woman are strong, hard-headed at times, with issues of their own, and yet there is something special about them that draws you in in spite of the mistakes that they make. There is definitely that spark and whole lot more between them, and seeing them interact, work through their issues, and reach for what they want is really heart warming. It is a well written and easy read, highly engaging, and enjoyable. There is a decent amount of angst in the story (they can both be really stupid at times), and yet it doesn't linger too long, with others there to support them and push them in the right direction. And the epilogue-style chapters were really sweet too.
It's been a while I read one of her books and this title just drew me in, so I interrupted everything and just read it in one go, which already sais a lot about it. I'd almost forgotten how good Michele's writing is. This is a deeply touching tale about how deeply one can hurt someone involuntarily, if we are not aware of our mindset and emotional problems, especially when young and insecure. With the help of their best friends both Cameron and Bryce manage finally, 15 years later, to discover who they are and what they truly want. The narrative goes really down to the roots and touched me deeply, even though I have been a counsellour for mor than 17 years of my life and thought I'd seen and heard it all.
So for what? The first quarter? I was kind of wondering why I was still reading this, lol. Bryce and Cameron seemed so inexplicably angry with each other, it should have been painful to read. Yet somehow, I just couldn’t put it down? I guess it must have been obvious there was more to the two of them, and somehow enough of that shined through to pull me in instead of pushing me away, even if I couldn’t put my finger on it at the time.
Well then, they got brave and sweet and slowly — oh so slowly at times — got out of their own way. When Cameron says “Now, it’s my turn to do that for her”? OMG. With a little help from Mom and Tripp and so on, of course, but still. When push came to shove, they came through for each other, and it was wonderful to see.
Ms Rivers is an author I really rate but this didn’t work as well for me as some of her others. Bryce and Cam are both immediately attracted but just don’t get on. And when they meet again 15 years later, the attraction and animosity still lingers. They act on their mutual attraction and then decide to try to be friends. But they seem to have very little interaction before they’re falling in love. That blossoming of the warm and fuzzies just didn’t work for me. It’s all very cute with a HEA but they’re just not the most believable couple. So, nice enough I guess, but the author has done better.

This was on my TBR list for far to long! You need to need to read it and you need to do it now. It’s such an entertaining read, great dialogue between the characters and sub-characters. I wish I was as half as articulate as the author!
This was my first book from this author and won't be my last. I really enjoyed the storyline, the dialogue, and her characters so much! Super engaged from the very beginning to the end. Would recommend anyone looking for a fun and romantic read!
This is the first book I've read by the author, and wow, am I impressed! Excellent writing, engaging characters, and an original plot. Emotional depth and moments of humor. I enjoyed this book all the way through. Gonna be reading more by this author!
