So Awesome!

I feel like I can’t really say anything without spoiling so I’ll just say the story is great. I think the transition from web series to book was good. This isn’t 5 stars only because of all of the formatting/spelling errors. I know Shenelle is working on that though. Normally I wouldn’t take stars off of indie/self-published books because of formatting/spelling errors, but Spellbound is a company and not one person operation. This book should’ve never went out like this. I can’t wait for the fixed copy to debut. I’ll gladly give it 5 stars when that happens. I highly appreciate having the book though. I’m just not someone who wants to read a novel a chapter at a time on Substack.

Such a good book to read, watch the series and then read the book. It keeps you on the edge of your seat.

My reading time for this book was very broken up, since I started in August, and then once every two or three weeks when new chapters had come out.
BUT, this book will be amazing on paper with the illustrations(I read it on Substack)and this book was just great. Just amazing.
Sneaky Shenelle, putting a small cliffhanger in the end. Why?! Agghhhg!!!! I can’t wait until the next season comes out!!!

**Minor spoilers**

I really loved the Youtube ARG, and the story of this book is intriguing as well, BUT I found myself screaming at these characters so many times for creating problems that could have been completely preventable. I also personally think there were some unanswered questions when Jasper left in the end. I do like the "it feels like they're missing something" feeling he left with, but only if that actually was the case, that they were missing something.

The writing starts off a little eh, but actually gets better as you progress through the book. The spelling and formatting-mistakes do not bother me too much, as it is a self published project (although with a huge company and money behind it).

These two stars are for 1, the fact that I do love the universe and the entire concept of the ARG, and 2, Nelson and Bens dialogue and character building. The authors really managed to portray Nelsons authoritarian, scary persona well. Totally gave me the ick, lol.

Overall intriguing book, but could be improved!

Literally one of the best books with clever and clearly thought out storytelling with passion and heart. Such a brilliant book that is close to my heart and will be a book that makes me feels proud to care and understand these four main characters so well. I do wish the Samantha character got more attention. And how they handled the B27 character is different than usual and at the same time remarkable and understanding of why that character is where he is.
The Jordan Kendall character is my new top favorite character throughout the series. I love the way she helped the main characters out and leaves more room for her to become a iconic character. I love the Jordan Kendall character in so many ways even though she's not in it as much. She stands out so well and the REDACTED storyline is nicely told. Worth reading.

Writing a review for this book is hard because I don't want to have it filled with spoilers. So much happened in this book, and I want to talk about it all, but I can't.

The continuation from the series worked really well. The characters were spot on, and it truly did feel like the series did.

I did have some complaints about the writing at first. However, as the book goes on, it gets better. There were typos throughout. Anyone who gets triggered by them needs to be forewarned. I was able to read past them, but a few did irk me a little bit.

The ending definitely leaves you with questions. I got to the end and wanted it to continue so badly. I was completely wrapped up in the story. It makes me want to go back and watch the series all over again.

I read this as the chapters updated on substacks. I very much enjoyed that we as subject four got to continue the story that had gone on for so long, even after the videos were over.

The story is well written and the universe fleshed out more within this first instalment of the books.

This takes nothing from the story but I did think it's worth mentioning for anyone unsure of buying a physical copy.

The chapters don't start at the top of the page. There is a rather large gap between the top and the start of the chapter. The documents used within the substack version are at the end with references within the text, for example "see page 320". This isn't too bad but does mean that you have to flip to the back of the book to see the document.

Definitely A Dope!

Project 863 has returned but in written form! That's right! The story that started out with a key and led to a nasty car, a biotech firm ran by a murderous megalomaniac, and multiple stakeout has returned!

And this one is a doozy.

When Matt and company are tasked by the pompous Jasper Shaw to work with the mysterious group THE REDACTED to solve a murder, the story hits the ground running as we run into old friends like Scott and Jim, and a cast of new characters with their own agendas.

I wasn't sure how it was going to translate into a book form but I actually loved it!

I was gripped with each chapter and it is a great continuation. I can absolutely see why it was turned into a story format, there simply would have been too many new characters to introduce and hire! I can't wait to read more and see what comes our way on the 1st July!

Stay Curious!

I really enjoyed this book! I've desperately missed Matt and the gang and seeing them back in action along with a new slew of characters was so fun!
I'm docking a star because of technical aspects. There were a lot of grammatical errors, missing words, and typos that really took me out of the story.
Was this a great follow-up to the Project 863 series?
YES!
Am excited for book 2?
HECK YES!

It had quite a few spelling/grammar mistakes, but tbh I don't care because it's Project 863 and I had a good time reading it :)

I loved it and waited too long before actually reading it.
Finally, we have confirmation of Debs' last name. Knew it.

And sorry Matt, Jasper was my favorite

The adaptation from videos to books felt barely noticeable. The story made me feel back in the amazing world of 863. I had been missing 863 once they switched the books.
