Feeling lazy, so I'm just gonna copy part of the blurb:

"Dani Standifer arrives home at her West Texas family ranch a day early, ready to pick up where she left off with Rowe Ayers, her high school sweetheart. However, when she opens the door to their line-shack trysting place, it’s clear she waited a day too long. Rowe’s with someone else—another man.

And not just any other man—Justin Cruz, the bad boy with whom she shared one wild encounter, years ago."

This novella is a lethal combination of dreadful sex writing, shallow characterization and unbelievable plot. The loving stalker and the "we're not gay, we just love each other" m/m are two of my least favorite tropes, and they're present in full force.

To start off, a stint in Justin's POV informs us that he watched Dani for years from afar, keeping his hands off her for years because she was too young. This watching included her trysts with Rowe in the line-shack. I gather Devlin intended this to show Justin's attraction to Dani and how it differed from his fleeting attractions to other women, but it came off as predatory and stalkeriffic. That's a steep hill to climb to regain my respect to be a believable hero, and the novella isn't anywhere near long enough for that.

The sex scenes are truly dreadful. They contain such gems as "The sight of her pale blonde ruff and the deep pink, inner lips framing her entrance, took his breath away." and "The slick, wet sounds they made as they came together were just nasty enough to thrill her, and the familiar musky scent and feel of the man working above her smoothed away the edges from her earlier unrest." The language was on par with free erotic shorts and the imagery anywhere from puzzling ("working?" really?) to gross, but never erotic. It lacked the subtlety, the tension building and feeling necessary to convey attraction or arousal. Ostensibly these are people who love each other, yet, beyond saying the words to each other, they do nothing to show me love exists here.

Dani's brother is portrayed as an impediment to their desire to be a threesome, but his character is woefully undeveloped. As quickly as he appears as an opposing force he disappears, dropping his dissent in a two line conversation. Why bother creating his character in the first place.

Altogether, Unbridled is an underwhelming effort from Devlin, who is capable of much better work.

So I originally read Unbridled years ago and when I saw that it was up for review I decided to revisit not just this one but the entire series as well. I love a ménage story and this was one of the first ones I read. Justin, Dani and Rowe will have your heart rate increasing and your body temperature rising at times as well.

The way Dani discovers Justin and Rowe’s relationship was both hot and a bit heartbreaking but I honestly think it was the best way she could have found out because she witnessed the raw passion between them first hand. The way they handle the development of the relationship between the three I enjoyed, it wasn’t just oh look now they are all together that there were some bumps along the way.

Unbridled is fairly fast paced and a quick read and a good introduction to Ms. Devlin’s writing if you have not read her previously.

Read this highly equitable mmf tale back in the day,pre Goodreads and it was a favorite! So glad to see it available in e book and audible.Exemplifies that love is about the person, not the gender with its emotionally fuelled combustion providing that cherry on top for both romantic and sexy satisfaction!

#1 in the series that I seem to be reading out of order. This town in Texas is going to become the group marriage capital of the world. Quite a fantasy, where people seem to accept these couples, or triples, whatever. And yet I keep reading them, somehow fascinated by the whole concept. They aren't badly written, just hard to believe. I keep saying, it is fiction!!!

It really wasn't believable. Justin never progresses past selfish jerk and everyone seems fine with it because deep down he loves them. I didn't really ever care about these characters. I was glad to see she gave Cutter a book because I connected with him more than the main characters.

This was just an OK read for me. It seemed a bit rushed and lacked backstory and details. Sex was pretty hot but even this could have used more steam.

Unbridled is a fantastic contemporary romance with a western twist by Delilah Devlin. Ms. Devlin has provided readers with a well-written book loaded with spectacular characters. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. This is also a M/M/F menage so it may not be for everyone. Dani returns home after college a day earlier than planned, just in time to find her high school boyfriend with another man. Rowe and Justin think Dani would be perfect for them, but can they convince her? Rowe, Justin and Dani's story is packed with drama, humor, smokin' hot sexy bits and just a drop of suspense. I enjoyed reading Unbridled and look forward to my next book by Delilah Devlin. Unbridled is book 1 of the Lone Star Lovers Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Prolific Works. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is book one in the Lone Star Lovers series and it features Dani Standifer, Rowan Ayers and Justin Cruz. I think this whole story was about showing Justin that he doesn't always have to be hard. He's worthy of the love of a good woman and of a good man. Neither are going to judge him or leave him for past indiscretions. It's a story of three people that discovered life is better when the three of them are sharing it together. It's also the first of its kind of relationship in their small Texas ranching town.

Delilah Devlin does it again! Great story! Crazy HOT ménage a trois with two sexy Cowboys and the woman neither wants to live without. I can't wait for book two.

If MM, MMF, or MFM scenes offend you, steer clear of this book.

This book was ok. It actually had sweet moments and a little bit of sadness. Dani and Rowe tried to ease some of Justin's pain as they all move forward in navigating their relationship. This is definitely not instalove. They manage to find happiness in spite of Cutter's disapproval, mostly aimed at Justin.

Although this is a standalone, will we get more info regarding the animosity Cutter has for Justin?

lay it all on the line

Dani and Rowe have been friends then lovers for a long time. Dani couldn’t resist the bad boy Justin. Dani leaves town. When she comes back and wants to surprise Rowe, but gets a surprise of her own. Rowe and Justin want her, and she wants them. Can they make a relationship work? Do they want the relationship to work? Come on in and find out what they decide.

The best ever.

Of I could give more than 5 stars, I would have. Delilah Revlon is one of my favorite authors. She's a good proofreader, her stories move quickly and their interesting. To me that says it all. Everyone who likes sexy stories should try reading this book. You won't regret the choice you made.

Check out my blog: Escape by Fiction

I might have liked it more if I cared about the characters more.

Dani comes home from college expecting to rekindle her relationship with Rowe. What she finds is Rowe waiting for a new lover at their secret get-a-way. She never expected Justin, the town's playa' and the only other man besides Rowe she's slept with, to be that lover.

Justin and Rowe want to start a permanent relationship between the three of them, but aren't sure it'll work. Justin has emotional issues and wants to 'master' everyone and everything. That's ok per Rowe and Dani in the bedroom, but not anywhere else.

After a lot of worrying about Dani's brother, what the townspeople will think and some personal issues - they all hook up and HEA.

I think I might have liked it better if the characters and their ties to each other had been more fortified. I kind of wish it had more of a plot too - PWOP is ok but I at least have to like the characters for it to be a success. I'll try the next one, hopefully it better.

Two and half stars. Having disliked Devlin's "Saddled" I wasn't expecting much, however I found this book more to my taste. I liked that there was real passion between the guys and that we got to see every character one on one with the other two as well as all three together. What I didn't like is that the story was way too compressed to fit the novella length and the author tried too hard for complexity with the character's needs and instead it just came out as muddled. Pacing was poor, with long boring sections consisting of circular conversations that didn't add any new information followed by too many sex scenes in a row. Also, (unintentionally)humorously characters often chose to engage in drawn out, serious conversations immediately after being penetrated by their lover. Also what is the rush to have characters declare their undying love a week after hooking up?

I think there was a decent full novel size book hiding in here somewhere, purple prose and all. Have to say I totally hated Dani's (female lead) brother who seemed like he had stepped out of the 1950s and have zero interest in reading the second book in the series which is about him.

Let me start by saying Unbridled was my first read by Delilah Devlin, and wow what a great first read it was, hot and steamy. What a way to introduce a reader to a new author she has me hooked to her books.

Dani Standifer arrives home at her West Texas family ranch a day early, ready to pick up where she left off with Rowe Ayers, her high school sweetheart, but would never expect what she found out at the cabin that was Rowe and her rendezvous place for their trysts Rowe & Justin were lovers. Could she accept Rowes secret? Could she go along with what Rowe and Justin are offering her? Will Justin reveal to Dani his true feelings?

This was a short but steamy read! Ms. Devlin had you pulled into book wondering if Justin would ever let his need for control go, would he actually be able to let two people love him and love them back. What woman wouldn’t love to be loved by two sexy cowboys, I know I would. I can not wait to read the other books in her Lone Star Lovers series.

This is the first opportunity I've had to read a Delilah Devlin novel. She's been on my TBR, but for whatever reason, she had remained out of reach. Although I am not sure what I expected, Unbridled blew it out of the water.

Hot sexy cowboys from beginning to end. Bad boy with low self-esteem, a charming smile and a need to be loved, Justin Cruz has bedded every willing woman in a fifty mile radius. Including the beautiful, smart, independent Dani Standifer. But it was a long time ago and boyfriend Rowe Ayers wasn't never supposed to find out about it. She was never supposed to find out about Justin and Rowe either. But the two men thought differently. They fell in love. With her and with each other.

Unbridled is full of explicit sex for sure, but it is also a love story. A coming into her own story and realizing her own power. Dani faced ridicule, gossip, defamation of her character, loss of livelihood at her brother's hand all to be with the men she loved. In doing so she discovered who she was, as did Justin and Rowe.

Definitely an 18+ read; one to add to your TBR

I think this book had a lot of untapped potential. It could have gone into the connection shared by Dani and Rowe a lot more. At first I thought they were sort of settling with each other, then they were "communicating without words in their own language" so I was really left wondering what the heck these two were about.

I liked Justin in theory, but again didn't think he was fully devuldged to the reader.

I like, in m/m/f books, when the males have a relationship. I hate it when the woman acts as a buffer between the men. So I liked that this book started right off with some m/m power loving'. Also, I found it interesting that at some points one person would feel jealous or isolated from the others. Jealousy is often avoided or ignored in menage romances and I bet that there would be jealousy involved so i like to see that played out

But at the end of the book it all felt kind of hollow. I think the framework of the story is great, it's just not filled in enough.

The book was a little short but that doesn't mean it was lacking in story! Rowe and Dani have been together since middle school and Dani has returned from getting her graduate degree ti find him meeting someone else.
Problem is, the someone else is the one man she strayed with when she was barely out of high school, town bad-boy Justin. Rowe and Dani need to be dominated and Justin is the man for them. Problem is, Justin doesn't know how love and they make it their mission to teach him.
Dani has been raised by her brother, and in his heyday, Justin seduced his girlfriend under him, so Cutter does not and cannot forgive Justin. He also doesn't want his little sister with two men and subject to small town speculation. Dani doesn't care, she knows that her, Rowe and Justin love each other and can make this work. She lets her brother know this and we are definitely left with a to be continued moment....

This book had the potential to be HUGE, but it seems to be lacking something...I don't know if it was that I got the feeling that Justin and Rowe's feelings toward each other seemed to be stronger than how either of them felt about Dani, or if the relationships went from zero to sixty in zero seconds...I got really annoyed at the start of the book when Dani discovered the guys together, her reaction didn't seem real, or at least how I would've reacted in that situation at least, I think there needed to be a bit more drama, especially when compared with how her brother seemed to over react about every little thing...there seemed to be some balance missing. Aside from all of that it was an okay little read and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Sexy cowboy, sexy bad boy, secret romance, betrayal, man on man loving, and really hot sexy scenes that push some boundaries – that’s Unbridled. Not only does it cover just about every possible variation within a ménage between two men (one dominant, one on the submissive side, yet still alpha) and a submissive woman who will only bow in the bedroom (well, during sexy time), but it also touches upon social issues – poverty, status, unconventional relationships and the difficulties that such couples (trios, really) have to overcome. There’s story and plenty of sexy, and seriously hot Dominance and submission games.

Unbridled - Lone Star Lovers Book 1

Dani Standifer left her home town always believing her one true love Rowan Ayers would be there when she came back.

Rowan Ayers knows Dani will forever be his sweetheart but he doesn't know if she will still want him when she discovers his truth.

Can Dani and Rowan make it work once Dani discovers the truth about Rowan and Justin Cruz the resident bad boy and will Justin be able to convince her to claim them both.

Unbridled is a great start to the Lone Star Lovers by Delilah Devlin and I look forward to reading more of this series.

Well written erotica!,
I would recommend this book as a well written erotica about a threesome, involving emotional commitment between two men and a woman. I liked all three of the characters, although they did seem incompletely characterized, but that could just be me, wanting a longer and more satisfying read, when I am really liking a story. Delilah Devlin writes good western stories about romance and they are usually hot, but this one was a scorcher and a keeper to read again.

A little quick but a good read

I will admit that the story was a good read but I also have to state that the story felt rushed. The main characters could have used a little more development and the secondary characters a lot more development. Happy ever after came to quickly for me given the magnitude of the plot. The story read more like an erotic fantasy than a realistic romance. In spite of these problems I will be reading the rest of the series.

I was a little disappointed when the story abruptly ended, didn't realise that each book was just going to be a couple of chapters each..

The story it self was ok, very steamy. Nice lead up to what may come in the next books. It was a short quick read that just left me wanting more. Just didn't get the two guys always denying that they weren't in it for each other.

Fantastic!! I just love a kinky, menage. Add cowboys, old friends, old love & things really heat up with Dani, Rowe & Justin! Can they create & keep together a family?

I just keep on reading Ms. Devlin's books, Series & Standalone's. If you're looking for kinky, sexy, people in love then look no further!! There's plenty of stories here. I'm on to the next one in Lone Star Lover's Series.
