My teammates think she's married. I think it's more than that. Other than her name, I don't know anything about her, but I can't get enough of her. She's my obsession, my world, my everything. If only she would let me in, tell me why she's terrified, why she stays in the shadows, why she can't be seen in public. Then, as quickly as she came into my life, she disappears. As the daughter of a powerful politician, I was my boyfriend's perfect alibi until I wasn't. My life is in danger, and I have no choice but to disappear. I met Kaden in a bar, and the attraction was instant. We can't keep our hands off each other, but I'm careful not to tell him too much. He can't know who I am or why I'm running. My safety—and his—depends on it. Then my ex's conviction is overturned, he's out of prison, and witnesses are dying. I have to run again and leave behind the one man I'll never forget. But fate has a way of interfering, and this time, leaving isn't so easy.

Playmaker is the third book of the Scoring series but it could be read as a standalone because we didn't get to see a lot of Kaden's girl in the previous books.

Kaden's first season as a Seattle Sockeyes' rookie didn't end in a good way, he can't believe he put his career and dream work at risk for a woman, a woman who disappeared in thin air without even saying goodbye.
Delaney has no other choice but keep hiding and running away, leaving all her loved ones without saying goodbye, but she never imagined that Kaden would have made everything in his power to find her again.
Will their love be stronger than fear?

I enjoyed this story so much, the suspense, the thrilling, and also the funny times.
I loved to see the Puck Brothers reunited and helping each other.

I'm already looking forward to Steel story because I think it will be so much enterteining to see him melting for a woman.

Playmaker by Jami Davenport was the third book in the Scoring series, a spinoff from Davenport’s Seattle Sockeyes series.

Davenport had teased us previously with the mysterious woman that had tamed the wild and untamable Kaden. Kaden Westbrook was a rookie defenseman for the NHL team the Seattle Sockeyes. He was a rising star. His mystery women we never met but his teammates and fellow Puck Brothers - a small group of guys that went through training camp together and were vying for spots on the team - thought she was married.

Playmaker opened with the mystery woman having a name, Delaney, and she was waiting for Kaden at their designated bar. Kaden was late and Delaney got a call that told her she needed to run, again. And the story began to unravel....

Davenport took us through a plot full of mystery and suspense. Kaden had just started the off season so the hockey was minimal but the team bond was still present with the Puck Brothers. Davenport also began to reveal glimpses of Delaney and her reason for running. No spoilers, but it was a worthy and entertaining read.

Additionally, Davenport set the stage well for Steele, the final Puck Brother. He was the silent and orderly one of the group and had just met his extreme opposite. Did I say extreme? Yeah, it had promise for a wild ride. I can’t wait for Steele’s story next in Icing.

Kaden Westbrook knows Delaney Springfield is only giving him half-truths, she is far too guarded about things in her life and it is evident she is hiding things from him. His teammates think he is not the only man in her life, but he thinks it's not that at all, he gets the feeling she is in danger, and he wishes she trusted him enough to tell him what she is running from.

But before he can get to the bottom of things she is gone without so much as an goodbye, and he just can't leave things that way between them. The moment he met her he knew she wasn't a one-night kind of girl, no, she was the kind of girl you hold on to, and that is exactly what he wants to do... but first he has to find her!

With it's dramatic and suspenseful story line Playmaker is a story that is impossible to put down. Once your eyes find the words you will be completely transfixed by them, they paint a heart-torturing picture of a couple who obviously belongs with one another, but are kept apart by secrets and a past one of them is trying to outrun. Delaney is trying to escape the mistakes of her father and the man he wronged in the process, and all Kaden wants to do is keep her safe. There is so much push and pull between these two, both wanting to save one another from the danger that is lurking. But also wanting to give into their hearts and the feelings growing between them, knowing it may cost them everything. I loved watching this story unfold, and seeing these two find their way back to one another, and get their well deserved happily ever after. I have got to say this one delighted on all fronts, it's wonderfully crafted characters took me on a journey that was not only enthralling, but it also squeezed my heart in all the right places! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

4 star Review Playmaker: A Seattle Sockeyes Novel (The Scoring Series #3) by Jami Davenport

This is the third book in The Scoring Series and is Kaden and Delaney’s story. The writing was strong and the characters had depth. Kaden knows there is more to Delaney that what his Seattle Sockeyes team mates think.

Delaney has a secret and in order to keep herself safe, stays within the shadows. I enjoy romantic suspense and I was invested in the story that Ms.Davenport wove from the first to the last chapter.

When danger rears it’s head she will run in order to keep not only herself, but Kaden as well from harms way. But what happens when the truth comes out? Will Delaney be prepared to risk their safety?

I liked Delaney, she is a strong woman, a survivor. Kaden was swoon worthy and I loved his support and belief in Delaney even when there were times I was frustrated with her.

The secondary characters were entertaining and Playmaker was an entertaining story that captivated me and I cannot wait to read more in this exciting series.

4.5 Stars for Playmaker (Scoring #3)
This is Delaney and Karen’s story and it’s a tale that captivated me from the first page to the last line.
Delaney is keeping secrets and that means never getting close to anyone from the Seattle Sockeyes but Kaden is certain he can wear her down and be the man she needs, problem is when the truth comes out will Delaney stay or run.....
Kaden is the man we would all love to have on our arm, he is hot, kind and supportive and I fell hard and fast for him, Delaney is a strong, survivor who we can all relate to and once you add in the rest of the Sockeyes and their families you get one entertaining read that has the perfect mix of love, danger, drama and humour. Loved Playmaker and highly recommend it to all romance lovers especially sports romance lovers.

I love Jami Davenports books. Her characters come to life on the pages for me . Kadens girl has been a mystery for a while to us. We finally get to meet her. She isn’t what I was expecting but better than I expected. Lanie is a great fit to Kaden.

I liked how the author brought the story to a close and ended the turmoil that was within the storyline. It wasn’t expected. But was ?

Kadens character could be your boy next door kind of guy he is such a great guy and mannerly but not... where Lanie is well Lanie. We know she has secrets and they are revealed yet she is still her.
Good weekend read book.
Jami is one of my go to authors.

I was excited to start this I thought it would be thrilling. It wasn't and it was actually pretty slow paced. There were some hot scenes with Kaden and Delaney but other then that it was mostly her ready to run like a scared little rabbit and Kaden trying to get her to stay. And then after all that was said and done she was just going to let him go?
Not my favorite couple. Kaden was a little to whipped and deserved better. They had a cute moment at the end after she pulled her head out of her...but for the most part I wasn't a fan of their story.

Kaden and Lainey has a one-night stand and decided they needed to see more of each other. Over several months they keep seeing each other, but their relationship is kept secret, so secret Kaden doesn’t know anything about her, who she really is, where she lives.. his friends think she’s a married woman. This all happens before this book begins and is a subplot in the prior books in this series by Jami Davenport. I had read the first book, but not the second before getting an ARC of this book.

Lainey is on the run and gets a call telling her she’s in danger and needs to run again. She doesn’t tell Kaden goodbye and just disappears. Neither of them
Had realized how deeply they cared for each other, and suffer being apart.

This book is told in dual POV, and shares what each of them are going through while apart dealing with their feelings and the outcomes of how they reacted. Kaden is devastated with her disappearance and hires a PI to look for her. He also decides to try the one location he and Lainey had talked about.

This book could be read as a standalone; however I think the reader would more thoroughly enjoy the friendships between Kaden and his group of friends and threads of previous plots carried over from the two previous books having read the other two books in the series. This book’s strength is the emotional support Kaden’s hockey teammates and their girlfriends provide him as he loses Lainey, searches for her, tries to get over her, finds her and then maybe loses her again. The relationship between Kaden and Lainey is an emotional ride and explores whether this is a relationship based on just sex or can it be built to last. I enjoyed this book and discovering why Lainey was in the run and in danger. Was the danger real, and could she stay in Seattle and make a life with Kaden.

I received an ARC; however this book was already on my TBR list with an alert for when it was scheduled to be released. I have enjoyed previous books by this author and this one was a great read too. It’s not a typical fluffy rom-com/sports romance!

I am really liking this series. This was an intriguing and very enjoyable story. Kaden and Lanie are wonderful characters. It's the off season so there isn't really any hockey in this one, just the players and the situation that has them all rallying around Kaden. Which was kind of cool actually to get them all out of their natural habitat lol (the rink) and see how they are there for each other in so many other ways than just as teammates.
I really like Kaden and Lanie. Prior to where the story begins for us, they had been seeing each other for a while but she remained mysterious to him except for how they felt when they were together and the undeniable physical chemistry they have. Then one day she just up and disappeared. He has a very adverse reaction to that and ends up in trouble with the team. As a rookie, that's the last thing he wanted or needed. But what Kaden really needs is to find Lanie so he can get answers or closure, but hopefully just to get her back; so he does whatever he can to do just that. He enlists help and then his teammates get involved and rally behind them. But can he convince her how much he loves her and that he wants her in his life despite how she wants to keep him out of it for his own protection? Will she follow her heart? Or will she go back to her old life and leave him heartbroken? Great epilogue and nice set up for Steele's book!

I'm really enjoying this Puck Brothers series. Lanie has dangerous secrets that could get in the way of any relationship with Kaden. He tried to show her he can protect her.

Jami Davenport gets a hat trick with the third book in The Scoring series, PLAYMAKER. This is hockey defenseman Kaden Westbrook’s and Delaney Springfield’s story. It takes place in Seattle, Madrona Island, and Washington DC. It is suitable for adult readers.

I was looking forward to learning more about Kaden’s mystery woman after the previous book. I was not disappointed. I loved Delaney’s character. She was idealistic and a good person. She is on the run, fearing for her life. She falls in love with Kaden but is afraid for his safety, so she leaves him. Kaden was crushed when Delaney left. He does not handle it well, nearly costing him his career. I love his persistence in finding her.

I enjoyed how the two characters grew tremendously throughout the story. They discover a lot about themselves and the other. The plot was skillfully executed. The story was interesting from start to finish. I appreciated how other characters from the Scoring, Seattle Sockeyes Hockey, and Seattle Steelheads Football series were incorporated into this story; especially Drew Delacorte (Seattle Sockeyes Hockey #8). Jami Davenport continues to do an amazing job this series. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports romances and political/crime thrillers. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I wanted more from this story, yes it was engaging and it kept me going, but I felt like it was lacking the sports side of it.. when I read a sports romance I need to read more about the character's life being an athlete plus their relationship..

I loved it!

This is the third book in Jami Davenport’s Puck Brothers Novels, and even though each of these are stand-a-lones, they have interconnecting characters, with cameos from our heroes of hockey novels past. Of these recent books, Shutout and Blocked, I have most been looking forward to Kaden’s story, because he and his secret have been simmering away quietly in the background, and I have been all kinds of intrigued. Throughout the first two books, he’s been decidedly secretive and passing on the sexual favours of the puck bunnies, and has been disappearing for days at a time in between training and matches.

Then, at the end of Blocked, we found out that Kaden had gotten into a fight and was suspended. His playing and concentration had dropped, and the guys knew it was due to the woman he’d been seeing. They believed she was married! Then he told them that she’d disappeared.

And this is where we met Delaney. She has one hell of a secret, and it’s not a marriage she’s hiding! She’s on the run, and in the prologue, she stands him up, disappearing from his life without a goodbye, leaving Kaden worried, angry and frustrated enough to land his career almost in the toilet.

Ms Davenport has written for us, one hell of a ride. It’s exciting, full on and somewhat suspenseful, yet still has the all of the witty banter that I love about her books. These puck brothers are there for each other through thick and thin and I love the camaraderie that she has written for them.
I have to admit to tears in one of the end scenes. No spoilers from me, but I absolutely loved the way that Jami Davenport finished Kaden and Delaney’s story – in a very unorthodox manner, and very typical of them. Yep, I just loved it!!!

Before I go, let me just say that I thought I was all agog for Kaden’s story, but seriously Jami Davenport has just whetted my appetite even further for Steele! He is really all secret squirrelly and stuff! I had to laugh at his contribution to this book, and I feel that he almost stole the show. He’s met his match, and I’m hoping this will be what lights a fire under his love and romance denying backside. Bring it on!!

Meanwhile, 5 Stars for this book!!!

A new entry in Jami Davenport's latest series about four friends who play in the NHL, Scoring. Kaden has achieved his dream of playing in the NHL for the Seattle Sockeyes but it has turned to dust. He is currently suspended from the team and the woman he loves has disappeared. Life sucks!
He hires a former player now a professional PI to find the woman he knows as Lanie. Lanie is actually Delaney, a member of a prominent family who knows something she shouldn't and has been on the run for a while. When her past caught up with her in Seattle, she ran away to protect herself and Kaden.

Having read the earlier books in the series, it's nice to finally find out what is going on with the mysterious woman Kaden has been seeing. He gets his act together and is reinstated on the team and now he needs to get his personal life in the same place. When he finds out where she is, he and the gang head to Madrona Island. Note: this is a shout out to other books by Ms. Davenport. The interesting part comes when teammate and friend Steele, lets it be known that he can help because "he knows people". This seems to be a recurring theme in a lot of these hockey themed books- the team is like your family and they are there for you through thick and thin. Even the WAGS (wives and girlfriends) add their support and advise wanted or not.
Needless to say there is lots of drama in this book, some secrets are revealed, and of course there is plenty of hot sex! Sometimes, I find these damsel in distress books to be annoying, but this one worked perfectly well with a little stretch on the bounds of reality. As in the other books there is just enough information about other characters besides the lead to make you anticipate the next book in the series- hint: hope it's Steele!

I was never a hockey fan but I came across her book Crashing the Net, an early Sockeyes novel and loved it. Now I'm a total hockey romance fangirl. Maybe I'll actually watch a game soon!

Delaney is the daughter of a powerful politician. With her life in danger, she must disappear. Delaney is on the run from the life she once knew when she meets Kaden. Kaden is a rookie hockey player for the Seattle Sockeyes. The attraction is instant, and they can't keep their hands off each other. When Delaney's ex's conviction is overturned, he is set free, and witnesses start dying. Delaney knows she has to run again but running from Kaden breaks her heart. Kaden gets into a drunken bar brawl when Delaney disappears that gets him suspended for the remainder of his rookie year. Kaden holds out in a cabin away from everyone and everything. Kaden makes the decision to hire an ex Sockeye turned private detective to find Delaney. While on vacation, Kaden comes face to face with Delaney. Kaden is heartbroken when Delaney makes it seem she is with someone else. Delaney knows she must push Kaden away to keep him safe. What will Kaden do when he learns Delaney's secrets? Will Delaney keep running or fight for a future with Kaden? Will Delaney come forward and reveal she is alive and well when a photographer recognizes her? Can Kaden set Delaney free to pursue her passion? I absolutely love Jami Davenport! Playmaker is a fantastic books with great characters who will make you laugh, swoon, and sometimes beat your head in frustration. The chemistry between Kaden and Delaney is like a blazing inferno. I would highly recommend getting Playmaker and the other books in The Scoring Series. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.

Delaney aka Lanie Springfield is a politician’s daughter, so of course she will be following in her fathers footsteps and ready to take on the world. But instead she is running from that life and her ex-fiancé. From DC to Washington State Lanie never dreamed that one night she would run into the man of her dreams at a bar who was able to take her to the moon and back. It seemed to be going well when she got the call that her ex-fiancé was released from prison and all of a sudden all the witnesses are missing. Now she has to run again in order to protect the man she fell in love with. She just hopes that one day he will understand she never meant to hurt him.

Kaden Westbrook is one of the stars of the Seattle Sockeyes and it seemed everything was going his way including finding the woman of his dreams. Then she disappears as suddenly as she had appeared and he lost it all including being suspended so his team lost. Is what his teammates think is true? Is she married? Is she a fraud? But he will do anything to find her and the truth.

Will they be able to find each other again and overcome all the dangers? Will she be able to finally tell him why she is running?

This book isn’t just romance it is also mystery and action. You never know what is going to happen next. Plus you are able to already seen the magic between the characters in the next book of the series. I’ve been a long time fan of Jami Davenport’s books and this is one of my favorites!!

In Playmaker, we finally get to discover Delaney (Lani) and the secrets she's hiding. Kaden who plays for the Seattle Sockeyes Hockey team starts off his relationship with Lani as a one night stand but he can't get her out of his mind so they end up in a relationship. Kaden really likes her but doesn't like to push her too hard. Lani's past catches up to her and she has to pack and run if she stays it will be too dangerous for Kaden. She loves him too much to let anything happen to him. One day fate throws Kaden a hand and he ends up holidaying where Lani has escaped to living under yet a different name. He's beginning to wonder what is up with her she has to keep running and changing her name. Is she married or running from an abusive boyfriend? Kaden manages to bring her round and start up his relationship with her again though in the back of his mind always worried she will run again.
I received an arc copy to do an honest review for NNBB. I loved this story of a sweet romance with some humor and mystery thrown in. I loved this story and once you started it was hard to put down you just had to keep going. Although this is part of a series it can still be read as a stand-alone. I loved the interaction between Steele and Cin when they get introduced and cant wait to see how their story will pan out.

Playmaker is an interesting romance, it's almost more like a mystery than a love story. Kaden and Delaney are already firmly in love at the beginning of the story, but Delaney has unexpectedly left - taken off without a word to Kaden, and he's heartbroken. What he doesn't know if that Delaney on the run from some very powerful people, and she is concerned for his safety if she lets him in on her secret. Fate brings them back together again, in the most beautiful setting, the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State. It takes nearly half the book before we learn what and who Delaney is running from. Then the story changes into Delaney trying to decide whether to stay or run again, and Kaden trying to figure out how to get her to stay. While she's terribly afraid, Delaney ultimately makes her decision with the help of most of the Sockeyes team, knowing they will have her back.

Playmaker is interesting and suspenseful, and there's a slight twist I wasn't expecting toward the end, right before the happily ever after, which added a little oomph to the story.

Playmaker is an awesome distraction from real life, and a great addition to the Seattle Sockeyes Scoring series - but I have to admit, I'm going to be eagerly awaiting for Steele and Cin's story coming up next! So much mystery and tension with those two!

Playmaker is the third book in the Scoring series. I love a good sports romance, but I also enjoyed the addition of the mystery surrounding our heroine.

Kaden Westbrook is a rookie for the Seattle Sockeyes who wasn't looking to find a girlfriend, but ended up meeting a woman in a bar who changed his outlook. Now that she has vanished without a trace, he wants to find her and make her realize how good they could be together. However, his teammates seem to think she's hiding a husband or boyfriend, but Kaden feels like there is something else going on.

Delaney Springfield is the daughter of a power politician and is running for her life, literally. When her ex-fiance is released from prison, Lanie feels like the only option she has is to run and that also means leaving Kaden, a man she has fallen for in a very short period of time. With Kaden, it's the first time Lanie has felt safe in a long time, but can she risk his safety?

Kaden and Lanie are great characters and their chemistry was easy to see. I liked the involvement of Kaden's teammates and their significant others in how things ultimately played out. It showcased that everyone needs help from time to time and sometimes those that aren't right in the middle of the situation can bring new perspective to it and put everyone on the right course.

I enjoyed this one and I'm most definitely looking forward to Steele's book. I'm very intrigued!

Delaney has been living her life on run for more than two years now. Struggling to survive from her past, she cannot afford to form any attachment to a place or a person as nothing is permanent in life. But fate has different plans for her. She meets hot shot hockey player and falls in love with him.
Kaden feels something for Delaney he has never experienced with any one else.
But life has more lemons to throw at her...her past is back to haunt her present and she has to leave everything to start a new life... under new identity... somewhere else...Will Kaden ever finds her? What will happen when time runs out and her past confronts her face to face?

....Kaden and I had the beginnings of something special, but I’d never find out how special. All I had were my memories to keep me warm at night. My life didn’t allow for relationships or friendships. Only fear and constant looking over my shoulder.....

Oh my God. I got the chills so many times toward the end of this book. It completely blew my mind. It managed to surpass my high expectations AND be nothing at all like I expected.
This story has so many twists and turns in it and I loved every word!
I thought it was really well written and loved the slow burn aspect of it. Nothing is rushed in here and it all fits perfectly together.
The heroine has experienced so many terrors in her life that to put in someone else for her safety is just really difficult for her.
The details in the characters development is just awe-inspiring...
Had so much trouble putting this book down..I love this angsty sports romance with a bit of suspense!!!.
The unvielinh of truth is done so precisely that there was literally no loopholes I could find in the story...
A 5 star read for me...
Must Recommend this book to all steamy sports romance lovers!!!

3 1/2 STARS!

Her secrets have turned into a danger no one saw coming! With the third book in The Scoring Series Jami Davenport takes us back into the heart of her Seattle Sockeyes hockey world to hunt down true love. The premise of the story starts out exciting, but sadly the follow through falls flat when there was so much potential there to make it keep us on our toes. The story is filled with members of the Sockeyes, but there's no hockey practice or play whatsoever in the story line, so even the sports aspect was disappointing. It held my attention and kept me reading, but I wanted more.

Kaden is a sweet character. He has the rep of being a player, but since the night he met Lanie he's been all in and when she disappears without a word, he's heartbroken. He sets out to find her to make sure she's okay. I enjoyed the emotion he brought to the story.

Delaney had a set-up to bring a lot of tension to the story line but there was no follow through with the suspense. Her about face towards the end was quite the let down, but their eventual HEA was sweet.

I'm looking forward to Steele's story after getting to know him a little more in this book.

The third installment of the Seattle Sockeyes Puck Brothers series was a bit different than the previous books with a bit more suspense.
We’ve met Kaden in previous books and were never quite sure what the story of him and his mystery woman was. We finally get answers when we meet Delaney and find she is running from not just an ex-fiancé, but an ex-Fiancé that has just gotten out of prison!
Delaney runs to Madrona Island to hide out, but is soon found by Kaden and his Puck Brothers. Realizing how important Kaden is to be her happiness, she shares the story of her past and her fears of the future with Kaden and they spend a magical two weeks together.
Just when you think everything is going to be smooth sailing, Jami pulls a fast one and Kaden finds himself heading back to Seattle alone....or does he go alone!?! We get the HEA we want for Kaden and Delaney with just enough angst to make it interesting but not enough to send my Kindle flying through the air!
The Puck Brothers continue to entertain as we see Easton and Axel as strong secondary characters but it’s Steele that makes us want book four! I see sparks with Steele and Cin and can’t wait to see their relationship!!

This book has it all - suspense, intrigue and chemistry off the charts! I love The Scoring Series by Jami Davenport!

In this book we meet Kaden's love interest. Kaden is a rookie hockey player on the Seattle Sockeyes. Unfortunately, Delaney (Lanie) is running from a past and one night she fears her past is closing in on her and she disappears before she's able to see Kaden and say goodbye. Kaden is distraught that she's disappeared and gets into a fight that leaves him suspended from the playoffs and his future with the Sockeyes in jeopardy.

Kaden's fighting to keep his job and hires someone to help him find Lanie. They locate her on an island but she's still pushing him away. I have been waiting to find out about Kaden’s mystery woman since we got our first glimpse, and the story did not disappoint. Kaden knew he loved Lanie, and couldn’t figure out why she would leave without saying goodbye. Lanie has secrets and she felt she had to leave in order to protect him, as much as herself.
When they meet up again, sparks fly, but she still doesn’t feel like she can open up and lies to him to get him to leave her alone. This book is about not giving up on the one you love, second (and in a way), third chances at love. I loved how his friends rallied to support her. I didn’t like her dad, he did eventually win me over though. Ultimately, Lanie has to decide if she wants to keep running or fight for her happiness.
I love this series and this might be my favorite. I can’t wait to read Steele’s story next. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Kaden believes that his life is going exactly the way he wants as he is enjoying his rookie year playing with the Seattle Sockeyes and he has a met a woman who has stolen his heart. He knows that she is keeping secrets, but he believes that with time will come trust. When she vanishes, he is devastated and not only is her personal life in shambles but his professional life as well.

Lanie is a woman who is trying to escape her past and she believes that the only way to stay safe is to keep a low profile. She knew that getting involved with Kaden was a risk but walking away wasn’t an option until her past resurfaces with a vengeance and the only way to protect him is to cut off all contact. She just expected him to move on with his life, but she is about to realize the truth is very different.

Despite Lanie’s best of intentions Kaden knows that they belong together and with the help of his teammates she is about to realize it as well.

This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and is Kaden and Laney’s story. Laney is the daughter of a powerful politician and she was the alibi for her boyfriend; however, she is in danger and is on the run constantly. Kaden is a sexy hockey player, and he and Laney meet in a bar there is an instant attraction between them, and after a 1-night stand they both feel they want to see more of each other, but it need to be kept as a secret. When Laney’s past comes back to haunt her, she runs again, leaving behind a devastated Kaden who hires a PI to find her. This is a beautifully written flawless story which is filled with emotions, danger, twists, secrets, suspense, and love, which all lead to a riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this gifted author whose work I highly recommend for all.

This book was unexpected and such a great read. I did not expect things to happen like they did and that made it hard to put down. So much drama and suspense that leaves you excited to see what comes next.

Kaden and Delaney are an unlikely pair that have you rooting for them and their happiness. Kaden fights to keep Delaney safe while Delaney is just trying to stay alive and save those she loves. Kadens Puck Brother and teammate Steel offers help from an unlikely source...his mom. That being said I became more curious about who Steel really is and just what does his mom do. This book is the 3rd in the series but can be read as a standalone. I finished this book in a matter of hours it was soo good. I did receive an ARC for my honest opinion and review. This book and the rest of the series is a must read!

We finally get to meet Kaden’s mystery girlfriend!

Hockey player Kaden Westbrook knew that his friends thought he was dating a married woman because they never met her. Kaden knew that something was up because Lanie never wanted any pictures taken of them, but he realized how little he knew about her when he went to hired someone to find her. Delaney (Lanie) is on the run because her former boyfriend that she testified against was released from prison on a technicality and some of the other witnesses are either dead or missing. Does Kaden let her go or does he still hope to see her again?

Playmaker is a fun romance with suspense about Lanie with very little hockey because most of the book is set during the offseason when the players are on vacation. Now I want to know more about Steele!

P.S. I laughed so hard reading the bachelor party scene!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is book #3 in the Scoring series of the Seattle Sockeyes, Kaden and Delaney's story. This grabbed me from the beginning with it being dark and a mystery surrounding "Lanie". She is Kaden's mystery girlfriend, one, his fellow players believed was married since she never came around and never wanted to be in any pictures or shared any info about herself. Kaden realized he knew very little about her even though they have been seeing each other for a while. He goes to meet her at a bar and she's not there. Lanie had just found out some info and realizes her life is in danger so again she runs.
Kaden is determined to find her, can he? And if he does, will her past allow her to be with him or will he even want to. Can they trust each other? Will they be safe?

I enjoyed their story and also Kaden's teammates being a part of it. Next comes Steele's book and I'm am so intrigued and can't wait.

This is the third book in the series but can easily be read as a stand alone. If y ou are familiar with the team, you may get more out of the story. This one isn't really a sports romance other than Kaden and his friends are all NHL players. The bulk of this story takes place on a beautiful resort island in the pacific northwest. A beautiful setting for a story about the one that got away.

Lanie is running for her life and as much as she loves Kaden, she can't get him involved in the danger. That doesn't stop him. He knows a good think when he sees it. Meddling friends, kids, dogs, lots of cooking and some sweet romancing. This book is the perfect summer read. No hockey in this one but that is ok. I loved how these two finally worked things out.

Great story!
