I had my whole life mapped out in front of me from childhood. I was going to marry my best friend, and we were going to have a perfect life together until we grew old and died together. Funny how life isn’t so simple as we would like it to be. Marrying my childhood best friend seemed like everything was going to be perfect. One night, my best friend, my love, my husband was snatched away from me in a blink of an eye by death himself. After a year, I sold everything and moved away from our home, our past, to start anew.
One chance meeting in a club where our best friends meet throws me and Eric in constant contact with each other. He’s sexy as all get out, but his career puts his life on the line every day of the year. Knowing the pain of losing the person you love to death, I vowed to keep my heart away from Eric. The only problem with this is Eric awakens a part of me I never knew existed. He pushes me at every turn to go outside my comfort zone. To give him a chance with my heart with my future happiness. Can I let a man who could awaken a whole new me in to heal wounds left behind by life and death?
This hit a very personal nerve. There's a special place in hell for people to do this kind of thing. An author faking her own suicide then moseying back online 2 years later acting like nothing happened all 'psych Got ya?!' What in the world is wrong with people? And I honestly don't understand why? For attention? Scamming people for money? Boredom? WHAT?! The complete audacity and entitlement to think you can do this and get away with it. Susan Meachen you are absolutely disgusting for this.
This insane author faked her own suicide because of “bullying by reviewers” and started a Go Fund Me to dupe the reading community. Hope she gets charged with fraud and carted off to the clink.
I get wanting to sell your books but to fake your own death and then come back with no remorse for hurting so many and taking their money. Shame on you
This was a very good book that I enjoyed from start to finish. When Misti lost her best friend and husband, she never thought she would be able to love again. However, she was willing to give it a shot. Her best friend Tiffany invited her to go out with her one evening and that is when everything went haywire with her emotions. Eric is a firefighter, a very sexy one at that, and he loves his job. As he enters the bar that Tiffany invited Misti to, he fell in love with the woman in front of him. He had no idea who she was but he is going to find out. Tiffany and her new crush invited Misti to go skiing with them without the knowledge of Eric showing up. Will Eric and Misti have a good weekend together or will they go their separate ways?

Losing Him & Finding You by Susan Meachen. Beautiful love story surrounding tragedy, heartbreak, and the difficult process of moving on. I liked this heartfelt story, the budding connection between characters, and the banter between them was genuine and made you feel like you were part of the story as it unfolded. Title: Losing Him & Finding You Author: Susan Meachen (Goodreads Author) Reviewer: Lorraine Leatham - Rainey Day Book Reviews Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Susan Meachen takens you on an emotional ride. One moment you have an intense desire to cry and the next you might feel happy for Misti. She loses her very best friend and the love of her life. she has the chance to find love once more. Yay! She meets Eric who is a firefighter. Misti fights her attraction for Eric of course. Then one day she realizes that she just can’t fight her feelings anymore and she receives that one phone call no one ever wants to get. Read to find out what happens next.
Be prepared to cry bc this book has all the feels along with an HEA. Beautiful heartfelt characters, wonderful storyline make this a must read for me. Loved it immensely!
Misti lost her childhood sweetheart unexpectedly. She is lost and wondering what to do with her life. She is not sure of anything, other than the fact that she will never love again. Two years later, she is living in a new state and working and is content in her life with her new job and best friend. Transitioning has been difficult, but she has finally gotten to the point where she can be happy where she is in her life. Then there was Eric.
Eric is a firefighter. There is an instant attraction between the two, but because of his profession, Misti will never allow for anything to happen between the two. Her having experienced the loss of her husband has set her mind to never losing someone that she loves ever again. But spending time with Eric weakens her resolve to remain a solitary being in life. And she runs scared.
Will she ever be able to open up her heart to the possibility of a future of love? Or will her loss prevent her from reaching out to the possibility of a love everlasting?
I really enjoyed Losing Him and Finding You. Misti has lost the love of her life. After a year she has finally decided on a move to start fresh. The only thing is she’s not ready to open her heart. A chance encounter throws her and sexy Eric together. The only problem is he has a job that puts him in danger. One thing she can’t handle. But Eric is stubborn and hoping to worm his way into her heart. Will she fight him to the end? Or give in and have a future filled with happiness? A definite must read!
Have you ever just sit there and cried over what you have just read? I did. This book has it all. Love, passion, the pain of losing the one you love more then life its self. These wonderful people in this book make you have all the feels. I love that like her other work these people are not perfect and real. This book is wonderful and so is Susan. If you have never read her work, what are you waiting for? Jump in and read this book.

This is a great story, that makes you experience every emotion under the sun. I cried, laughed, screamed and wanted to throw my Kindle at the author. Truly a story that will break you. I can't wait to read more by her.
This is one of the make ya feel sad and cry stories and then it will pull you out the funk and make you all happy that you made yourself keep reading till the end. This story is one of a kind in my book and worth a re-read later this year.
I'm noticing a startling trend in these books. The boy/male love interest/best friend gets killed, and it's all about grieving and finding a replacement lover.
Personally as someone who has lost a loved one I find this really really offensive, like you can't just replace one person with another person and that's what she writes. It's not even "oh I'll always miss him and stuff" it's usually like "I'll find a new Love and I'll feel good again". Which is offensive? Why are we filling in the void made by a suicide or death with another man and erasing that grieving period, or sexualizing it?
Yes, That's right The grieving stages are often very romanticized. It's very awkward because if this author romanticizes death and how people miss people when they're dead, it makes sense that she faked her own death because she knew exactly what she wanted. She has this romanticized idea of what losing a partner feels like and how romantic it is to her, so she probably played all of her friends for that romanticized feeling.
Like each book I've read of her so far has just been about spouse death or best friend dying and then finding a lovely man and him feeling the void, literally, left behind.
This was a great book I just wish the epilogue went deeper then just the announcement. Eric and Misti are relatable and realistic. This book is definitely an emotional ride. Misti is dealing with the loss of her husband. It has been 2 years and she still keeps herself safe from heartache by not letting anyone in. Misti meets Eric when her best friend Tiff decides to drag her out one night. It just so happens that Tiff met Eric's best friend Kevin. So much happens but Misti is definitely in an emotional bubble to keep herself from the pain. I highly recommend this book you won't be disappointed.
What an emotional rollercoaster this book was. Misti had married her childhood best friend and life was great until he suddenly died. Lost and wanting to move from the memories, she moved. When she is constantly thrown into Eric when their friends got together she feels the attraction but is scared to let him in because of his dangerous job. Can she overcome her fear and find happiness again?

This book sees a second chance for the leading lady to find happiness after she loses her husband. It’s a tale of healing and love. Written well with good strong characters. Excellent performance from Gillian
This would be my 3rd from this author. This one was steamier than the others. I had a little annoyance with some of the voices. I enjoyed the story and can see the struggle with starting over. Another quick listen.
Author pretended to die by self on her social media and then announced she actually didn’t and it was a lie. Let’s not support the person who laughs at suicide and treats mental illness as a fun popularising thing.
