Glenn's Anatomy Before Glenn Litbeit opened his own clinic, he was just a med student--in an academy full of monsters! Take a trip back through time in this volume about young Glenn's trainee days at the lab run by his upperclassmen Sapphee and Lime. Dog-headed girls, hypersensitive marionettes, amorous silkworm-ladies and more--with such tantalizing adventures in consultation under his belt, it's no wonder Glenn became the doctoral sensation he did!
I really enjoyed the Silkworm God chapter, probably the best monster so far in any of the Monster Girl Doctor series. I also liked the university lab setting of the or prequel, maybe even more than Lindworm. I wouldn't mind a volume zero-two.
A somewhat short set of stories set during Glenn's student life when he was doing his first medical exams. While sweet with some interesting titbits on Glenn's past, it does add little to the overall story or world. The blurb hypes it a bit too much to be honest. Not too sure what to think of the memory loss used as an excuse to add a new important character, feels a bit cheap even if it did not come with the usual events of the trope and is at least somewhat grounded in the medical and adds a bit bitter sweetness to the story. The numbering also feels a bit off. Technically it is set before the regular series, but you do need to have read at least some of the volumes to understand what is going on and there is a very minor spoiler or two for other volumes. Still, it was a fun read, and more or less what I expected.
