The premise sounded intriguing: “Amal finds out that her disastrous Tinder match is now going to be her boss.” Naturally, my intelligent brain assumed there had been some sort of hookup or awkward in-person encounter—something juicy that would cause tension later on. But no, the so-called "disaster" was just a one-sided conversation. He messaged, she blocked him, and that was it. The Tinder angle was barely even a subplot, more like a throwaway detail. If you’re expecting spice, you won’t find it here—this is a very clean romance.
To be honest, the mmc came was a spoilt little brat—self-centered, entitled, and not particularly likable for the most part. On the other hand, the female lead, Amal, was kind, grounded, and quite nice. So at least there’s that.
Plot-wise, it was highly predictable, filled with clichés, and carried all the emotional beats of a daytime soap opera. However, I didn’t mind that too much. I haven’t watched a soap in years, so it actually felt kind of nostalgic in a strange way. If you're in the mood for something familiar and undemanding, this fits the bill.
Overall, The Space Between Us is clean, dramatic and predictable romance. Not groundbreaking by any means, but if you're after a low-stakes love story with all the usual beats, it might just work for you.
