TRANSFORMING ORGASMS: with Psychedelics, Cannabis & Science

Rate this book
Featuring 75+ peer-reviewed studies, TRANSFORMING ORGASMS with Psychedelics, Cannabis & Science takes an anthropological look at our relationship with psychoactive plants and fungi. Adjacent to the Stoned Ape Theory, the authors present a new sex-based hypothesis for the coevolution between humans and psychoactive plants and fungi. Did humans evolve natural mating rituals that incorporate music and intoxicating substances? Did sexual experiences on psychedelic mushrooms inspire the invention of music?

"I didn’t know how much I needed this book before I picked it up."

"... an easy and enjoyable read. The language is simple and to the point, without unnecessary fluff. It is crucial to mention how aesthetically appealing the pages are. "

"... this book is a learner's paradise for all!"

"It's gorgeous and chockful of such great information - and it's soooo gorgeously formatted."

To advance the science further, the authors have developed a journaling system to collect and structure the relevant data from sexual experiences involving cannabis and psychedelics. This can serve as a tool for sex therapists, couples counselors, psychedelic guides, academic researchers, and citizen scientists to pursue this line of study further. The system is designed to help people to improve their interoception by methodically testing what works best for them. Using biometric sensors like heart rate monitoring watches and smart vibrators, the journaling system adapts and integrates several independent models that are already established tools utilized in their respective fields. Specifically, the system uses the Dual Control model for structuring data related to sexual arousal, and the Set & Setting model for structuring data regarding cannabis and psychedelic experiences. It uses the Rhythmic Entrainment model for structuring data relating to trance-like states.

Nathaniel and Emily Morris have a combined 30+ years as thought leaders in the cannabis and psychedelic spaces. Nathaniel's work with cannabis and rare psychedelic plants has been profiled on The Discovery Channel, Medical Jane, High Times, Third Wave, Microdose-Psychedelic Insights, MSNBC, PBS, and more.

After beginning her work in the cannabis industry in 2010, Emily was recognized as Miss High Times 2012 by High Times Magazine, where she had the opportunity to immerse herself in different cannabis cultures around the world. Over the last decade, she has had experience within both the legacy and legal cannabis markets, along with skills in cultivation and education. Emily is currently working as a cannabis subject matter expert at one of the largest cannabis companies in Canada.

The two were early pioneers in the study of rare cannabinoids and were among the first to popularize the use of CBD to treat pediatric epilepsy. They have been trailblazers in the use of biometric sensors to study the lesser-known phytochemicals found in cannabis and peyote.
