Warrick is in danger, Caldor struggles to grow strong enough to challenge the Chaos threat, and to top it all off, Zander’s going to act as their healer for the next dungeon run.
Caldor is going to be busy.
He suffers from a recurring dream where his friend and mentor, Warrick, calls out to him for help. But how can he help someone he can’t find? His new found wealth and status as an Awakened Adventurer aren’t the answer, but they do offer a distraction from the haunting dreams.
Struggling to balance his new life and responsibilities, Caldor does all that he can to grow stronger and explore his new abilities. When Lord Variyn’s brother asks him a favor, he is hesitant to help. He wants Caldor to take his son on a dungeon run, something Caldor normally would love to do, except that his son is none other than Zander Variyn. How can he trust him to watch his back and keep his team healed when he’s literally tried to kill Caldor before? Read and find out in the latest installment of the Order & Chaos Saga, Arcane Knight Book 2.
This is a LitRPG book with a ‘system’-levels, stats, and cool abilities. No Harem and loads of fun violence.
I'm a dad of two wonderful girls and a husband to a wonderful wife.
As a full time author I enjoy hours of writing and reading every day. I'm living the dream and I thank my lucky stars each day that I get to write fulltime. Please leave a review and tell a friend about my books, each one reviewed or sold is a boon towards my epic quest of staying fulltime.
The two major plot lines setup at the start of the book, and the end of the last one, was the growing chaos threat and Warrick was missing. The main character, Caldor Miles, did nothing proactively to deal with these issues. He kept stumbling upon related issues to the major plot lines by pure happenstance while on his side quests. But that is it. He didn't purposely seek out to solve the greater issues. He just went on to his next side quest.
Then Caldor discovers that . What does he do? Manage his keep for weeks, and other similar side quests.
Everything felt very lackadaisical and non-urgent. Pointless.
This book barely did anything until the very end. So much useless stuff happening that it was a real chore to get through the center of the book. Pointless fight after pointless fight sandwiches between a lot of slice of life that didn't enhance the story.
His surrogate father/friend was being tortured and he does nothing. Doesn't even try to find him. Dude is sending him visions each night and he ignores them.
First book was okay, but the quality dropped a lot for this one. I don't plan to continue the series.
Made it about 2/3 through before deciding that I couldn't be bothered to finish it. It gets an honest "it was ok" 2 rating, as it wasn't the worst thing I'd ever read. Despite squeaking through the first book, this one didn't hold my attention; since reading isn't a sunk-cost kinda thing this is the end of the road for this series.
I don't understand the attitude adventurers in this world have towards dungeons. Why is the MC and his group going into well known and traversed dungeons with zero to minimal knowledge of boss mechanics. Seriously? People die. And they're just waltzing into popular dungeons without even asking other adventurers what to expect? Not to mention the way the dungeons are played like a typical MMO dungeon run is very off-putting for this setting. Saying shit like "tank and spank" bro what. These people dont even know what a video game is and theyre saying shit like tank and spank. They don't even say that in the world of warcraft novels come on now LOL
Also the narrators in the audiobook clash terribly. Why do they have different accents? And to put this as kindly as possible, the female narrator needs some serious lessons in voice acting. And especially needs some training in accents... the twins are a good example of this. The guy sounds british and the girl has an absolutely awful attempt at a southern one. Why! Its just so bad... please take some lessons. I'm on my knees begging
I felt like the first installment was a bit weaker in its over all writing but still filled with good magic system, characters, and over all story this felt like a natural progression in writing skills and I enjoyed it that much more. Awesome job!
I really did enjoy this book. The whole series has been good so far. The main character is still in the beginning of their career but his code of honor has been held so far.im looking Ng toward the future where that might get challenged.
Good read , has a good flow with plenty of action . Not to much stats but good to show progression. I read this too quickly and I’m eager to read book 3 .
We continue to follow Caldor as he gets stronger. In this book, he reclaims his keep and is a good son and checks on his family. Warwick dropped a bombshell on Caldor that makes me want to keep reading.
