Omega Atlas Payne never imagined he’d be at The Auction being ogled by rich alphas. He had bigger plans for his life that didn’t include being an incubator to some alpha’s offspring. But when his father disgraces his family name, it’s either sell himself to the highest bidder or starvation.
Alpha Dante Stone is still grieving the loss of his omega a decade later. He has zero interest in taking a new omega. Still, he’s inexplicably drawn to the young omega who seems completely out of place at The Auction. When it looks as if the nastiest alpha at The Auction is about to win Atlas, something inside Dante snaps, and he buys Atlas himself.
But once he has Atlas in his home, he has no idea what to do with him. He craves Atlas but is too guilt-ridden to give either of them what they instinctively want.
The premise of this book sounded great, and things were off to a great start. However, once Atlas arrived to Dante's home, things quickly derailed and never got quick back on the tracks for me.
Dante is mourning the death of his omega, the love of his life, and is dead set to make everyone else miserable. Atlas - and probably readers, too - will be shocked to find out that Lukas, Dante's omega, has been dead for just over a decade, and Dante is still refusing to move on despite just being in his late 30's with plenty of life to experience and live. I had sympathy for him at first, but I quickly lost any compassion I had for him as he continued to treat Atlas horribly. And then his final 180 personality change felt too little, too late, and not genuine, after all the hurtful things he told Atlas. It's literally the "I can change, I can do it" mentality of an addict.
Simply put - Dante is not deserving of such a wonderful, sweet man that is Atlas. The shit he says and the way he treats Atlas is degrading, not romantic, and is over the top mean. In fact, nearly everyone employed at Dante's home is a bit miserable and suspect in character, like who would want to live at a home where the head housekeeper is a bitch, the stable-man is making a pass at you, and the chauffeur freakin' tases you.
Atlas does what he can, but there is SO MUCH push/pull - Dante wants him, then casts him aside. Says one good thing, then takes it back, that it's no wonder Atlas feels the way he does.
Atlas deserves a better mate, yeah I said it.
I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Where do I even begin with this book. If anything it teaches us that in reality it’s hard for younger folks to fall in love with older folks because older folks just come with too much baggage.
Atlas is a young 22 year old omega who had to auction himself so he wouldn’t end up homeless. He lost everything and he ends up being bought by Dante. Atlas is a young virgin who has never even had his first kiss nor relationship. He’s naive and pure hearted.
Dante is really the most disposable character in the book. He’s older and while he bought atlas he told him he has no use for him because Dante is still in love with his dead lover who is Lukas. Throughout the book Dante verbally abuses atlas for up to 70% of the book. Telling him he never wanted him that he really wants is Lukas.
It was heartbreaking reading the book honestly. Like atlas have some self respect and find another alpha who isn’t stuck in the past. Weird part is that Dante still keeps his and lukas picture next to their bed. Like in real life no one keeps pictures of their ex in the house if they’ve moved on.
In the end atlas chose Dante first but Dante had chosen Lukas first and atlas will always be second option. The other thing that bugged me is that they named the baby after Dante’s dead lover. When he and Dante literally were the reason they almost didn’t have the baby. Like atlas you going to try and live in his shadows for the rest of your life?
Overall the book could’ve been executed better I think both MC were just not likeable especially Dante. I be rooting for Finlay though.
Obligatory I haven’t read this author before, which I’m surprised at because I do enjoy reading omegaverse and Mpreg on occasion.
Atlas has found himself in a dire position through no fault of his own and is now selling himself at The Auction – and he’s caught the attention of a pretty unsavoury Alpha.
Dante Stone is at The Auction through obligation rather than desire – he has no need for an omega as having lost is fated mate he has absolutely no interest in acquiring a new omega. However, something about Atlas catches his eye and he finds it impossible to allow the beautiful omega to fall into the hands of an alpha who has proven to be abusive in the past. Unfortunately, he then has to figure out what to do about said omega – whilst fighting feelings he hasn’t felt in a very long time.
To be perfectly honest, Dante was a bit of an AH at the beginning (and quite a long way into the story), and to the author’s credit, he didn’t try to even pretend that it was okay. His behaviour towards Atlas was rude, confusing and despicable and his grief was no excuse. On the other hand, Atlas was ungrateful, stubborn and on occasion really rude so they made quite the pair.
The chemistry between them was palpable and there was more than one occasion when I wanted to slap both of them upside the head and tell them to get out of their own way. Fortunately for me, we had Ronin for that (I really liked Ronin) and Finlay proved himself to be a good friend to both of them.
I would call this relatively low on angst, but there were definitely ups and downs for the couple before they found their HEA. I absolutely hated Mrs. Gentry and wouldn’t have been anywhere near as forgiving as Atlas with regards to the things she said and did. The sex scenes were steamy and I enjoyed reading this and am happy to see that the author has quite a substantial back catalogue for me to explore.
Ever wonder what would happen if someone took a cheesy historical Harlequin romance, added cars, planes, and gave the helpless heroine a penis? Well here you go! I found the blurb interesting but the book itself was mainly annoying for me.
I don’t know why but there is something about books like this that draw me in. Maybe it has something to do with the obvious social divide and unfairness of the situation many omegas find themselves in. Maybe, as a member of a social class that often has suffered at the hands of others simply for existing, they resonate with me and I can seriously sympathize with their plight. This book isn’t an easy read. It certainly isn’t Atlas’s fault that he finds himself at that auction. Dante may spout one thing as his reasons, but it is really not that simple. And he has no idea about how omegas such as Atlas suffer in society. He really is a big fat jerk at Atlas in the beginning, not seeing how his idea of the arrangement is unfair, nor does he seem to care. But I knew there had to be more to the man than that or his household staff wouldn’t care about him so much. He isn’t just a jerk in the beginning either. Anytime he feels he doesn’t get everything 100% his way, he lashes out. One thing Inreally enjoyed about this book was his growth as a character. Atlas suffers some emotional abuse in this book, so please be aware of potential triggers. It does all work out in the end. These two are meant to be together. Dante just has to work through this *@&$ first.
I really enjoyed Omega for Sale by new to me author Beau Brown.
Atlas was one of those characters that I just adored from the start. Due to circumstances beyond his control, he found himself homeless and put himself up for auction in the hopes of finding an Alpha to take him in.
Dante was at the auction with his friend and ended up bidding on and winning Atlas even though the last thing he wanted was another Omega after his last Omega passed away ten years prior. At times I wanted to scream at Dante to wake up and recognize his true feelings for Atlas (as did many side characters in the book), but I also had empathy with Dante's situation.
Atlas was the true hero in this story. Although he was an Omega, he was strong, knew what he wanted and wasn't willing to settle for anything other than the best for himself. He brought life and love back to Dante's home and demanded that Dante be the person Atlas needed him to be.
This book had just enough angst to keep me interested throughout, but didn't break me completely. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Its horrible omegas are treated as less than. Atlas, lost his education, home and stability because of his father and Atlas's own status as an omega.
I did hate that Alpha Dante was still grieving his mate. But hid childish attitudes and actions really annoyed me. The way that the omega in Atlas all but forced his forgiveness was a big nono.
Overall, a good read with a good storyline, there were just some pieces that I didn't care for that took away from my overall enjoyment.
Atlas is at the end of his options - his father has shamed their family name, leaving his as an omega without options. His last hope is to find an alpha to take care of him by entering The Auction. Here, alphas can bid on omegas available for breeding.
Dante is a shell of an alpha having lost his love-of-a-lifetime, Lukas, 10 years ago. He attends The Auction with a friend, Finley, and is drawn to Atlas and feels compelled to save him from a lesser alpha.
So far so good - this is a good start the story and written well. Where pieces started to not fit for me was after Atlas and Dante go to Dante's home. I understand it would be difficult for Dante to open himself up to another omega after his sad loss. I understand not wanting some of the things he had with Lukas with someone else. But the hot and cold, push/pull, behavior from Dante really went on too long and too far. He was quite hurtful in the words he flung at Atlas in moments of anger, and it was hard to get past and see him as deserving of forgiveness. Additionally, the behavior of some of the staff was quite unacceptable towards Atlas - I was disappointed there were more consequences for their abhorrent behavior. That to me would have shown true commitment to Atlas from Dante.
Some pros from the story I enjoyed:
1. Atlas is a wonderful MC - strong and brave, kind and caring. I loved watching him stand up for himself and the maturity he exhibited. It was wonderful to see his low tolerance for being verbally and emotionally abused.
2. Ronin is a wonderful side character - a great addition!
3. The physical relationship between Dante and Atlas - super great chemistry that was off the charts!
All in all, the story was good for me, but not great. Just a few too many frustrating moments and a bit of a quick redemption and forgiveness moment. I thought Dante should have had to work harder - or actually better yet, I wish he had not been so harsh to Atlas to begin with because he truly did not deserve to be forgiven.
3/5 stars
I received an ARC of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review.
Ok so....this could have been a great story however to much emphasis was focused on Lukas, Dante's dead mate. I actually adored the premise for this story and Atlas. Dante needed some major redemption which came toward the end of this story, but there was a lot of damage done IMO. There was so much missed potential for healing in this story instead it was filled hostility and anger toward Atlas, which I loathed!!! At one point in this story I just wanted Dante to set Altas free to find everything in life he deserved because it sure as sh*t was not coming from Dante or his wretched house keep Mrs. whatever her name was. I wanted to throat punch her lol. With all that being said, the end of this story was precious. Finally, Atlas and Dante get their HEA ( once Dante got his head out of his ...) and Atlas gets what he so richly deserves for being so incredibly selfless...love, happiness and the sweetest baby ever ❤️. I would most definitely be interested in another book in this universe, Ronin and Finlay's stories please!!
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review *
I was interested in the premise of this book and looking forward to reading it. I really liked Atlas and felt horrible for the situation he was in. I'd thought being bought by Dante would have been the beginning of a loving relationship, but that's not where this book went at all. Dante lost the love of his life ten years ago and is still grieving, refusing to love or care for someone else. But it quickly became clear that he was also controlling and nasty, acting almost spiteful and cruel for no good reason. I actually quickly regretted Dante being the MMC of this book. I would have preferred his friend Finlay to have been the one with the winning bid. He would have treated Atlas better. Heck, I would have preferred Finlay to buy Atlas directly from Dante to save face instead of at the auction. It would have been a better match. Dante just got on my bad side quickly and I did not finish the book, but skimmed to the happier ending. 3 stars.
I'm going to preface this review by saying that the book got 3 stars only because of the fated mate aspect. Otherwise, I would have ranked it lower. I spent 80% of the book literally wanting to do bodily harm to Dante, and yelling at Atlas to grow a spine. If it wasn't for the whole fated mate trope, and knowing that they were unable to leave each other, I would have hated this book. Dante is annoying as all get out, and until the last 20%, when he finally gets his baloney together, he seems almost unsalvageable. I know that everyone grieves their own way, but even that couldn't save Dante's shenanigans in my mind. While Atlas was trying to be strong, his hormones were getting the better of him. The storyline is actually well-written, but Dante was a hard pill to swallow.
This had the potential to be something truly awesome, however, the number of times the alpha's dead omega was mentioned really spoiled it for me. In fact, I would bet anything that "LUKAS", the dead omega, was the most mentioned word in the entire book... 🙈. It almost felt like a love-triangle more than anything else.
Which was really unfortunate cos Atlas was a good character. Sweet and emotional and in need of a lot of love and attention, which he absolutely deserved. Dante hesitance to move forward in the relationship was way overdone.
A story with so much potential and memorable side characters as well. Even the chemistry between the two MC's was done really well. Was truly glad for their HEA but more groveling by Dante would have made it even better... 💙💙
This was good, but I needed more groveling. I didn't expect Atlas to get over Dante's disrespect and hurt so fast. I wanted it to drag out for months. Show a true change in Dante, and not just him saying he'll change, and then they just get back together. With the level of angst that was created, the resolution needed more work. But this was an okay read. I love angst and drama and this book delivered, so... yeah. Also... Quick question because maybe I'm confused... is his name Dante Stone or Storm? Because his last name keeps changing, and I'm utterly confused.
This definitely was a spicier story from Beau Brown than I’ve read before and I was here for it!
Omega Atlas Payne has exhausted all of his options and entered The Auction as a last resort to find an Alpha who will take care of him since his father failed him. Atlas is sweet and innocent but also intelligent and brave in a way I haven’t seen many omegas portrayed before. My heart hurt for him when he was questioning his place in Dante’s life but I loved that he was strong enough to insist on being treated the way he deserved even when it was awkward and hard for him.
Alpha Dante Stone has been grieving his first love and husband Lukas for the past 10 years, going through the motions in his life but not really truly living. When he sees Atlas at The Auction, his protective instincts go into overdrive and he brings him home to live with him but isn’t sure what to do with him. Dante is a confusing character who goes from hot to cold in seconds, doesn’t know how to process his emotions and gets nasty when he’s confused. He’s cold and standoffish at the best of times but feels a pull to Atlas he doesn’t understand.
These two had a strained relationship at best for most of the story. There was so much guilt on Dante’s side for living his life now that Lukas is gone that it ruined so much of his relationship with Atlas, making him feel unwelcome. Even when they make progress in their relationship, something happens to put them back to where they started again and it was frustrating after a few times. Atlas wanted to be loved and was willing to be patient to get there but Dante was unyielding in his demands and expectations but was always moving the goalpost or changing his mind. Once Dante realizes how crazy he’s being thanks to Atlas making a big move and Ronin and Finley forcing him into action, it gets much better but it takes a long time to get there.
I’m intrigued by Ronin and Finley - great additions to the story and I’d love to see them get HEAs of their own one of these days!
I will start and say how I love the writing of this author, I swallow her books so fast, BUT this story was so frustrating!
SPOILERS!!
There is a reason why I try not to read books with widowed partners because this Alpha couldn't move on after 10 years! I mean I understand the grief but Dante locked Atlas like a bird in a cage and told him you have enough food and water for the rest of your life just live with what I give you. No chance for real love, sex or family and it made me so MAD I could scream! and the worst part he always told him that he only wants his dead mate not Atlas. Jesus just let him go if you won't have him, there were 3 great Alphas for him throw out the story. He only changed his mind because he couldn't let Atlas go.
Naming the baby Lucas at the end felt kinda weird, I don't know if I like it or not, because let him go with no ties and give the baby his own name, or honor Lucas by giving the baby his name as a memory and because he couldnt have his own children it's a good closure? idk
If you don't want to be angry at the Alpha who is by the way is nice and all but also a total asshole! Also the house keeper whatever her name was should been fired a long time ago, couldn't stand her! poor Atlas.
The best part of this book was too short for me, Atlas going to Dantes best friend (love him so much) to make Dante jealous, it was awesome.
anyway, 2.5 🌟 for all the ass behaviour in this book.
This was my first book from Beau Brown, which surprises me cause I love omegaverse with mpreg. Needless to say, I will definitely be reading some more books by Brown!
Omega for Sale had a lot more depth to it than I anticipated & I’m really happy with the amount of angst vs fluff it had. For me to love a b ook it needs to have good conflict as well as compelling characters arcs & I will say this book hit all my check marks in that regard!
Atlas is an omega whose father disgraced the family name, causing Atlas to get kicked out of school, his dorm & fired from work. Now that no one wants to employ him Atlas is in desperate need of cash & fast. He’s a young & attractive omega who is a virgin & has never had a heat so he decides to sell his at The Auction where wealthy Alphas bid on omegas for breeding.
When alpha Dante sees an attractive omega about to get sold to the nastiest alpha he intervenes in the spur of the moment & out bids that alpha. Dante doesn’t want an omega, he just came here with his friend but something about Atlas draws him in. Still grieving from the loss of his omega 10 years ago he is too guilt-ridden to move on with anyone else.
I loved Dante’s character arc! He transforms from a grumpy recluse into a hopeful happier person. The staff at his house (if you can even call it that, it’s so big lol) really cared for him & were so happy when Atlas comes to live there. Dante has a friend, Findlay, who is also a pretty big character & who I found really enjoyable. There a party in the book where Finlay & Atlas team up against Dante which was quite entertaining! Atlas really made Dante work for it to get him back after a conflict they had & I loved that part so much. Dante needed that!
*This book was gifted to me through Gay Romance Reviews but my review is not based on that fact & I will always give my honest opinion.
Omega Atlas is desperate and decides to sell himself at the Omega Auction. As humiliating as it is to him, he's happy when Alpha Dante wins the bid for him. It doesn't take long to realize he's traded one bad situation for another.
Alpha Dante wants Atlas but he doesn't want to want him. He bids on Atlas to save him and then makes one bad decision after another. Will he get things settled before it's too late?
This book has a really good premise but IMO the author didn't pull it off. Dante was unreasonably cruel to Atlas so many times that it was hard to continue reading. Dante also allowed others to be cruel to Atlas. The housekeeper, the stable manager and the chauffer were all sketchy in different ways. Dante was a sad excuse for a person and made sure everyone knew it. The book was way too depressing. Dante's last minute change of heart didn't ring true either IMO. Also there was several places where Dante's wolf was mentioned and there was claiming with a bite but there was never any change from human to wolf, so it didn't feel organic to the story. Really disappointed in the end product.
I loved Atlas in this book. He's been dealt an life-shattering hand and the fact that he even has to know what The Auction is, much less be part of it is heartbreaking. Dante is a much more complicated character and very difficult to like at times. Then, somewhere about the middle of the book he fell into place for me. Dante bought Atlas as a good deed to protect him from being purchased by someone he knew to be a despicable alpha. However, now Dante has a real problem. He's still grieving the loss of his omega/husband Lukas now he's faced with having a new, young, inexperienced omega to do something with. He is decent enough to be honest with Atlas right up front about how he still feels for Lukas but he initially has no conception of how hurtful his brutal honest is for Atlas. What the heck is Atlas supposed to do now? Fortunately, Dante comes to realize that Atlas isn't Lukas, isn't trying to "replace" Lukas and that loving again does not equal disloyalty or negation of what he and Lukas had. Through it all, Atlas is strong and stands up for himself. He's no omega doormat.
Atlas is an Omega, whose father's bad choices leave him desperate enough to put himself up for auction. Dante is a widowed alpha keeping his friend company at the auction, but he is immediately drawn to Atlas. In order to save Atlas from a fate worse than death, Dante bids and wins. After he takes his new Omega him, he doesn’t quite know what to do with him, since he is still grieving his Omega, although he has been gone for years. Can Dante let go of the past so he can embrace Atlas, his potential future?
I liked this book, even though Dante was not the best character. I can understand grief and past loves, but Dante is alive; Atlas is alive; Lukas is not. Get over it already. You can really tell how much of a struggle Dante is having because is very attracted to and drawn in by Atlas. But the way he is alienating Atlas just breaks my heart. No one deserves to be put in the corner. I loved Atlas as a character. He had a sweet, patient disposition and he did not deserve the maltreatment from Dante. But I am glad Dante finally wised up I the end and they got their HEA.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The writing is okay, but there's a lot of repetition. Mostly in the MCs' thoughts, but some during the dialogue. This could've easily been a hundred pages shorter if things were only mentioned once or twice.
😡 My biggest dislike is Dante, the weak alpha. He should've remained single and made a shrine for his late great love, Lukas—who, by the way, was mentioned over 200 times. It drove me nuts to hear how much he loved Lukas while wrestling with guilt over his feelings for Atlas. Time and again, he pushed Atlas away, first making him run away and then subjecting him to hours of torment during his heat without any relief. It spiraled to the point where Atlas, in his despair, grabbed a knife and tried to kill himself. Only then, did Dante relent and finally offer him his knot.
Then, when it's certain that Atlas is pregnant, he's given the morning-after pill.
What a wild ride that was for the heart! I immediately looked up to Atlas because of his incredible fortitude. However, Dante was a character in the first half of the book that I strongly disliked. I pity his perpetual state of despair. It was challenging to keep up with his erratic emotional state. This individual required extensive therapy. From time to time, he would act like a spoiled brat and lash out. There wasn't much of a clue in his threatening language. I appreciated Atlas's bravery in seeking refuge and his determination to improve his lot in life. Dante's introspection is sincere, and he genuinely wants to improve. Although Atlas is willing to forgive, he will never forget any abuse. In fact, I found myself enthusiastically applauding its arrival. Beau's usual style isn't at all reflected in this book. Even though there is conflict, the story is so engaging that I couldn't put it down. I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
Desperation is sour! Omega Atlas, had to make a few drastic changes and decisions in and for his life based on his Father's bad judgment. To survive, he entered into the Auction. He was purchased by Dante a rich Alpha who is puzzled why he felt compelled to bid and win. Dante lives a life of mourning after loosing his Omega, Lukas 10 years previously. Dante and Atlas have a misunderstanding which starts their relationship off to a bad start. Their journey is driven by their clash of personalities and their inability to communicate well. Both men are intriguing and funny in their way. The supporting characters are great. Does Dante put Lukas to rest? Can Atlas find his purpose? Will Dante and Atlan have a conversation that clarifies their positions, their goals? Good story. The author, did an excellent job bringing the heat and keeping the reader unbalanced over if they can find their way to an HEA. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This one was a struggle for me to assess with as little bias as possible as it hit too many buttons for me. This one was (for me) over the top Alpha-Alpha - Entitled -Rich Asshole. One of my buttons. Then the Alpha was emotionally abusive - another button. Finally, there were huge gaps in the logic or reasoning within the story. This is a major button for me. I am going to ignore the first two buttons as those are my issues, but a story line that does not make sense or that has gaps is not one I am willing to ignore. In addition, there is little to no world-building and the character development is . . . . haphazard. Conflicts and annoying characters are introduced and disappear or are ignored. For me this takes the whole thing down to a 3.5/5 - rounded toa 4 in case my dislike of the Alpha MC is overly influencing me. Will I read this author again? Well - I won't go looking for him.
What an emotional rollercoaster! Atlas shows such inner strength that he had my admiration from the start. Dante, on the other hand, I did NOT like, in the least, for the first part of the book. I felt sorry for the broken state he kept himself in. His emotional whiplash was hard to keep up with. The guy needed therapy, lots and lots of therapy. At moments he acted like a spoiled toddler and lashed out. His verbal abuse was hard to read. I liked that Atlas was willing to leave for safety and demand better in his life. Dante's self revelation is honest and he longs to be better. Atlas's forgiveness comes with a promise that any abuse will have permanent consequences. It made me cheer. This book is really different than Beau's regular writing. There is angst but the story is so intriguing that it had me unwilling to put it down. Bravo, Beau!
Omega for Sale has many of the things I appreciate in a book - a beautiful guy that everyone wants, a possessive and protective partner that can’t stand that, characters that I love to hate and can’t wait to see them get what is coming to them, babies, a little sass and a whole lot of spice! All of that with a teeny bit of angst sprinkled in makes this a great book.
I liked the secondary characters, too. The author wrote them with fitting personalities that allow them to enhance Atlas and Dante’s story. There are also a couple characters that I’d like to know more about, Finlay and Riley, an omega that only appeared briefly, but intrigued me in that short amount of time.
This author was new to me and I’m not sure how I’ve not read any previous book, but I will visit the catalog and read another because I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Atlas is an omega in desperate circumstances. He’s lost everything and is forced to put himself on the auction block to survive. Dante is an Alpha. He goes to the auction just to please a friend. An impulsive choice will change his life.
I didn’t like Dante for most of the book. I’ve always felt that it’s a sign of good writing when a character that’s supposed to be a good guy creates negative feelings. He eventually redeemed himself though. Atlas was a charming sweetheart. These two characters really shouldn’t of worked but they managed to pull it off.
World building did seem to be a bit sparse. The supporting characters really added a lot to the story. I liked most of them.
Omega for Sale is about a young omega, Atlas, who needs to get Auctioned off to live a better life due to his father tarnishing his reputation. Dante is an older alpha who had an omega ten years previous that unfortunately died too young. Dante goes to the Auction at the urging of his friend Finlay and that’s where he meets Atlas. You’ll have to read it to find out the rest.
I enjoyed reading Dante and Atlas’ book. It took me a bit as there are some slow parts that I normally do not like in my romance books, but I’m glad I persevered through it! Their story is not perfect which makes it seem more real. I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy their story!
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
