This volume was so, so cute. I loved to see Otsu and Minegishi's relationship progress, the way they become aware of their feelings. The scene where they lock pinkies on the train and fall asleep... help! so cute!

the miscommunication scene in this was delicious and i usually hate them. it was only brief, but it was so good. also, the way one cooks for the other and they eat everything with each other makes me so deliriously happy 😭

I adore this series so much! Minegishi is a dreamboat in more ways than one. We see Otsu start to feel worthy of the attention he's getting in this volume, and I cannot get enough of them. Can't wait to see how the series continues.

This is about Minegishi and Otsu. I liked this volume a lot better as there was more development in their relationship and it was really sweet. Looking forward to the next volume!

this manga makes me feel like I'm 15 again and reading yaoi for the first time which I guess means I should stop being so judgy about certain other popular gay comics

there was really only one moment in here that threw up a red flag for me as far as fetishizing fatness/stuffer fetish stuff goes, but there are a few times where health is brought up that is a little annoying to see

I liked how Otsu got a lot of panels with the sparkle sparkle pretty boy filters without his fatness being erased. it's nice seeing a fat character still be portrayed as beautiful/handsome in the typical BL/shoujo way, flower borders and blushing and all

all in all it feels like there were some good steps forward in this volume, though I still have doubts we'll ever see these two kiss on page. but I'm a bitter old dyke who has little hope for "innocent" series like this one showing something as """indecent""" as a gay kiss. hopefully I'm proven wrong!

The way this made me scream!! How are they so oblivious yet so aware at the same time??

Their relationship progressed SO MUCH in this volume. I'm so excited to read more and see what happens with Otsu and Minegishi especially because they're so blatant and obvious with their feelings towards each other. What's going to happen??

*Reread 5/12/2024*
I like the way Minegishi comes off as this cool guy, but is such a dork when it comes to Otsu. I forgot how fast this ended up moving. The volumes are so short I think this whole series could've easily been one or two volumes instead of 3.

Reread March 2022 - it's still so fun.

---

I love that we saw more developments between Minegishi and Otsu in this installment. The story is so cute, and the side characters are so fun. Tanaka is a real one.

This volume was pretty uneven; the second half was significantly better than the first.

The chapters are a bit longer this time around, probably being written for book publication rather than for twitter? The first chapter had a fairly strong start, with Otsu asking Minegishi's friend/coworker, Kunai, what types of things he likes to eat and drink, so Otsu can return the favors Minegishi is always bestowing on him. Minegishi happens to see them sitting close together, chatting, and gets the wrong idea...but it's really cute that he blushingly tells Kunai about the misunderstanding later on. I like their friendship, and I like that it's getting a little more development.

The next few chapters were really more focused on food gags than on actually moving the characters or their relationships forward, so I got a little bit bored and was worrying we'd just get stuck in the "Minegishi likes seeing Otsu eat" theme without anything else to balance it out.

Fortunately, the Christmas chapter arrived, with a confession that was both sweet and confusing...I was surprised by how little Otsu reacted to Minegishi flat-out saying he liked him and couldn't tell if he'd actually understood what was going on there? But then he said at the end that he wanted to work to be worthy of being Minegishi's special person? But barely reacted at all to the confession?

Maybe Mito even realized that the pacing and clarity was a little off there, because from that point on, the narrative gets back on track, with a better focus on the characters and some actual, significant movement in how Minegishi and Otsu understand and define their relationship. There's still a little bit of uncertainty in there...Otsu even admits (to himself) that it's a lot easier to pretend he doesn't know what's going on, so he doesn't get embarrassed or hurt, but he likes Minegishi, and Minegishi very clearly likes him, so why keep fighting it?

Their poor coworkers continue to be frustrated by the ups and downs in their communication, since even a promise ring and an overnight work trip don't move them into anything physical, but they're getting there, at their own pace. As Minegishi says to Kunai, he's ok with however Otsu wants to define things for now...he just likes spending time with Otsu, and promising to make him meals every day is a significant level of commitment for him. For both of them, really.

I liked the bonus chapters, especially the afore-mentioned work trip, where Minegishi slides into some achey, introspective jealousy again, and prepares himself for the prospect of Otsu transferring to a smaller branch office where he likes and gets along with all of his coworkers.

But Otsu takes some excellent initiative here, both reminding Minegishi of their promise to each other, and insisting that he wants to bring those kinds of changes back to their main office - like changing dynamics where certain things are seen as "women's work" and people aren't relaxed and friendly with each other.

I like this reminder of how good of a person Otsu is, and I'd definitely like to see more of these types of interactions in the final volume. And like Otsu says, it's fun to see more of Minegishi's endearing flaws coming out - he's not as cool and collected and unfailingly polite as he seems, and it just makes him more likable.

If you think someone’s special and deserves to be with someone special, and that person thinks you’re special and deserve to be with someone special- what is the solution I wonder? I’m happy we got to see more of what it means for Minegishi to cook for someone. It’s not just him wanting to feed Otsu, it’s that cooking food for someone special makes him feel happy. And I love that Otsu is starting to see that about Minegishi and is starting to see that his self-esteem doesn’t need to be compromised because the desirable guy pays him attention. That guy has something he likes and likes him back. Now they just need to say it aloud. Well, Otsu does. I don’t think Minegishi has been dropping hints, I think he’s been very very clear about how he feels. Take the step. This volume, because the relationship is progressing had sweeter, heart fluttering moments and good old romance jealousy. A good progression.

I have been waiting a few months for this. When I thought I requested this volume, I had actually requested the first volume again.

Otsu, struggles to get something for Minegishi and a coworker gives him a suggestion. Minegishi seeing the two of them talking feels jealousy. (I thought that was cute)

The chapter with Minegishi wearing a ring and Otsu is one of my favorites. Otsu has come to terms that the other male likes him and is aware that he likes him in return. I am not sure what is going to happen from here or even what I want to happen now that there is progression in their somewhat relationship. Otsu tried to ignore it but decided he wasn't going to anymore.

The next volume is not until next year so I have a few more months to wait. I do not know if that will be the end but I hope not.

better than volume 1 - we get a lot of really cute moments and they progress towards an actual relationship! there's even a small hand-holding moment on the train, and an almost-confession in the hotel room (that scene of otsu coming back when minegishi pretends he's sick out of jealousy made me laugh out loud).

otsu isn't quite so grumpy and self-deprecating in this one, and minegishi is a little less pushy on the 'feeder' aspect, though there is one scene at the ramen shop where he says 'i was just thinking how much...i like you...when you're eating' and otsu gets a little sad that didn't sit completely right with me. again, i do think the aspect of 'you're happy when you're eating / i just want you to be happy, enjoy life, smile, etc' is pushed, which appeases some but not all of the chubby chaser/feeder uncomfiness here.

~Review for the series~
This is a cute manga, but it never quite hit me like I expected. It started with promises of a rivals-to-lovers vibe, but after a while the story doesn’t seem to have any type of direction and it’s scattered all over the place (and not in a way that still feels coherent like other slice-of-life mangas). I usually love office romances, especially when it’s a manga series, but this felt less like a romance and more of a weird relationship. Which again, would’ve been fine if that’s the way the series was marketed.

I’d still recommend this series to people, though! It’s too unusual to see fat bodies in manga where they are no only portrayed as normal but also desirable. And the first half of the first volume and the third volume have some really cute moments. It’s a short, fun read that made me smile quite a few times. 🖤

This volume was so good!! I can't believe there is only one volume left in this series. This volume is mostly from Otsu's POV and we finally get to see the two of them progressing forward in their relationship.

I also love this volume because there is a wee Halloween chapter. Also love how often we see penguins in this volume. Tanaka is growing on me too!

Also I've heard a few people who read the first volume felt that it was too much of a irresponsible feeder kink and this volume kind of clears this up a bit. Its less a kink and more of Minegishi just wanting to take care of Otsu. He even makes a point of making him healthier meals and discourages Otsu from eating an entire cake because its so unhealthy.

Once again can not recommend this series enough! I can't wait to finish the third volume soon!

This was really cute! I’m glad I finally convinced myself to continue this series 😂

I don’t have much to say since the storytelling style makes it so each chapter feels more like a snapshot into the life of Minegishi and Otsu than a drawn out traditional plot. In general, I liked that the two of them more or less formalized their relationship. They opened up a little more. They were a bit more vulnerable.

Overall, I keep finding this a hilarious read. The humor in this is not laugh out loud, but it’s silly and fun. It makes me smile.

So. Yeah! Good times 😊

P.S. Tanaka is so great 😂 I love him

Much better character development with Minegishi in this volume, and I love how even Otsu notices it in the text, though I'm still hoping for something more substantive than Minegishi liking Otsu's appearance and eating habits as motivation for wanting to be with him. I'm looking forward to the third volume!

Light and fluffy cute BL. It has less 'food pushing' (showing someone you love them by feeding them or bringing them snacks. Think Grandma who feeds her grandkids a lot when they stay over) than the other volume. It doesn't really have a fetishy feel to it (or as much as I thought it did in the first volume) so I feel like the author/artist isn't doing that part on purpose.

The chapters do feel a little bit disjointed like it was meant to be a webtoon or something.

Still, I'm glad Goodreads is recommending more BL and manga with heavier/Plus-size characters to me.

More of a 3.5 star rating;
While some of the chapters still seem a bit repetitive, I still love the overall wholesome feel of this manga. I really like that this volume Otsu and Minegishi are gradually becoming closer, as well as, Otsu being more aware of his feelings for Minegishi. Although while Minegishi’s feelings are rather obvious, I don’t remember if he ever explicitly said them or not. Also, I’m still fond of Tanaka and am glad that there was a bit more of him in this volume.

Nothing continues to happen. The art style is still very cute but the panels and story-flow are still lackluster. Both of the characters seem to have somewhat admitted that they like each other but this continues to go nowhere. At one point the taller one gets a ring and it makes the shorter one jealous, that’s like the only story that stuck out. Minegishi makes a promise to cook for Otsu from now on.

Plus-sized characters in manga are rare and when they're not used as a running fat joke, it's even more uncommon. So being plus sized myself and seeing this manga was a real delight and it's a cute little treat to read!

Minegishi can't stop feeding a ton of food for Otsu and Otsu will pay him back even if it's the simplest of things. So Otsu gave Minegishi a canned coffee because he was working late at their office and I could really tell their connection is in progress. Kyaah, I like them and no hate/conflict. Yes, I'm glad Tanaka is there to help those two anytime and stuff.

Omg! These two are so cute, and I love Otsu coming to the realization of his feelings for Minegishi, and then Minegashi getting jealous of Mukuya and Otsu's response to that. Tanaka's imagination is huge apparently, as he imagines the shenanigans that might have happened at the hotel during Otsu and Minegashi's business trip, but Otsu denies everything. 4-1/2 stars.

I am still unsure. I like the idea, and it is cute. But, just kinda rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it’s me being plus sized and the idea of someone doing this to me is just well I think I would cry. Still cute, but just not for me.

Leaning more 2.5*
Vol 1 felt more "I like watching you eat because I like you and you look happy when you eat something good" but this one has way more "I just love to watch you eat" vibes and now I feel like this is a feeding fetish story and not a fluffy BL. 😑

This was a great sequel, 10/10 I love them so much. I thnk this volume let us learn a bit more about the personalities of both of them and it was very satisfying to see some character development and a lot of fun moments and faces. Can't wait to read the 3rd volume!

The relationship is developing so sweetly and I loved seeing Otsu become a little more confident and Minegishi being the vulnerable one and showing his less perfect side with getting jealous and insecure. Looking forward to seeing more of where they go!
