A single mom putting her life back together after an unexpected divorce, an Army veteran who’s secretly been in love with her, and the decision that risks their friendship in the pursuit of more.

Sophie Whitmore fled with her daughter Caroline to Sunset Ridge, Alaska months after her now ex-husband left her for another woman. She’s worked hard to rebuild her life in the new town alongside her sisters, running a lodge the three inherited more than a year ago.

Her priorities are clear: provide Caroline a real home, run a marathon, and learn to embrace whatever life throws at her on her own. She relied on a man once before—she won’t risk making that mistake twice. That last one would be a whole lot easier to stick to if she wasn’t starting to feel … more for her best friend, Denver.

Army veteran Denver Grant moved back to his hometown a year ago after giving up on finding love. His plan to settle into a quiet routine and focus on his increasingly popular mystery writing career was thrown the day he met Sophie.

He accepted her friendship and kept his growing love for her a secret as he waited for her heart to heal. But he’s waited long enough. He wants more. He devises a plan to a plan to play Sophie’s secret admirer, testing the waters before he lays it all on the line.

But love doesn’t follow any plan.

Confession. Single parent is one of my all time favorite tropes. I've talked to a few friends who aren't as crazy about them as I am and I've come to the conclusion that it's because I'm single with no kids. But I AM a proud auntie of 18 nieces and nephews. This girl right here is truly blessed!

For five years, Sophie's life was ruled by her ex-husband. If it didn't fit he's needs, she wasn't allowed to do it. He changed her from the person she was to the person he needed her to be at the time he needed her to be it. She was miserable and the only bright spot was her daughter, Caroline. Divorcing her ex-husband and moving to Alaska to help run the lodge was the best thing for Sophie. She's finally able to start over and become the person she wants to be.

From the moment Denver laid eyes on Sophie, it was love at first sight and he knew that she would be his wife some day. The problem? Her ex did a number on her and she's more skittish than a baby colt. He knows he'll need to take things slow but he's up for the challenge. After all, friendship helps build a solid foundation for a relationship. He's determined to help her figure out who she is and help her realize how great they can be together.

While I have been dying to read Sophie and Denver's story, I'm not going to lie, it was a bit slow going for me. I totally understood why it was so hard for Sophie to move forward and start living again, but it also broke my heart because she had an amazing man standing right in front of her. The further along in the story I got, the more I loved it. Sophie and Denver were perfect for each other. And I absolutely adored his relationship with Caroline. He seemed to know his girls better than their own family did. I loved watching their story unfold.

In case you're wondering, I'm still loving Sunset Ridge. It has been such a fun escape from reality. I still love Ed and was introduced to Sherlock, Denver's dog. He's the perfect companion for a mystery writer. And he get's bonus points for loving Caroline as much as Denver does.

I was excited to discover that this series isn't over yet. But I'm scared to read the next book. Why? Because it's Ryder's book. Who's Ryder, you ask? He's Denver's super grumpy younger brother. And when I say grumpy, I mean GRUMPY! I have a feeling it's going to take A LOT for our heroine to win this man over! I'm calling it right now. He's going to be puddy in her hands and he won't like it one bit.

I'm so glad that I finally gave Ms. Winters a chance. I have been loving her books! I'm looking forward to reading more by her!

As for my casting, I'm in love! These two are perfect! What do you think?

4.25-4.5 again

Caroline is an adorable (have i used that word enough when talking about this series?) little girl with a moose obsession. Sophie and Denver are meant to be and Sherlock helps to complete their little family. Such a cute story!

I'm absolutely loving this series for it's quick, cute, fun, and clean reads! Such a delight!

Denver, a veteran and mystery writer, is secretly in love with Sophie, and has been since they met last year. Sophie and her daughter, Caroline, come to Alaska to work with her sisters at the inn they inherited, after her marriage failed. She's not ready for dating, but she and Denver become friends, then best friends. When she begins to get gifts from a secret admirer, she can't imagine who it would be. I was so excited to read this book, the third in the series. I read the second book as an ARC, and recently purchased the first book. Denver and Sophie are on a slow burn, both attracted to the other, but afraid to take the first step. Denver is such a loving and patient man, only wanting the best for Sophie and Caroline. I like that he trusts Sophie enough to talk through ideas about his books. Sophie is strong, trying to find her place in her new life, working so hard to take care of her daughter, even when her ex turns into a deadbeat dad. I love that Ed is back, and even though he's taken to eating the cabbage from Sophie's garden, she still uses him as a sounding board while she's running. I'm looking forward to Ryder's story next.

Sweet, Heartwarming Story

Oh, my gosh! How much did I enjoy this lovely romance! I love it when a contemporary romance has a hero and heroine who are both inherently decent people who just haven't yet found their way to each other because of personal issues. I particularly loved the hero. Having just read a couple of other contemporary romances where the hero was harder to like, Denver was the perfect book boyfriend. You could just feel his pain because of his unrequited love for the heroine. Oh, yes, she is attracted to him, and they are besties, but her evil ex-husband has put her off of men until her daughter graduates... and she is currently five! So Denver hatches a plan to let her know how he feels, and it was in a sweet and endearing manner. He truly wants nothing more than to make a family with the heroine and her little girl. The way he expresses it is just so lovely. Did I say that I like the hero, LOL? But, this is a contemporary romance, so you know there have to be complications. Still, all in all, I found this to be a delightful and heartwarming read.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

ANONYMOOSELY YOURS is the third book in the Sunset Ridge series. Each is a wonderful, stand-alone, contemporary romance.

Ed the Moose is back!! He’s even helping to make one special little girl’s birthday even more magical.

That little girl’s mom, Sophie, is training for the annual marathon! In addition to being an awesome mom and helping to run the lodge with her sisters. This woman is amazing! Is it any wonder that she has caught the eye of Denver?

Now say what you will, but I’m going to bet that any woman would love to be wooed the way that Denver has dreamed up. His secret admirer plan is so personalized and sweet. Plus, I love that her sisters – and Ed – are rooting for him!

Now for the best news… The three sisters may have their men, but the fun is not over. Ed the matchmaking moose is not done, and we will be returning to Sunset Ridge, Alaska for LOVE & MOOSECHIEF. I have the date marked on my calendar!

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

I've been looking forward to Sophie's story since book one, I wasn't sure I agreed with Tessa in book two when she stopped Denver but can now see she was right. I loved the friendship between Sophie and Denver, it was lovely to see it and to see it develop into something so much more. I wanted to hug Sophie so many times in this story and tell her how strong and capable she was and I wanted to hug Denver for being such an amazing man too. Ed deserves a shot out as he was stellar in this story.

One of my favourite parts of this story was Denver working on his book, I loved the scenes of the plot being worked out and I really wish there was a way for me to find out what happened in the end! I am enjoying this series very much and wonder what Ryder's story will bring and how Ed will play a roll in it?

Sophie Whitmore and her daughter, Caroline, live in Sunset Ridge, Alaska, since her divorce from the husband who left her. She runs a Bed and Breakfast with her two sisters.

Denver Grant returned to Sunset Ridge when he left the military. He is now an author writing popular mystery books. Sophie and Denver have been friends for a while, long enough that he has already figured out that she is the woman he wants in his life. Denver is ready to take a risk and let Sophie knows how he feels about her. So he comes up with a clever plan to woo her. Will he succeed and win the lady’s heart? Are Sophie and Caroline ready to be part of a loving family?

This was a good story with nice pacing and likable characters who deserve their HEA. Is Sophie ready to trust again? Will she give Denver a chance to love her? Grab your copy and find out what the future holds for them.

A clean contemporary romance with entertaining characters, including Ed the moose.

This was the first story I've read by Jacqueline Winters but it definitely won't be the last. I really liked the family ties.... sisters, a daughter, spouse, and several others... I thought Jacqueline did a good job with the relationships between all of them. They each had opinions but supported each other when the chips were down. This is actually a romance. Denver, best friend of Sophie, wanted to take their relationship to the next step but Sophie had gone through a bad divorce and was afraid to give her heart again. So, does she realize Denver is trustworthy or does she take offense with his "marry me or else" threat? Read this clean romance and see how it ends. You won't be sorry.

I really enjoyed this story which is a clean friends to lovers story with animals and children thrown in. Sophie had suffered a bitter divorce and betrayal and that had affected her views on all relationships going forward. Denver was completely smitten but biding his time developing their relationship. There weer a host a well written characters including Sophie's sisters and her daughter Caroline plus Denver's mum and brother. Then there were the brilliant animal characters of Sherlock the dog and Ed the moose. Great story from a new author for me.

It's Sophie's turn at finding love and well lets say I was as stressed as Denver in regards to how things would pan out for him, Sophie and Caroline. Sophie has been hurt so bad but now she is so use to being guarded you want to shake her and tell her to listen to that tingly feeling she gets around Denver or thinks of him and then there is Denver gosh that man has the biggest heart ever and would do anything for Sophie and Caroline. I just love the characters of this series as you really connect with them and want whats best for them, but what I also really want is to read the Detective Malcom Yates books that Denver writes and Sophie is his sounding board for!! 😍

A wonderful story

Sophie has divorced her daughter Caroline's father and moved back to Alaska to work with her two sisters in their hotel. Denver has loved her from the first he saw her. He has waited a year to give her the chance to know she can trust him. She was working toward running the 26 marathon. She finally comes to the realization that he loves her and that she loves him too. A very good story bringing us to their happy ever after.
I am looking forward to Ryder's story which will be out in September.
Very well done authorship, thank you. And I must mention that Sophie made it all the way to the marathon finish line.

This is my first time reading something by Ms. Winters and I enjoyed it very much. This was such a delightful read I realized I have been missing out on a great series! The characters were wonderful, relatable, and endearing. Really loved Ed the Moose! Family seems to be a central theme in this book and I really love books that are family focused. Nice clean, sweet friends to lovers story that will melt your heart. The well-written storyline pulled me in right from the beginning. Really enjoyed the book and looking forward to going back and reading the beginning of the series.

I stumbled upon this series and was immediately intrigued by the moose theme. I’m so glad I picked up that first book because it did not disappoint! The writing is fast paced and engaging, the romance is spot on, the books are laugh out loud funny, and Wd the moose often steals the show!

Sophie & Denver’s story was over the top sweet in the absolute best way. I love a fictional man who takes action and Denver did exactly that, working to woo Sophie as she worked to heal her broken heart. I loved their sweet dynamic and how they took care of each other. Fantastic ending, I can’t wait to read Ryder’s book!

This is Sophie and Denver’s story and what a story it is. Denver fell in love with Sophie, but kept his feelings from her because she’s going through a trying time. Are they destined to remain friends or will Sophie return Denver’s love? Do yourself a favor and grab this book and find out what happens. You will meet some wonderful characters and one adorable moose, Ed. I can’t wait to read Ryder’s story next.

Another great book in this series with the third sister Sophie and Denver. They knew each other when they were younger and lost touch but now that she is back to help her two sisters runs the B & B that they inherited she and Denver have reconnected as friends. Denver wants more but Sophie coming off a betrayal and divorce is not ready or so she thinks. Loved how Denver was willing to wait for her and even though it took her a while to realize that Denver is the one for her and her young daughter.

Sophie & Denver were friends for a solid year and I was especially looking forward to their transformation from friends to lovers. The low angst, slow burn didn’t disappoint. The found family aspect was heavy as Sophie was a single parent and Denver stepped up after the father had abandoned them.

Could probably be read as a stand-alone, but reading in order have some depth to the side characters.

Again I have to mention told in third person so it really misses that aspect of his and her points of view.

Loved getting to revisit Sunset Ridge, Alaska. The characters, including the four-legged ones, are well done. I wouldn't mind knowing any of them in real life. :-)

I really loved this story. Denver has been so patient, but his patience is hitting it's end. It's time to act. He's got a great plan...

I love how supportive the sibling are, whether they are protecting their loved one from others or from themselves.

I love Sophie and Denver’s story. Denver is so patient and caring towards Sophie and her daughter. He loves them both but knows that Sophie hasn’t been ready to be more than friends.
Sophie is beginning to feel more than friendly feelings towards Denver, but is afraid to trust in another man.

The story flows beautifully in a friends that fall in love type of story.

I appreciate the fact that all of the books in the series are clean, wholesome books.

I really liked Sophie from the first meeting in the first novel, and I love her daughter, but I didn’t really imagine her as a protagonist. I was pleasantly surprised and found Denver to be a fantastic match from the start. Really cute friends to lovers. Still wish there had been a little more development of their relationship, mostly because I feel that my feelings for them and their relationship could have been so much stronger.

Sophie gets a happy ending too

I have loved all three sisters stories set in this beautiful town of sunset ridge in Alaska. I was delighted to see how things went with Sophie and her daughter Caroline. Such a sweet story, friendship grows into love. Each sister finding her place and leaving the past behind. Let's hear it for the meddling moose who ties everything together.

3rd is just as good as the 1st book

I throughly enjoyed all 3 books in this series. I can’t wait to read number 4.
This book focuses on the youngest sister of the group.
Having been divorced for over a year and with a 6 year old daughter, she has to decide if she can open herself up to love again. Sweet read.

What fun story to read, loved Ed the moose who seems to show up at the most opportune, (inopportune) times.. He seems to know when he is needed. I am currently reading the rest of this series and loving every book so far. If your looking for love in Alaska along with laughs on the way, this is the series for you. Enjoy!
