This collection holds some of my favorite Christmas novellas that I have read. I love the way we get to know these sisters and their love interests, both in the present as well as the past. It really made me feel like I knew the characters well.
This & Every Christmas
The author found such a cute and creative way to tell Noah and Clari’s story. Each chapter began with a flashback to different years when they were younger and would see each other or interact with each other at the Christmas tree farm that Noah’s family owned. Sometimes the reader would see the meeting through Noah’s eyes and sometimes through Clari’s. Then, the rest of the chapter would be the present day story when Noah and Clari reconnected after many years of not seeing each other.
The past story included brief glimpses into what was going on in the characters’ lives through the years and felt so sweet and realistic. The modern day friendship that bloomed into romance was sigh worthy indeed. Clari had experienced so many disappointments in relationships in the past and it was clear that she was afraid to even hope that things would work out with Noah. And Noah had been through a lot of hurt and loss in the past few years. But they were so good together and both of them were characters that I connected with immediately. Noah’s daughter and Clari’s family were also important additions to the novel and added to the book’s focus on the importance of family. There was also a solid faith message that flowed through the story in a natural way.
Now & Forever Christmas
Once again, just like in the first book, I loved the way the author took me on a journey through the past to show me the friendship and relationship that grew between CJ and Tobin. Each chapter featured a portion from the past and a portion from the present and the chapters alternated between the viewpoints of both characters. The way these two books were crafted made me feel like I really knew Tobin and CJ and the returning characters from book one.
It was clear that Tobin and CJ truly cared for each other all of these years, even as they faced some situations that pulled them apart. This book was wonderfully uplifting, yet still delved into the topic of emotional abuse, something that CJ dealt with at one point in her life. Her journey to reconnect with her family and Tobin and work on her emotional and spiritual healing was beautiful. If you haven’t read the first book in the series, you can still read and enjoy this one, however, I highly recommend both of these books! They are both so good!
Not Another Christmas
Not Another Christmas gave me all the happy and swoony feels! In this book, it is the third Sinclair sister’s turn to find her happily ever after and this story is as charming and heartfelt as the two before it. If you haven’t read the other two books from the Sinclair Sisters series, I highly recommend them. You can also just jump in and enjoy this one, as well, if you prefer.
In these stories, I absolutely adore the way the author takes the reader back and forth between the past and present. It just works so well for showing the passage of time in the past and for bringing things to fruition for the characters in the present day.
I really felt for Nick and all that he went through as a teen. His home life left a lot to be desired and it was clear that he was hurting emotionally. I had gotten to know Cindy through the first two books, but it was fun to see things from her perspective in this final tale. Her reactions to Nick’s attempts to tease her through pranks just escalated things so much! There were cringy moments and hilarious moments from the past, but what I most loved was watching as things began to move in a more romantic direction in the present day. It was great seeing Cindy and Nick actually getting to know each other.
I loved this story from start to finish and highly recommend all three of the Sinclair Sisters stories.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
