This had a strong start, but ended on a whimper. Two naïve teenagers attend a concert to praise their favorite boy band. They manage to get themselves onto the post-event party bus where there is sex, drinking, drugs, and everything you think of, when you think of someone like Ozzy Osborne. An obsessed superfan is in attendance and things then steadily decline into a tie'm up and torture'm concept. And that was a majority of the story, which became very boring after awhile. It just felt like important plot points were breezed over to make more time for the bloodshed, which was very frustrating to me as the reader. Fran, our superfan, just goes, "I was off my meds. I have a mental health issue." Building on a very bad stigma of mentally ill people being serial killers and whatnot, there was just no official diagnosis or any detail, which was a shame. It either should've been completely fleshed out or left out altogether. And for her to go to such lengths to get onto the bus, drug and kill the band, plan out all of these awful games, and whatnot, but then claiming she was doing it all to convince the band not to break up? It didn't make sense. And why she would choose to torture and kill the other women in attendance also made zero sense. The very ending also just felt like a complete miss, leaving nothing resolved or complete. Lots of bloodshed with little story and extremely poor character development, this was not one of Harrison Phillips better showings.

Ever wonder what the Backstreet Boys would be like if they were nasty twits? Meet Any Day Now the biggest boy band to hit the stage. Poppy and her friend sneak backstage to a meet and greet with the boys. They invite all the parentless girls to an afterparty on the tour bus. Booze, drugs, and sex. Slight problem....one of the girls is out for revenge. She wants her pound of flesh before the party ends.

Best friends Poppy and Maddie attend a concert for their favorite band - Any Day Now - the biggest, hottest boy band on the planet. Poppy is their self-ascribed Biggest Fan - a Superfan. This concert is the last stop on their tour before taking a "hiatus" to pursue other things and will probably be Poppy's 5th and final time seeing them live.
After the show, the girls sneak backstage for the meet and greet, thinking about their infamous after parties - all the drugs, booze and hooking up with fans, and the two friends fantasize about being invited.
Lo and behold, one of the four members, Noah, asks the girls if they want to join them on the tour bus, so excitedly, the pair, along with four other girls accept. However, the party doesn't go as planned - sure there's the expected drugs, drinking and sex, but what no one could have predicted is being drugged by a disgruntled fan and waking up gagged and bound to chairs.
The person responsible is one of the other girls invited onto the bus. She apologizes to the other girls and tells them she's just here for the band members.
Turns out, this girl has a bad history with the band, and she's taken it upon herself to exact revenge.
Will anyone survive this after party?

Another quick, fun, easy, darkly hilarious read from one of my favorite authors It wasn't about what I thought it was going to be - the plot ended up totally different than I thought, but that wasn't a bad thing.

Poppy is a huge fan of the boy band Any Day Now. She claims to be their Superfan. When her and her best friend Maddie go and see them live, they crave more. They end up sneaking backstage to meet them in the flesh. When one of the boys asks them to come party on their tour bus, they can't say no.

Poppy, Maddie, and a couple of other girls head to the bus to have fun. That fun quickly turns into sex and drugs. Poppy is just about to get it on with one of her favourite members when blood starts to shed. This bus party quickly takes a turn for the worse and Poppy is forced to try and survive.

Harrison always delivers some fun stories. As a huge BSB fan back in the day, I completely understood Poppy's obsession. Some fun kills in this one and the ending was interesting. That poor bus driver! This revenge was well deserved!

Superfan

I really enjoyed this book, and I look forward to reading more by Harrison Phillips.
The story felt fresh, the body count was high, and there's a reason for the violence - not just gore for gore's sake.
***Possible Spoiler***
From the synopsis, I somehow expected the story to happen completely opposite from the way that it did, (like in Jennifer's Body). IDK why though, the title should have clued me in. But, I was surprised!

Good

This was a good read. I wondered where it was going at first but it soon became exciting and gruesome. A good compelling read. Full of lust and revenge. My first book read from this author and looking forward to reading more from them. I'd definitely recommend.

"....Phillips did a good job at taking this feeling of joy and genuine excitement, and turning it 180 by the end. When Poppy and Maddie get backstage, the vibes are unsettling. This feeling intensified ten fold, and where I genuinely thought it would be the band causing the gore and possible deaths. I have to say this section did seem a little too over sexed, and whilst the idea adds to the reveal at the end, I do feel it could’ve been done slightly less and still had the same impact. The twist in the tale is a “superfan” out for revenge; she’s deranged and thoroughly OTT, and this works wonders for the rest of the story. Her ways of torture were enough to make me wince, one being salt in deep wounds, as her description of cuts in fingers whilst eating salted food was enough made my skin crawl..."

Great read

This was a great short read! This extreme horror was definitely a revenge novel with descriptive scenes. As I was reading I could vividly picture everything going on. This would be an excellent film! I was absolutely impressed and will be reading more from the author. I hope it has some sort of sequel being the ending seems a bit open.

Emotional rollercoaster

If you can get past the Grotesque teenage orgy stuff That occurs early on in this book, it packs quite a punch.

The way the tables turn in this story is mind blowing! And you never see it coming.

Again, you can emphasize with the protagonist Poppy as she struggles to survive this bus ride through hell.
