How many times have we either used or heard the expression "Nobody Knows"? Foster loves to learn new things so he asks a lot of questions. Many times the answer is Nobody knows. Then one night Nobody comes to visit and begins to teach Foster a very important law, The Law of Levity. Foster soon has a chance to put this new knowledge to use. If fact the very next day when he has a chance to make his mother feel better.

Combining simple text with cute colorful and interacting illustrations will hold the child's attention throughout the story as our adorable Foster comes alive for the young readers. My two seven year old great nieces and I enjoyed being able to share the story together.

Nobody knows everything

Foster Learns a Law is a great and funny story. When I first saw the story I thought it would be about learning a law that someone could go to jail for but it wasn’t. Foster loves to learn. He likes to ask questions and remembers all the answers. His parents always say Nobody knows. In his dream, Nobody comes for a visit and Foster learns a new law, the law of levity. I like the law of levity and the way Foster made his mom feel better when he woke up the next day. This would be a great story for kids that are very young. The pictures are great. I loved the way the cushion is flattened by Nobody and the scary Bugs Bunny. Most of all I liked the “Nobody was here,” note hanging on the wall. Alyssa, age 9.

This was a fun read. The book was a little unexpected in its message and we really enjoyed it. The illustrations are a perfect blend with the story elements. I would recommend the book for read aloud time with young readers. I’m sure it would engender some excellent conversation about how they could show the law of levity and lift the spirits of others around them.

Foster is four-years-old, and so smart that his parents tell everyone he is a genius. He can juggle numbers, and even knows about billions and trillions as well as lots of other things because he asks questions. However, there are some questions his parents can't answer. When they can't, they say, "Nobody knows." One night, after Foster falls asleep, he dreams there is a knock on the door. He is excited when he finds out that Nobody has come to visit him, but he can't see him because Nobody is invisible. Nobody answers many of Fosters questions and tells him there is a law that he must visit anyone that believes in him. When he asks Foster if he knows what a law is, Foster answers that he does; he knows about the law of gravity, the law of speeding and Murphy's law. When Foster doesn't know what the Law of Levity is, Nobody shows him on his tv and explains how it is the law of lifting people up.

This is a great picture book for young children. It talks the laws of gravity, speeding and Murphy's law. It then goes on to teach an important lesson about being helpful and cheering people up who or sad.

This book was not anything like what I expected the story to be about. That being said, it was better.

Foster is a smart kid. He asks questions about everything. His parents do not know all the answers so often he is told "Nobody knows" or "Nobody can answer that". One night, Mr. Nobody comes calling. He talks to Foster about laws. Foster knows Murphy's law and the law of gravity, but does he know about the "Law of Levity"? Mr. Nobody uses the television to show Foster how laughter and humour can take a person who is down and depressed and put them in a better mood. What a great lesson for everyone to learn. Of course at the end it appears it was a dream, but that does not matter. The nice thing about that is that we know Foster didn't really open the door at night and let in a stranger. A wonderful story with cute illustrations.

Thank you Netgalley and Charwood Publications for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Wow, this book made me smile. It's probably a little to old for my daugher right now, but I know she will love it later on. Foster is a very smart kid who always wants to know why. He asks the big questions that his parents tell him nobody knows the answers to. Then one night he receives a spooky visit from Nobody, who shares some secrets with him, including an important law that balances out gravity.

This is a truly delightful kids story that is fun for adults too. Wonderful illustrations full of colour bring Foster's tale to life, and the text flows well and as an easy read, with some lovely little hooks and twists that will make you smile. Recommended.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILER:

This book was okay. It is about a boy named Foster that had a dream that someone was invisible and they knocked on his door. He learned a pretend law. That's pretty much it.
