Sharing intimate experiences from her own life, as well as stories of biblical women, Weems explores the significant relationships that mold readers from birth and the issues that complicate them.
Renowned Hebrew Bible scholar, academic administrator, ordained minister, and womanist wisdom griot. Her work in biblical studies is frequently cited in feminist theology and womanist theology.
Renita Weems does it again -- another beautiful, moving collection about women in the Bible and women in Dr. Weem's life. This book did not feel as cohesive as "Just A Sister Away" which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Dr. Rinta Weems writes about her own personal life and sharing her story makes me (and hopefully other black women) not feel so alone in our journey.
