Sometimes the moon and the fireflies and the honeysuckle and your body conspire to keep you awake and dancing all night long. Thank goodness mom didn't punish Amy for living her joy.

I have loved this book since I was very little. I've always related to Amy, who dances the night away despite her mother's orders to go to sleep. Amy takes care of her mother and lets her dreams come true in this wonderfully illustrated children's book.

Having had two daughters who loved to dance the night away, this story is very special to me. My daughters both loved it and I do too.

My daughter and I read this book throughout her childhood, but changed Amy the Dancing Bear to Leah the Singing Bear. She and I also had that type of relationship. She got away with a lot with her sweet demeanor.

My daughter now reads it to my granddaughter and she also loves it. It is the most delightful story for little girls and their moms ♥

Beautiful illustrations. Kind of long for my toddlers but they liked the pictures.

I felt like the daughter was somewhat of an insolent little brat, as she kept defying her mother, and dancing after being told to go to bed. She did this for so long that the mother bear was worn-out and passed-out in the bath. Luckily, at that point, she helped her mother to bed and went to bed herself.

A sweet story about a loving relationship between a mama bear and her little girl bear who loves to dance. This was Carly Simon’s first book for children. The illustrations by Margot Datz are delightful.

This is one of my favorite childhood books. I would read this with my mom before bed.

This is one book I loved as a child, love as an adult, and would love to read to my future (imaginary) children. I even loved it in high school! Beautiful illustrations.
