Does your message matter? I know my message should matter. If not to you, definitely to me and possibly for others. Everyone’s got a message that matters!

This book turned out to be something I really needed to read at this point of my life and my business. I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to not only achieve multiple streams of income, but also to figure out ways to get there! Fascinatingly, Your Message Matters was just what I needed!

Milligan breaks down how these methods worked for him and people he knows and are familiar with. He mentions names of people I’ve been following on social media and listening to their podcasts; I even have some of their books! Why have I never come across Milligan before?

Although I’d never heard of Milligan before in my quest for personal growth? It could be that his target market was specific and does not include me. There’s a hint I’ve received multiple times, who are you marketing to? You can’t market to everybody. I’ll need to follow the suggestion to narrow my target market and only market to them. If others show up, that’s cool, too!

Overall, I found Your Message Matters by Jonathan Milligan to be very useful. It will be a great addition to my business library! A complimentary digital copy of Your Message Matters by Jonathan Milligan was provided by Baker Books via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I give this book five out of five tiaras because it is guiding me towards finding my own message.

This book encourages readers who don’t think that they have anything to offer to the world. The “mission” of the book, a word he prefers to “goal,” is to help others become successful entrepreneurs who serve others, not only their own passion. It is the audience that shapes the message, e.g., what do they need, what do they want, and how the messenger can help the audience in these areas. The author claims that we all have a gift. We need to discover it , often with the help of others, bring that gift out and get outside perspectives because we tend to discount ourselves. We need to ignore others’ opinions that our gift has no value. The book is filled with encouragement along these lines. He offers several points to remember and elaborates on them. The book stresses a message-based business. Readers need to figure out their message and turn that into reality. The book easy to read with lots of interesting anecdotes. The book seeks to help people develop a messenger roadmap. There are exercises to guide readers toward this goal. There are also resources available at a web site for the book to help people in doing what the author advises readers to do. A message-based business, unlike other small businesses, is inexpensive to run with a potential for large profit margins. The book provides steps to help others likewise become successful entrepreneurs. The book is thus for a specific audience and the book stresses the need to present one’s message to a specific audience, as we cannot reach everyone with our specific message. The author mentions God twice, near the start of the book. He says that the gift everyone has is from God and we should give this gift to God. Other than this, however, the book is not explicitly a Christian book. That isn’t necessarily a problem. The core of the book is how to be an entrepreneur and start a message-based business. The author repeatedly stresses that the message and the business are for serving others, and that’s certainly a biblical concept, even if the author does not frame it that way. I expected a book published by Baker Books. However, it has excellent content, ideasa, exercises, and more.I would recommend it to anyone stuck with a dream but afraid to try to make it a reality.

I received a finished copy of this book as a Goodreads Giveaway. Thank you to the publisher/author for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review. In this book Jonathan Milligan offers a clean, clear, and easy-to-digest call to action encouraging those who want to venture off on their own self-employed path but don't know how to get started. Milligan has a knack for picking the perfect story to create metaphors to very adequately illustrate the messages about his life. He says it all comes down to your message and believing your message needs to be shared with the world. He talks about how everything starts with and leads to: Curiosity ----> Passion ----> Skill -----> Value of Work. Overall I was truly inspired by this book. Thank you to Milligan for this work. I recommend his messages and info so much that if you are low on time to read or struggle reading non-fiction / self help, I encourage you to also check out his podcast and website: https://www.jonathanmilligan.com/.

I’ve only recently been introduced to Jonathan‘s work. Reading this book has been absolutely incredible! I have read a lot of personal development, professional development, and business development books over the years. Jonathan provides very relatable experiences that I connected with immediately. I felt like he was writing a book about my past experiences. He has a lot actionable items that make you take action steps to think about how you want to get your message out and the best possible way to set yourself up for success. And, the best part- it is possible! I’m beyond grateful for this book and I know this one is a real game changer for me as I start writing my book. A must read!

Jonathan does a great job at breaking down the process of the journey toward getting paid for what we already know. I've followed him for a long time now, and he's a natural teacher who goes step-by-step in sharing what's worked for him.

The book uses great examples and engaging stories, and contains helpful, practical exercises to help implement what he teaches in the book. And that's the key: acting on what we're learning.

Definitely worth picking up!

When we think we don't have anything to say or anything of value to offer, this book proves us wrong. Not only that, Jonathan acts as our guide so that we can share our message and value with those who need it the most. Whether you are a blogger, coach, podcaster, make videos you need to read this book. If you are a communicator this book also is for you. Well written in a language that's like a good friend giving advice.

What I love about Jonathan is that he doesn't just teach you things, he also gives you a process to follow and walks you through each step.

My copy is full of highlights!

I went to Jonathan's live event last year and got to meet him and his amazing community. You need to join his tribe of bloggers, speakers, and online coaches. He is a great teacher and generous with his knowledge of what it takes to succeed online. I got an advance copy of this book, and Jonathan has told his story of how he became a full time blogger. His story is really inspiring and he gives you a proven plan to share your message. He's one of the good guys. Highly recommended!

This book couldn't have come at a more opportune time as now in this post COVID environment. With all the noise we deal with via the media and social media, it's hard to get your message heard. "Your Message Matters" is a resourceful book the Jonathan clearly outlines the steps required to get your message heard and get paid for what you know. Many of us are juggling multiple side-hustles and can't quite get focus on our key message and key audience, this book is the solution. I highly recommend this book.

Jonathan nails it!! His belief that if you have a message you truly think needs to be in the world then your message matters is such an encouragement. The timing of this book has been key to what I have been thinking and processing through. If you have something to say, then your message truly mattes and needs to be said!

Is it the case that many people have something of value to share with others but never take the first step in doing that? If that's you Jonathan Milliagan has a message for you.

"Simply put, your message matters. Big or small, if your message has the power to change someone’s day—or life—you have a responsibility to share it."

Your Message Matters can help you take the first step in your journey.

This is a wonderful book. Jonathan details the road he has traveled throughout his work career. It's not a "road less traveled" as I seem to be following in his well-worn footsteps.

But where this book differs from most accounts of a similar nature is that Jonathan gives detailed instructions of what to do when you face certain problems that will come up in your journey. Jonathan knows they will come up because he has already faced them.

It was Admiral Hyman Rickover, the founder of the U. S. Navy’s nuclear program who said:

You have to learn from other people’s mistakes. You simply don’t have enough time to make them all yourself.

Jonathan provides his readers with a powerful gift by giving them the opportunity to learn from his mistakes.

More importantly, his solutions to those problems seem to be better than anything I have been able to come up with on my own.

Do yourself a favor. Save time. Save money. Save yourself a lot of frustration. Buy Your Message Matters.

Read it. Learn it. Live it.

You'll be glad you did.

I love the way Milligan walks you through a step-by-step process that includes how to decipher what is your unique gift. Some books tell us that we must blog, or we must coach, or... etc. Jonathan reveals that, while all these platforms are viable, one style of communicating might be your perfect mode—and he helps you determine your personal style of communicating. This is a must-read book for anyone wanting to start or build their online business.

One-word definition for this book: practical.
This book is full of important insights, yet is very practical. It first helps you uncover and clarify your unique message. Then, Jonathan Milligan goes on to help you map out your own way to sharing this message with others.
If you feel the need to share your message, but are afraid of embarking on this journey, your confidence will be on another level once you finish reading this book.

I have been a student of Jonathan's for quite a while, so I knew this book would be great. What I hadn't counted on was how much new content there was, and that it all comes together in a way that gives me greater clarity than ever. To borrow a quote from the book, "The fact is, learning is important, but it often gives us a false sense of progress. No one can ever learn their way to results in life." There is a lot of knowledge packed into this book, but even better, there are action steps so that you can actually put what you're learning into play.

Your Message Matters is a perfect balance of encouragement and personal development combined with business education and practical application tips. I have highlighted much of the book, and know I will refer to it over and over. It's an easy to read, easy to digest, easy to implement handbook that will leave you confident that your message truly does matter and that you have a duty to get that message out into the world.

Wow. I am so inspired after reading Your Message Matters. Not only did Jonathan Milligan provide strong encouragement to entrepreneurs who have a message-based business (though most business people would benefit very much from this book,) he also provided tangible examples for ways to strengthen and expand the business.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I bought it. As I started reading it, I wasn't sure how much I'd get from the book since I'm 'just' an author and didn't want to grow from there. After reading this book, though, I can see how I can serve my readers better through additional channels and grow my business.

(I still never see myself with my own podcast, and that's okay.)

As a former educator, Jonathan Milligan teaches in an understandable manner. I have followed him for years through his courses, email newsletters, and videos. He has a "user-friendly" way of explaining things. This book assisted me in getting my message across in my own book. If you are looking to start a business and want to get past the fears and doubts, this book is a definite must-read.

My message does matter

This was a good read for me. I came across this book at the right time in my journey in becoming a full-time blogger.

I enjoyed the importance that was continually shared in this book over “my message does matter.” I am the only one who can deliver it the way that only I can.

There arenotjernlessonsninnjere that I'm walking away with but this is the one that they are all rolled up with for me.
