His hard, sensual passion is all she craves and she's everything he needs.
Rose is a librarian. And a virgin. And has a secret desire to learn first hand about the world of BDSM.
Jack is a history professor. A lifestyle Dominant. And has no desire to go back into a BDSM relationship.
But Rose is eager for experience and Jack can’t stop wanting her. Even if that means he has to fight himself and the pain of the past to be the one to teach her.
Ok, don't throw things at me but I hated this book. After reading Simple Need by this author, I was so looking forward to this story, WOW, was I shocked. I love to read a good bdsm story and some of my favorites are by Cherise Sinclair with her demanding but loving Dom's. Jack, the Dom in this story is nothing like them. Jack is a University history professor and the heroine is the stereotypical meek and mild librarian and a virgin to boot even though she is 30 something, who wants Jack to introduce her to the "lifestyle" and make her his. What she gets is a JERK who wants her to be a slave. He makes her crawl around the house on her hands and knees and tells her that there will be times when he will expect her to fall asleep on her knees with his flaccid c*** in her mouth and wake up prepared to service him again.. And the little fool Rose just looks at him adoringly and says Yes Sir. Are you f***ing kidding me? This story was disgusting and degrading and nothing like the bdsm stories I usually love. I apologize to those of you who loved this book and I haven't given up on this author since I have loved some of her other books. Just not this one.

The only thing about this book that I didn't like was that it wasn't long enough. Hot dominant man finding an woman's submissive nature to hard to resist. The book ended right when the couple was starting their relationship. I really wanted to find out what happened next...
Full review rant to come eventually... I'm too p!ssed right now and life has taught me to stay away from the internet when I'm not in control of my emotions, LOL.
First - it's a super short story, so I get that there isn't a whole lot of time for character development. BUT.....there needed to be some in order for me to even care about these characters. (Honestly, I really didn't care for either of them.)
I'm always torn when I read books with a BDSM theme. I'm torn between finding it kind of hot - and incredibly offensive. The hot part is the spanking and the tying up. The offensive part is the whole "you're mine; I own you; I'll share you with others if I feel like it; now put on this collar and let me lead you around like a dog." Um, no. Not hot....not sexy. AT ALL. (I know there are some that are into that. I'm not judging. I'm just saying - for me - it's a no go.)
Rose is a virgin librarian who has basically stalked Professor Jack since she was a college student. She wants him.....bad.....but he is out of the lifestyle. But he finds he can't resist Rose, so he comes back to the lifestyle. For her. And over a weekend, they become a Dom/sub pair. Sound vague? Yes, it was. The whole relationship needed to be explored more. The whole reason of WHY Rose was so obsessed with Jack and why Jack turned away from the lifestyle. Ok, yes....so it was VERY BRIEFLY explained during the course of the story - but not enough to where it made sense.....not enough to make me care about these people.
I still love Lissa Matthews' writing, even if I wasn't all that impressed with this particular book.
Solid 4 stars for the writing - 2.5 stars for content. Average rating of 3 stars.
This is probably the first full blown erotica story I've read. Sure, I've read books with a lot of sex, but not one that was JUST about sex.
I liked it alright. I will definitely read more erotica, but I don't think I'm much of a full on BDSM chick because although some of it was arousing, the collar, and things like that are not really a turn on for me.
Also, Jack was not described physically at all. I couldn't picture him and could barely picture Rose. The actual sex was not very descriptive, mostly just the BDSM stuff. So that was a downer in my book.
So I give this a two because it had it's moments, but as a short story of only about 36 pages, it didn't have much of a story at all and it wasn't the type of sex I'm really into. But a good introduction to the world of erotica nonetheless.
