3.5 stars--Although the image of the dolphin mom giving birth might be a little disconcerting for the board-book set, it is always nice to see children's books that celebrate dolphins in their natural habitats, as opposed to a marine park. This is especially impressive as this appears to be an older book--created during a time when performing animal shows often got a free pass.

This is a wonderful factual text about dolphin babies' lives. I especially love it because there's also a tiny version of the book which we also own, and other than one being big and one being tiny, the books are exactly the same. Mommy and baby books! (We looked at both together tonight.)

This is the tiny version of this book (we own both), and they are both awesome...especially when looked at together. A Mommy book and a Baby book. :)
